1.1Installation
Condensation mayoccuriftheUPS ismoved directlyfromacoldtoa
warmenvironment. The UPS mustbeabsolutelydrybefore being
installed. Pleaseallowan acclimatization timeof at least twohours.
Donot install the UPS near water or indampenvironment.
Donotinstallthe UPS where itwouldbeexposedtodirectsunlightor
near heat.
Donot blockventilation openingsinthe UPSshousing.
Donotconnectappliancesoritemsofequipmentwhichwould
overload the UPS (e.g. laser printers, etc)tothe UPS outlet sockets.
Placecablesinsuchawaythat no one can step on or tripover them.

Socket-outletsandsocketofbatteriesare earthed bythe input
powercord,pleaseinsertthepowercordintomainssocketbefore
using of UPS.
Connect the UPS onlytoan earthed shockproof socket outlet.
The buildingwiring socketoutlet(shockproofsocketoutlet)mustbe
easilyaccessibletoclosetothe UPS.
Thisisoperator installable.

UPS hasprovidedearthedterminal,inthefinalinstalledsystem
configuration,equipotentialearthbondingtotheexternalUPS
batterycabinets.
Pleasereadcarefullythefollowingusermanualandthesafetyinstructions
before installing the unit or using the unit!

Anintegralsingleemergencyswitching devicewhichprevents
furthersupplytotheloadbytheUPSinanymodeofoperation
shouldbe provided inthe building wiring installation.
Anappropriatedisconnectdeviceasshort-circuitbackup protection
shouldbe provided inthe building wiring installation.
Forthree-phaseequipmentconnectiontoan ITpower system,a
four-poledevicewhichdisconnectallphaseconductorsandthe
neutralconductorshouldbe provided inthebuildingwiring
installation.
Thisispermanentlyconnected equipment,itmustbe installed by
qualified maintenancepersonnel.
Earthconnectionessentialbeforeconnecting tothebuildingwiring
terminal.
1.2Operation
DonotdisconnectthemainscableontheUPS orthebuildingwiring
socket(grounded shockproofsocket)during operation asthiswould
removethe ground tothe UPS and of all connected loads.
The UPSoutputsocketoroutputterminalblockmaybeelectrically
livedeveniftheUPSsystemisnotconnectedtothebuildingwiring
terminal.
InordertofullydisconnecttheUPS,firstpress theStandbybutton,then
disconnect the mainslead.
Ensure that no liquidor other foreign objectscan enter the UPS.
The UPScanbeoperatedbyanyindividualswithnoprevious
experience.
1.3Maintenance, servicing and faults
The UPS operateswithhazardousvoltages.Repairsmaybecarried
out onlybyqualified maintenancepersonnel.
Caution -riskofelectricshock.Even after the unitisdisconnectedfrom
the mainspowersupply(building wiring socket),componentsinside

theUPS arestill connectedtothe batterywhicharepotentially
dangerous.
Beforecarryingoutanykind ofserviceand/or maintenance,
disconnectthe batteries.Verifythatno currentispresentand no
hazardousvoltage existsinthe capacitor or BUScapacitor terminals.
Batteriesmust be replaced onlybyqualified personnel.
Caution-riskofelectricshock.Thebatterycircuitisnotisolatedfrom
the inputvoltage.Hazardousvoltagesmayoccurbetweenthebattery
terminalsandtheground.Verifythatno voltage ispresentbefore
servicing!
Batterieshaveahighshort-circuitcurrentand poseariskofshock
Takeall precautionarymeasuresspecifiedbelowandanyother
measuresnecessarywhen working withbatteries:
removeall jewellery, wristwatches, ringsand other metalobjects
useonlytoolswithinsulated gripsand handles.
When changingbatteries,replacewiththesame quantityandthe same
type of batteries.
Donotattempttodisposeofbatteriesbyburningthem.Itcouldcause
explosion.
Donotopenordestroybatteries.effluentelectrolytecancauseinjury
tothe skinand eyes. It maybe toxic.
Pleasereplacethe fuseonlybyafuseofthesametypeand ofthe
sameamperage inorder toavoidfire hazards.
DonotdismantletheUPS,exceptthequalified maintenance
personnel.
1.4Transport
PleasetransporttheUPS onlyintheoriginalpackaging (toprotect
against shockand impact).
1.5Storage
The UPS must be stockpiled inthe roomwhere it isventilated and dry.

The On-Line-Seriesisan uninterruptiblepowersupplyincorporatingdouble
convertion technology.Itprovidesfailsafepower totheconnected
equipment.
The doubleconvertion design eliminatesall power disturbances.Arectifier
convertsthealternatingcurrentfromthesockettodirectcurrent. Thisdirect
currentchargesthebatteriesand powersthe inverter.The inverter generates
asinusoidalACvoltage topower the loads.
Intheeventofpowerfailure,the maintenance-free batteriespowerthe
inverter.

ON-Switch
Turn on UPS system:
Bypressing the ON-Switch “I”the UPS systemisturned on.
Deactivateaudible:
Bypressingthisswitchanacousticalarmcanbe

OFF-Switch
Utilitypowerisnormal,theUPS systemswitchestoStandby
mode bypressingOFF-Switch ““.Itisthenswitched to
Bypassand theinverter isoff.Atthistime,theoutput
socketsare suppliedwithvoltageviathebypassifthe utility
power isavailable.
Display Function
1:
FAULTLED
The red fault LEDlightsup and an acousticwarning
signalisissued continuouslywhen the UPS systemisin
fault condition. Press the Standbyswitchinorder toturn
off the warning tone.

