SAFETY INFORMATION

Read this manual before powering up or installing the CLS Miriam. Follow the instructions
listed below and observe all warnings in this manual.
INTRODUCTION
Thank you for selecting the CLS Miriam. The CLS Miriam is an universal luminary that uses 37 Luxeon I LEDs
to create an even light-output. The CLS Miriam can be used indoor and outdoor through its waterproof (IP65)
housing. With these qualities the CLS Miriam is mountable almost everywhere.
NOTE: It is important to read this manual before you install this product.

The CLS Miriam is shipped in one package containing the following items:

• CLS Miriam RGB fixture, DMX. 37pcs Luxeon-I, medium frosted (item nr. 140000)
• CLS Miriam RGB fixture, DMX. 37pcs Luxeon-I, narrow clear (item nr. 140005)
Protection from electric shock
• Disconnect the power supply from AC power before installing, dismounting or maintaining the unit.
• Make sure all connectors are connected properly.
• Use only a source of AC power that complies with local building and electrical codes and has both
overload and ground-fault protection.
• Refer all service to a qualified technician.
Protection from injury due to falls
• Verify that all covers and mounting hardware is securely fastened.
• Block the access around the work area whenever installing or removing the unit.
Protection from burns and fire
• Do not install the CLS Miriam near a heat source.
• Do not install the CLS Miriam in a corrosive, flammable or explosive area.
• Do not modify the CLS Miriam, or install other than genuine parts.
• Do not operate the CLS Miriam if the ambient temperature exceeds 40º C.

WARNING
The CLS Miriam can be installed by using
the mounting hole. Drill a hole to secure it
in the wall, floor, ceiling, etc. Drill a second
hole for the power wire and DMX cables.
Adjust the Miriam to the preferred
position by turning the unit towards
or away from the wall.
Connect the DMX cables to the DMX
controller, then put the power wire in the
earthed socket
The CLS Miriam is ready to use.

DMX OPERATION
The CLS Miriam is controlled via DMX512. To configure the address, use the up and down buttons on the
back of the CLS Miriam. When the address is selected, the miriam stores it automatically. Next time the
Miriam is powered on, the address is restored to the address that was previously selected. The range of pos-
sible addresses is 1-510. The CLS Miriam uses 3 DMX-channels to control colour and intensity.

Note: N is the address that is selected
Master/Slave operation
The CLS Miriam can operate in a master/slave mode. The CLS Miriam has a built-in programme with two
speed selections P1 (fast) and P2 (slow). To select the master/slave mode, press the up or down button on the
back of the CLS Miriam. This selection is also stored. When the master slave/mode is selected, there can only
be one master. All other Miriams must be addressed as slave on address 1.
Test mode operation
To check if all colours work properly, it is possible to put the CLS Miriam in a test mode. Simply adjust the
address to 0. The Miriam will show all colours in a stepping order. Make sure to reset the address when
testing is done.
