5. TESTING
When the breathalyzer is turned on, the screen will show the main menu (see Fig. 2).
Take a deep breath and then blow into the tester through the blowing nozzle, smoothly
and evenly until the buzzer stops and you hear a “pop” sound. Then stop blowing.
After blowing, the screen will show “processing…” which means the tester is analyzing
the sample. The test result will appear on the screen once the analysis ends. This will
include the type of gas and concentration. Meanwhile, the lamp light will flash. The
results will appear in one of three different ways:
1) Normal: If the “normal” message appears above the concentration value, it means
that the test result is below the alarm level set before the test procedure. If the
result is “normal”, the green light will also flash.
2) Drink: If the “drinking” message appears above the concentration value, it means
that the test result is above the alarm level set before the test procedure. If this
happens, the breathalyzer will emit an acoustic alarm and the red light will flash.
3) Passive testing: If the person that should carry out the test does not want to
cooperate (the blowing air pressure is insufficient or blowing time is too short) it is
possible to carry out a passive test. Introduce clean air in the blowing tube to clean
any alcohol residuals before carrying out the test. When the screen shows the
message “Please blow”, allow the user to blow and the press the button.
The screen will show the result of the passive test after performing the analysis. If
the user cannot blow, allow clean air into the blowing tube for a few seconds to
eliminate any prior alcohol residuals, then place the blowing opening near the

user’s nose and press the button. The screen will show the result of the test
once the analysis has concluded. Since a precise result requires actual exhaled air,
passive tests should be approximate and provisional conclusions. These tests
should not be considered definitive in a formal inspection.
Important: After carrying out a test, you may press any button to return to the test
menu, you can also program the “test result display time”. This parameter will
allow you to set how long the test results will be displayed on the screen before
automatically returning to the test menu to continue performing controls. If the
person that takes the test is appears very drunk, we recommend that you allow
clean air into the blowing tube in order to eliminate possible residuals from
previous alcohol tests, allowing more precise subsequent tests.

finished. The new blowing time will be automatically saved when you exit this menu if a
change has been made. If the value has been changed, it will be automatically saved
when you exit the menu. The save interface will appear as a reminder.
Suggestions:
1) Set the blowing time within a broad margin, so the residual air in the
blowing tube is eliminated completely and the test is more accurate.
C.D.Products S.A.

7
2) The distance between the user's mouth and the blowing opening
should be less than 3 cm during the test, so the air is not diluted and
the result will be more exact.
6.5 TEST RESULT DISPLAY TIME setup
The display time is how long the result will appear on the screen. To improve the
performance and efficiency of the breathalyzer, the result will be shown during a brief
period of time (which may be modified). The breathalyzer will then automatically return
to the test mode to continue with the tests. If this auto-return function is not required, you
may set the display time to “unlimited”. In this case, the result of the test will appear until
you press any button. You will then return to the test mode.
Press the left button to select how long you want the result displayed. Press the
right button to save the change. Press after setting the value to exit the
display time menu. If the value has been changed, it will be automatically saved when
you exit the menu. The save interface will appear as a reminder.

Important: This breathalyzer includes four AA batteries of 1.5 V. You may also use 4 Ni-Cd
rechargeable batteries with a voltage of 1.2 V and normal capacity above 2000mA for
durability purposes. If you select Ni-Cd batteries, the battery type must be changed in the
breathalyzer program or the battery indication will be incorrect. To do this, power on the unit,
then press and the right button simultaneously during one second. You will see
the battery and voltage setup menu. Check the nominal voltage on the battery, then press
the right button to confirm the selection. You may now save the new setup. Press
to exit this menu.