BYPASS LED
The orange-coloured BYPASS LEDlightsup when the
UPS systemissupplying voltage provided bythe utility
power viathe bypass.

BATTERYLED
The green-colouredBATTERY-LEDlightsup when the
utilitypowerhasfailedandtheinverter isbeingpowered

5.1Inspection:
Inspectthe packaging carton and itscontentsfor damage.Pleaseinform
the freight carrier immediatelyif you find signsof damage.
Pleasekeep the packaging inasafeplacefor future use.
Note: Pleaseensure thattheincoming feederisisolatedandsecuredto
prevent it frombeing switched back on again.
5.2Connection:
5.2.1UPS InputConnection
Ifthe UPS isconnectedviathepowercord,pleaseuseaproper wired
andgrounded socket. Payattentiontothecapacityofthe socket: over
10AforOL1000TEXL,OL1000EXL-M&OL2000TEXL,over16Afor
OL2000EXL-M&OL3000TEXL/OL3000EXL-M.
5.2.2UPS OutputConnection
The outputofOL1000TEXL,OL1000EXL-MandOL2000TEXLare
socket-typesonly.Simplyplugtheload powercordtothe outputsockets
tocompleteconnection.
The systemmustbeinstalled
andwiredonlybylicensed electriciansin
accordancewithapplicableelectricalregulations!
When installing the electricalwiring, pleasenotethe nominalamperage of
your incoming feeder.

Besidesoutputsockets,theOL2000EXL-MandOL3000TEXL/
OL3000EXL-Munitshaveaterminalblockavailableforoutputaswell.
The terminalblockcan be wired using the following procedure:
1. Removethe terminalblockcover.
2. UseAWG14 or 2.1mm2wiresfor wiring configuration.
3.Uponcompletionoftheterminalblock wiring,checktoensurethewires
are securelyfastened.
4. Replacethe terminalblockcover.

5.3ChargeBattery:
FullychargethebatteriesoftheUPS systembyleaving theUPS system
connected tothe utilitypower for1-2 hours. YoumayusetheUPS system
directlywithoutcharging itbutthe batteryrun timemaybe shorterthan
the listed run times.
5.4Poweron theUPS:
5.4.1Utilitypowerpresent:
Press “PowerOn”buttonformorethan1second toturnonthe UPS. The
UPS will gointoself-teststatusfirst. The UPS will gointotheinverter
mode next. Atthistime,the ACInput, UPS On,Load Capacity,and
BatteryCapacityLEDswill light up.
5.4.2Utilitypower notpresent:
Even withouttheutilitypower connectedtothe UPS,the UPS still can be
turnedonbyjustsimplypressing “PowerOn”buttonformorethan1
second.The UPS will gointoself-teststatusfirst.The UPSwill thengo
intotheinvertermode.At thistime, Battery, UPS On, LoadCapacity, and
BatteryCapacityLEDswill light up.
5.5Test Function:
Testthe functionofthe UPS systembyeitherpressing the “Power On”
button or disconnecting theinputofthe UPS systemfromthe power
supply.
5.6Poweroff theUPS:
5.6.1InInverterMode:
Press ““button continuouslyformorethan 1secondtoturnoff the UPS.
ThentheUPSwill enterself-teststatus.Afterfinishing theself-test,the
UPS will enterbypass modeandtheACInputLEDandBypassLEDwill
lightup.Atthistime,theUPS mightprovide output.Disconnectthe utility
power toturn off the output.

5.6.2InBatteryMode:
Press ““buttonformorethan1secondtoturnofftheUPS.Thenthe
UPS enterintoself-teststatus.Afterfinishing the self-test,the UPS will be
turned off completely.
5.7AudibleAlarm Mute Function:
Todisablethealarminbatterymode,youmaypress “PowerOn”button
for more than 1second toclearit. However,the alarmwill be
automaticallyrestored when the batteryislowtoindicateshutdownis
imminent.
5.8OperationProcedureofExternalBatteryfor extendedrun
times (“EXL-M”Models)
The unitswithCEmarkings—
(a) Usethebatterypackwiththe following voltages:36VDC for
OL1000TEXL(3pcsof12Vbatteries),96VDCfor OL2000TEXL/
OL3000TEXL(8 pcs of12Vbatteries).Donotconnectanyother
quantitiesor voltagesof batteries.
(b) One endoftheexternalbatterycord isaplugfor connecting theUPS
and the other end hasaplug for connecting the batterycabinet
(c)Donotconnectaloadtothe UPS yet. Connectthe powercord ofthe
UPS tothe utilitysupplied power.
(d) Connectthe plug oftheexternalbatterycord totheexternalbattery
socketon the rearpanelofthe UPS tocompletethe connection and
the UPS will automaticallycharge the batterypack.
TheCaution!
The output socketsof the UPS systemmaystill be electricallycharged even
ifthepowersupplysystemhasbeendisconnectedortheBypass
switchisin
the “OFF”position.

7.1Operation
The UPS systemcontainsno user-serviceableparts.If thebatteryservice
life(3-5yearsat25°Cambienttemperature)hasbeen exceeded,the
batteriesmust be replaced. Pleasecontact your dealer.
7.2Storage
The batteriesshouldbecharged everythreemonthsfor 1-2hoursto
maintaincharge. Youshouldshortenthechargingintervalstotwomonths
at locationssubject tohigh or lowtemperatures.
