3.3 Appropriate use
The DIS-2/M StreamerPro HDD Large UTP is a 1-channel audio and video recorder for
analogue cameras. At the same time as recording, the audio and video data can be
transmitted in real-time as a stream via a network (RTP protocol).
The DIS-2/M StreamerPro HDD Large UTP is a stand-alone recorder with lockable drive
bay. It enables the quick and simple HDD replacement of a defective or failed HDD (no
HotPlug, no HotSwap).
The DIS-2/M StreamerPro HDD Large UTP is configured via the network using a PC /
Browser. A graphical user interface allows the configuration of all recording and streaming
settings. Two independent configuration possibilities for recording and streaming of the
audio and video data (dual streaming) provide for an effective and economical use of
storage space and bandwidth. Four input and four output contacts are available for control
and switching tasks. In addition, PTZ cameras can be connected to the serial interface.
Playback, evaluation and archiving of the recorded data are also done via the network
usingaPC /PVieworthe managementsystemSeMSy.The integrated SmartFinderfunctions
allows for a fast and intuitive search for events in a freely definable image area.

6 Audio and video connection
The DIS-2/M StreamerPro HDD Large UTP may receive audio and video signals via divers
inputs. The following setting must be conducted depending on the utilised interface.
6.1 Video IN
CVBS or S-Video
The rotary switch Video has to be set to position 8 or 9. Both positions are equal.
UTP/RS485
The rotary switch Video has to be set to position between 0 and 7. The positions are not
equal at this. The longer the video line is, the higher position of the switch must be set.
Reference values line length / switch position:
Line lenght: 10 m 100 m 200 m 300 m
Position: 0 3 4 5
The table’s values represent only reference values. The optimal adjustment is depending
on several factors, e. g. cable type, cable diameter, cable laying, video signal strength,
UTP transmitter. We highly recommend to check the displayed image and to readjust with
the rotary switch Video if necessary.
NOTE
Consider the following diagram of connections for the UTP/
RS485 interface.
Please note that the function of the BNC socket changes automatically if the UTP/RS485
interface is used as video input. The BNC socket may be used as a video OUT interface in
this case, e. g. to connect a CVBS monitor.
6.2 Audio IN
Jack plug (CVBS, S-Video)
The rotary switchAudio has to be set to position 8 or 9 if the audio signal (stereo) is feed in
via the jack plug.
UTP/RS485
The rotary switch Audio has to be set to a position between 0 and 7. The remarks on line
length and switch position (see chapter 6.1) apply accordingly.
Please note that only one audio channel (mono, left channel) is used in this case.
Furthermore there is also a change of function taking place. The Audio IN / OUT (3.5 mm
phone jack) interface outputs the received audio signal now.
