ORIFICE STIR FANS
WARNING!
1. Only qualified electrician personnel familiar with the
construction and operation of this equipment and the
hazards involved should install and/or service this
equipment. It is important that all standard electrical
codes be observed when wiring the fan. Read and
understand all instructions and diagrams before
proceeding. Failure to observe this precaution could
result in equipment damage, severe bodily injury, or
loss of life.
2. Disconnect power source before installing or servicing
fan. Failure to disconnect power source can result in
property damage, serious injury, or death.
3. When connected to an automatic controller, FAN MAY
START AT ANY TIME.
4. IMPORTANT! Before Operating Fan, Inspect Fan For
any Object That May Obstruct Blade Rotation.
5. When this fan is used in a life support ventilation system
where failure could result in loss or injury, the user
should provide adequate backup ventilation or accept
the risk of such loss or injury.
DESCRIPTION
Installation and wiring of the Cumberland Mega-Flow
24” Orifice Stir Fan is quick and simple. Figure 1
shows the 24 inch Stir Fan. Figure 2 shows a Stir Fan
typical installation. Figure 3 shows how the Stir Fan
must be mounted to allow proper operation.

MAINTENANCE
Read WARNING statements before proceeding.
Blades, motor, and wire guards should be cleaned
periodically to decrease vibration and ensure maximum fan
life. Remove dirt with a dry brush or compressed air. DO
NOT SPRAY MOTOR WITH WATER OR CLEANING
FLUIDS.
Fan performance may be greatly reduced by damaged or
dirty shutters (if applicable). Clean and inspect shutter
periodically to ensure maximum fan performance.
BEFORE INSTALLATION
Inspect fan for damage in transit. Check for loose, missing,
or damaged parts.
If there are any missing parts or if there is any shipping
damage, do not attempt to operate fan. Contact your
Distributor.
WARRANTY
Your fan has been manufactured with the finest materials and
components available, and is backed by a one year warranty
against electrical and mechanical defects in material and
workmanship. If this fan fails to operate during this period,
return it prepaid to the place of purchase for repair or
replacement without charge at the manufacture’s option.
Damage by accident or abuse is not covered by this warranty.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may have
other rights that vary from state to state.

Installation
A. Orifice fans are intended to be securely mounted by
hanging from a chain or cable but may be installed in a
wall.
B. DO NOT install fan within 7 feet of floor or in reach of
personnel or livestock.
C. FAILURE TO GUARD MOVING PARTS MAY RESULT IN
SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
D. Disconnect AC electrical power from all equipment.
E. Make wire connections to the fan as shown on the fan
motor wiring label and in the controller manual.
F. Mount the 24” stir fans as shown in the diagram in Figure
3.
G. Ensure that all wires near the fan are secured and safely
clear from the fan blades.
H. Apply power and test the controller and fans to ensure
proper operation.
IMPORTANT! INSPECT FAN FOR ANY OBJECT THAT
MAY OBSTRUCT BLADE ROTATION.
