CapStar - Quick Start Guide
Geng started with your CapStar torque tester.

Switching On
Turn on your CapStar by pressing the on/o buon
situated below the arrow keys. Pressing this buon
whilst the CapStar is on will turn it o.
1Starng the CapStar
The rst screens you will see are the splash screen
which then changes to show the CapStar’s serial
number and calibraon due date. The soware
version and keyboard version are also both indicated
by TM and KB respecvely.

Measurement Screen
The last measurement mode used (Peak, Click, Track or Pulse) will be automacally selected rst. This can be changed by
pressing the ‘Measurement Mode’ funcon key.
Toggle the measurement modes by pressing the funcon key unl you get to the mode you require, then you are ready to
start measuring torque with the CapStar.

Please note. To avoid over-torquing, ensure the CapStar has the correct torque range for the tool before beginning.

Clamp boles or containers on to the
CapStar using the adjustable component
xture and pegs. Select the desired
torque measurement mode, then
ghten or release the cap/closure as
required to begin obtaining readings.

Measurement Modes
The default measurement mode will be Peak. A second press will take you to Track, a third press will take you to
Click, and a fourth press will take you to Pulse (shown as icon in secondary parameter posion).

Delete
This funcon key allows you to delete the last reading or all readings taken. One press will delete the last reading
and two presses will delete all readings.
Reading List
Pressing this funcon key will show you the measurement readings currently held on the CapStar. Using the up
and down arrow keys you can scroll through the readings taken.
Stascs
This funcon key will display the following stascs from the current readings taken: count, range, mean, min,
max, standard deviaon (sigma) and 6 sigma.
Sengs
The sengs funcon key allows you to toggle through the various screen sengs. For more informaon or for
assistance with the sengs, please refer to the operators manual.
