If tool isequippedwith anapproved3-conductor cord
and a3-prong grounding type plug, it shouldbe
pluggedinto athree holeelectricalreceptacle, if
adapteris used to accommodate atwo-prong recep-
tacle,the adapterwire must be attachedto known
ground, (usually the screw securingreceptaclecover
plate). Neverremovethird prong. Neverconnect green
groundwire to aterminal.

INTRODUCTION
TheGUIDEMASTERTM RouterTablePush Shoehas beendesignedto helpcompletemany of the common wood-
working tasks performed on a router table.Although the pushshoe canbeused with any size of stock, its design
has beentailored for use with thin andnarrow stock. The product can be usedas a straight push shoe,asamiter
gauge,as a bit heightgauge,to checkor.set fence offset distances,and as aset-up tool for making sliding dove-
tail joints.
USAGELIMITATIONS
Tousethe pushshoeas amiter gauge requires the removalof the bottom andside fencesandthe attachment of
the miter gauge.Theconversion is very easyand should not takeanylonger than a coupleof minutes.
UNPACKINGANDCHECKINGCONTENTS
In order to simplify handling and to minimize any damagethat mayoccur during shipping,your routertablepush
shoeis packagedunassembled.Separateall partsfrom the packingmaterialsand check eachonewith the illustra-
tion and list of parts to makesure that all parts are accountedfor beforediscarding any packagingmaterial.
Warning! If any partsare missing or cannot beaccounted for,do not attemptto assemble,or usethe push shoe
until the missing parts have beenobtained.Contact your local Searsretail outlet for replacementproducts or for
the missing parts,
ASSEMBLYINSTRUCTIONS
Thefollowing tools are required to assemblethis product:
1)A mediumsizedflat bladedscrewdriver.
2) A smallphillips screwdriver.
3) A smallcrescentwrench or pliers.
Readandobserveall instructions in your Routerand RouterTableOwner'sManual beforeand when usingthis
product. Neverplacefingers in the path of the cutter,Alwaysweareyeprotection which complies with current
ANSIStandardZ87.1 FAILURETOHEEDALL WARNINGSCOULDRESULTINSERIOUSBODILYINJURY.

1) Assemblethe handleto the baseas shown in Fig.1,
using #10-32 panheadscrew, and #10-32 hexnut.

heightto be set-upquickly for this type of joint.
Note:Thegaugeisbasedon using 3/4"thick stock
when makingthe male(tenon) portion of thejoint. If
the stockisNOTEXACTLY3/4" thickthe router table
fencewill haveto beadjusted to makethe joint fit
together correctly.

Toset-upfor thisjoint,followthestepsbelow.
Set-uofor thefemale(mortise) oortion of the!oint;
1)Setthe adjustablesidefenceto the fully up position
so that the shoe isresting on theadjustablebottom
fence.
2) Positionthe shoeover the bit andraisethe bit so
that it touchesthe top of the gaugeslotasshown in
Fig,14,Thejoint is readyto be cut. Adjust thefence,
etc,for your specificapplication.
Set-uo for the male (tenon) oorttonof the!oint:
1) Setthe adjustablesidefence to the fully up position
so that the shoeis resting on the adjustablebottom
fence.
2) Positionthe shoeoverthe bit, raisethe bitso that it
touches the topand sideofthe gau'oeslot;then, move
therouter tablefencesothatit touchesthesideof the
shoeasshowninFig. 15,Thejointis readyto becut.
