Safety Instructions
General:
The unit must only be oper ted t protective low volt ge in conjunction with
s fe electric l isol tion. The unit must only be rep ired by the supplier.
Never touch ny electronic nd optic l components of the sensor.
Use as safety device according to the European Machinery Directive:
The Gu rdi n1 sensor h s p ssed the EC Type Examinations ccording to
DIN 18650-1: 2005 § 5.7.4, EN 12978: 2003 nd other relev nt st nd rds nd
thus comply with the requirements of the European Machine Directive
(2006/42/EC), Appendix I. The sensor is TÜV-certified nd is thus pproved s
sole s fety device when used with utom tic sliding doors. Risk ssessment,
correct inst ll tion, consider tion of ddition l loc l st nd rds s well s ob-
serv nce of the required detection re s to secure h z rdous re s during the
opening nd closing of the door f ll within the re of responsibility of the per-
son who inst lls the utom tic door system.
Direct light into the sensor is not recommended.
Settings with relevance for the standards
Some functions permit settings th t re not in ccord nce with DIN18650-1:

Mount the sensor bove nd in the centre of the door, on h rd vibr tion-free
surf ce. (See Fig. 1 to 5)

Note:
Before switching on the unit, remove ll objects from the detection re th t
do not form p rt of the usu l surroundings of the door. Also m ke sure th t
nobody is within the motion re of the door during the te ch-in ph se.
The first time the sensor is powered up, ll LEDs will form running light. This
me ns th t there is no v lid presence zone stored into the sensor nd the out-
puts re set t s fe st te.
A: Open the door fully.
B: Store presence zone into the sensor by following step 1 nd 2.

of the door.

d. When the LEDs stop fl shing green LED lights ste dily, the s fe zone is
stored in the sensor.
e. Remove the m rkers. The green nd red LED lights nd the sensor
le rn the ”norm l” b ck-ground, (10, 30, 60 or 300 sec.) nd the red
LED turn off.
Any f ilures during the te ch-in procedure will c ncel the settings nd the
te ch procedure must be repe ted step nd b. This situ tion is shown with
the running light on ll LEDs.
Test safe zone:
f. Verific tion of the presence zone must be done with CA test body
DIN 18650-1
The presence zone c n be verified using test c rd. With dv nt ge
you use sheet of p per (i.e. A4 horisont lly) s test c rd. Ple se
use testc rd th t provides the strongest possible contr st to the
b ckground (the floor re ) like bl ck or white (see fig. 8).

The motion zone c n be bl nked in 7 steps for ll three directions using the 3
rot ry switches “Left”, “Center” or “Right” (see fig. 9).

The sensitivity rot ry switch llows settings in 7 steps. In order to select the
right compromise between sensitivity nd immunity.
• A norm l setting would be 3-5 (Norm l light condition) (4 is def ult).
• For indoor pplic tions with light sh dows, setting t 6-7 c n be used.
• In outdoor conditions with strong light, r in or snow, setting from 1-2
could be selected (strong light with he vy sh dows).

The sensor surf ce must be cle ned with soft cotton. Light so p w ter c n be
used. No lcohol must be used s the frontgl ss c n be miscoloured.
Maintenaince
The presence time is used to “hold” the door
open if person or object is present nd not
moving in the presence zon. After the “Presence
time” h s expired, the doors will close. If n ob-
ject h s not moved within the “Presence time”,
the object will be stored s p rt of the b ck-
ground. The “Present time” c n be set on the
rot ry switch for 10 sec, 30 sec, 1 min or 5 min.
