Only use the device if it is technically in proper working condion and for
the intended purpose while keeping safety and potenal dangers in mind.

The installaon, mounng, connecon, commissioning and congura-
on of the device may only be carried out by qualied personnel.
This also applies to the maintenance, tesng and repair, whereat the
regulaons of the DIN VDE 0701 series of standards (repair, modica-
on and inspecon of electrical appliances) must be followed.
• Regulaons
The use of video and audio surveillance systems is, in general, strictly
regulated.
Inform yourself about the currently valid laws and regulaons regarding
data, worker and environmental protecon before using the device and
ensure compliance with them.
• System Components
Only use internal components that have been tested and approved by
Dallmeier.
Inappropriate internal components may cause malfuncons, damages
and data loss and may result in the loss of warranty.

• CondensaonWater
If the device is brought from a cold to a warm environment, resulng
condensaon water may cause malfuncons and damages.
In this case, wait (up to 8 hours) unl the device has reached room
temperature before commissioning.

When looking directly into the switched on infrared (IR) LEDs in a dark
environment, ensure a minimum safety distance of 1 meter and short
exposure mes in order to avoid eye damage.

For the safety of persons (protecon against dangerous contact volt-
ages) and devices (protecon against over-voltages) as well as for the
immunity of informaon and communicaon technology equipment to
electromagnec interferences (EMI), all protecve measures, which are
specied by the currently valid DIN, VDE and ISO standards and which
provide for a standard-compliant earthing and a correct equipotenal
bonding of electrical and electronic devices, are mandatory and must
be fullled by all means.

• LightningStorms
To avoid damage to the device by electrical surge during lightning
storms, all protecve measures, which are specied by the currently
valid DIN, VDE and ISO standards and which provide for a standard-
compliant lightning protecon equipotenal bonding, are mandatory
and must be fullled by all means.
• OperangCondions
Unfavorable operang condions may shorten the life of the device and
may cause malfuncons, damages and data loss and may result in the
loss of warranty.
Observe the specicaons given in the technical data, the operang
condion requirements and the maintenance instrucons.
• ForeignBodies
If objects or liquids get into the device, immediately disconnect it from
the power supply (pull out the power plug or disconnect the device
from the PoE enabled PSE port).

If you noce burnt smell or a formaon of smoke coming from the
device, immediately disconnect it from the power supply (pull out the
power plug or disconnect the device from the PoE enabled PSE port).

If the original packaging is no longer available, ensure that the used pack-
aging suciently protects the device against damage, moisture, heat and
cold.

AppropriateUse
The DF5200HD-DN/IR is a weather-proof high-denion (HD) color net-
work camera for an IP-based 24-hour video surveillance with automac
day/night operaon that is supported by ambient light sensing, a me-
chanically removable infrared(IR)-cut lter (ICR) as well as an integrated
IR illuminaon.
The camera is equipped with an ambient light sensor that measures the
intensity of visible light. Depending on the lighng condions, the camera
automacally switches between day and night mode (switching threshold
level adjustable; manual switching addionally possible).
In day mode, the incorporated mechanically removable IR-cut lter
blocks out unwanted IR light and only allows visible light to pass through
so that colors in the image are reproduced without distoron (as the
human eye sees them). In night mode (when the amount of visible light
drops), the camera switches from color mode to the more light-sensive
black-and-white mode, while automacally removing the IR-cut lter so
that near-infrared light (with a wavelength of 850 nanometers) can reach
the image sensor.
The night mode is supported by the integrated homogeneous IR illumina-
on that is provided by semi-covert 850 nm high power LEDs. This allows
for a round-the-clock video monitoring even in totally dark environments.

The camera features a fast (large maximum aperture) and IR-corrected
motor-driven megapixel varifocal lens with P-Iris technology which en-
ables the control of opcal zoom (focal length), focus and iris (opmum
aperture) remotely over the network by using a web browser.
The focus posion can be automacally set by using the one-push autofo-
cus funcon and manually adjusted if needed.
Built into an IP66-rated weather-proof enclosure and delivered with an
outdoor wall mount bracket that features internal cable roung, the
camera is designed for residenal, public, commercial and industrial use
(24/7/365 connuous operaon) in both indoor and outdoor areas.
The camera is operated via Power over Ethernet (PoE, Class 0) and is com-
pable with all IEEE 802.3af compliant Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE).
Operaon
• If the device or the cables connected to the device are located near
sources with strong radiaon, the video image may be distorted.
• The device is equipped with an automac gain control (AGC). In low-
light condions the image may be altered (e.g. noise). However, this is
not a malfuncon.
• The quality of the video image depends on the lighng condions and
the used monitor.
• The accuracy of the automac white balance (AWB) algorithm depends
on the used lighng. Mixed light (consisng of arcial light and day-
light) may cause color distorons (inaccurate color reproducon).
• Poor lighng can lead to an incorrect white balance.

AmbientCondions
The device is designed for both indoor and outdoor use. However, note
that unfavorable local condions may shorten the lifeme of the product
and may cause malfuncons or damages.

• with direct sunlight,
• with strong heat emissions (e.g. radiator),
• with improper ambient temperatures,

• with corrosive surroundings (e.g. gases, salt water),
• with insucient air venlaon (e.g. closed cabinet).

Always switch o the used Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) – PoE
switch or PoE injector (midspan device) – and pull out its power plug
before disconnecng a PoE Powered Device (PD, such as the device
described in this document) in order to avoid damage to the contacts
of RJ45 plugs/jacks caused by electrical arcs between the connector
and the plug.

7 Maintenance
The device may only be opened by qualied personnel for commission-
ing, inspecon, maintenance and repair.
Cleaning
If it is necessary to clean the device, observe the following notes:
NOTICE
Damage to the surface of the device
➡Clean the housing (outside) with a so, dry and anstac cloth.
• Do not use detergents.
• Do not use microber cleaning cloths.
➡Clean the acrylic front glass with water and some dishwashing
agent using a so, non-linng cloth or sponge.
• Do not rub the acrylic front glass with a dry cloth.
• Do not use common glass cleaners.
• Do not use microber cleaning cloths.
• Avoid excessive rubbing.
• Dry gently with a clean dry cloth (e.g. glasses cleaning cloth) to
avoid scratching the surface.

The installaon and commissioning of the device may only be carried out
by qualied personnel.
