Reading and observing the instructions
in this manual, in addition to being alert
while operating the tractor, will prevent
most accidents.
BEFORE OPERATING THE
TRACTOR
1. Read this entire manual carefully be-
fore using the tractor to prevent acci-
dents or equipment damage.
2. Only allow properly trained and quali-
fied persons to operate the tractor.
3. Replace all missing, illegible or dam-
aged safety decals. See list of decals
on page 1-13.
4. Keep safety decals free of dirt or
grime.
5. To prevent falls, use the handholds and
step plates when getting on and off
the tractor. Keep step and platform
clear of mud and debris.
6. When working in the field or muddy
areas, be sure to scrape off mud or
soil from the bottom of your shoes be-
fore mounting the tractor.
7. Watch where you are going at all time.
Watch for and avoid obstacles.
8. Before starting the tractor, check to
see that there are no people around.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS 1-3

9.Before driving the tractor in reverse,
check to see that there are no people
or obstacles in your path.
10.Never operate the tractor or any other
equipment while under the influence
of alcohol or other drugs which im-
pair operation, or while fatigued.
11.When working in cooperation with
other tractors, let the other drivers
know what you are doing.
12.Do not start the engine by shorting
across starter terminals.
13.Never start the engine while standing
on the ground.
14.Do not permit anyone but the operator
to ride on the tractor unless a factory
approved passenger seat is installed.
Keep bystanders away from the trac-
tor during operation.
15.Before allowing other people to use
your tractor, explain how to operate
and lend this manual beforehand.
16.Before getting off the tractor, be sure
to stop the engine, set the brake, re-
move the key and lower the imple-
ment to the ground.

628O105A
17. Do not modify the tractor or any of its
components or any tractor function
without first consulting a DAEDONG
dealer.
18.Before starting the engine; sit in the
seat, disengage the clutch, and place
shift levers in the neutral position.
Fasten seat belt if equipped with
ROPS.
19.For your safety, a ROPS or a CAB
with a seat belt is recommended by
DAEDONG for most applications.
Check your operator’s manual and dis-
cuss with your local dealer.
Never modify a ROPS or a CAB by
welding, grinding or cutting as this may
weaken the structure. Replace damaged
components immediately. Do not attempt
repairs.
If the ROPS is loosened or removed for
any reason, replace and tighten bolts to
the proper torque. (See ROPS installa-
tion instructions.
WARNING
Always use seat belt when the trac-
tor is equipped with a ROPS and
CAB.
Never use the seat belt when trac-
tor is not equipped with a ROPS
and CAB.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS 1-5
628O107A 628O108A 628O109A
20.Use extra caution when operating
with a narrow tread width (wheels
turned in). You can improve stability
by adjusting rear wheels to the maxi-
mum tread width, see page 5-24.
(1) Max. tread width (2) Rear wheels
1. Before starting the tractor, apply the
parking brake; place the lift control le-
ver in the down position and the trans-
mission lever in neutral.
2. Avoid accidental contact with the gear
shift levers while the engine is
running. Unexpected tractor movement
can result form such contact.
3. Shut off the engine and PTO, and ap-
ply the packing brake before getting
off the tractor.
OPERATING THE TRACTOR
4. Do not park the tractor on a steep
incline.

1-6 DK65/75/80/90
628O110A 628O111A 628O112A
5. Do not operate the tractor engine in
an enclosed building without adequate
ventilation. Exhaust fumes can cause
death.
6. Pull only from the drawbar. Never hitch
to the axle housing or any other point
except the drawbar. Pulling a load from
any part of the tractor other than the
drawbar may upset the tractor caus-
ing serious injury or death.
7. If the front end of the tractor tends to
rise when heavy implements are at-
tached to the three-point hitch, install
the proper front end weight. Failure to
add weights may cause a loss of
steering control or tractor upset.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS 1-7
628O113A 628O114A
14. Watch where you are going at all
times. Watch for and avoid obstacles.
Be alert at row ends, near trees, and
other obstructions.
15.Remember that using a tractor improp-
erly is dangerous both to the opera-
tor and to any bystanders. Do not
overload the tractor. Always use
implements and attachments that are
safe, well maintained, and designed
for the task. Refer to “Specifications
of Implement Limitations” provided by
yourDAEDONG Dealer, which outlines
the maximum loads for safe tractor
operation.
8. Tighten all connections before start-
ing the engine or pressurizing hydrau-
lic lines. Always check for and
promptly repair any leaks.
9. Do not leave an implement in the raised
position when the vehicle is stopped
or unattended.
10.When installing or using any imple-
ment or attachment on the tractor, be
sure to read the implement operator’s
manual to learn safe operating pro-
cedures and observe all precautions.
11.Know your equipment and its limita-
tions.
12.When using an implement, be sure to
install the proper ballast weight on the
tractor.
13. Always back out of hazardous situ-
ations such as a steep slope, slip-
pery or mired conditions, or signifi-
cantly uneven terrain. Driving forward
out of any unstable situation may re-
sult in overturning. Extra caution is
advised when operating four-wheel
drive models as they may give the
operator a false sense of security.
16.To avoid upsets, always back up
steep slopes. Stay off hills and slopes
that are too steep for safe operation.
17. Do not operate near ditches, holes,
embankments, or other terrain fea-
tures which may collapse under the
tractor’s weight. The risk of tractor
upset is even higher when the
ground is loose or wet.
18. When working in groups, always let
the others know what you are going
to do before you do it.
19. Never “freewheel”. Disengaging the
clutch or shifting into neutral while
descending a slope could lead to a
loss of control.

1-8 DK65/75/80/90
628O115A 628O116A 628O117A
20.Never try to get on or off a moving
tractor. 1. Lock the brake pedals together when
traveling at road speeds. Brake both
wheels simultaneously when making
an emergency stop. Uneven braking
at road speeds could cause the trac-
tor to tip over.
DRIVING THE TRACTOR
(1) Brake Pedal(LH) (3) Brake Pedal Lock
(2) Brake Pedal(RH)
(A) Whenever traveling on the road 2. Always slow down before turning.
Turning at high speed may tip the trac-
tor over. Reduce speed even more
and take extra care when carrying
implements or other heavy loads.
3. Observe all local traffic and safety
regulations.
4. Turn the headlights on. Dim them when
meeting another vehicle.
5. Drive at speeds that allow you to main-
tain control at all times.
6. Do not apply the differential lock while
traveling at road speeds. Using the dif-
ferential lock at road speeds will
cause a loss of control.
7. Avoid sudden turns; especially at road
speeds. Sudden turns may result in
instability or loss of control.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS 1-9

PARKING THE TRACTOR
1. Disengage the PTO, lower all
implements, place all control levers in
their neutral position, set the parking
brake, stop the engine, and remove
the key.
2. Make sure that the tractor has come
to a complete stop before dismounting.
(1) PTO Shaft cover (2) PTO Shaft cap
OPERATING THE PTO
1. Wait until all moving components have
completely stopped before getting off
the tractor; and before connecting,
disconnecting, adjusting, cleaning or
servicing any PTO driven equipment.
2. Keep the PTO shaft cover in place at
all times. Replace the PTO shaft cap
when the shaft is not in use.
3. Before installing or using PTO driven
equipment, read the manufacturer’s
manual and review the safety labels
attached to the equipment.

628O122A 628O123A 628O124A
1. Use the 3-point hitch only with equip-
ment designed for 3-point hitch usage.
2. When using a 3-point hitch mounted
implement, be sure to install the proper
counterbalance weight on the front of
the tractor.
USING 3-POINT HITCH
1. Before servicing the tractor, park it on
a firm level surface, set the parking
brake, place the gear shift lever in
neutral and stop the engine.
2. Do not smoke when working around
the battery or when refueling. Keep
all sparks and flames away from the
battery and fuel tank. The battery emits
explosive gases; even more so when
recharging.
SERVICING THE TRACTOR
3. Keep a first aid kit and fire extinguisher
available at all times.
4. Allow the tractor time to cool off be-
fore working on or near the engine,
muffler, radiator, etc
5. Always stop the engine before
refueling. Avoid spills and overfilling.
Clean up spills immediately.
6. Before “jump starting” a dead battery,
read and follow all of the instructions.

7. Do not remove radiator cap while the
coolant is hot. When cool, slowly ro-
tate cap to the first stop and allow
sufficient time for pressure to escape
before removing the cap completely.
If the tractor has a coolant recovery
tank, add coolant there instead of to
the radiator.
8. Disconnect the battery’s ground cable
before working on or near electric
components.
9. To avoid sparks and injury from an
accidental short circuit, always dis-
connect the battery’s ground cable
first and reconnect it last.
10.Do not attempt to mount a tire on a
rim. This should be done by a quali-
fied person with the proper equip-
ment.
628O127A
11.Always maintain the correct tire
pressure. Do not inflate tires above
the recommended pressure shown in
the operator’s manual.
12.Securely support the tractor when
changing wheels or adjusting the
tread width.
13.Make sure that all lug nuts and wheel
bolts have been tightened to the speci-
fied torque.

1-12 DK65/75/80/90

(1) Cardboard (3) Magnifying glass
(2) Hydraulic line
14.Escaping hydraulic fluid under pres-
sure has sufficient force to penetrate
the skin causing serious personal
injury.
15.Before using or servicing the hydrau-
lic system, make sure that all connec-
tions are tight; and that all lines,
pipes, and hoses are free of damage.
16.Pressurized fluid escaping from pin-
holes may be invisible. Do not use
hands to search for suspected leaks.
Wear safety goggles.
17.If injured by escaping fluid, see a medi-
cal doctor at once. This fluid can pro-
duce gangrene or severe allergic
reaction.
