PARTS
Take the spring from one of the road wheel sets,
and insert the perpendicular end into the hole in
the circled recess. Place the suspension bar over
the spring, turning it clockwise until the stopper
is positioned to the right of the one on the hull,
then pass the axle bolt through the hole in the
bar. Secure the bolt by placing a washer, a split
washer and a nut onto the free end on the inside
of the lower hull. Hold the nut in place, and
tighten the bolt with a screwdriver.
For this stage, you will need the lower hull, the
second external fuel tank, the smoke generator,
the remaining road wheel sets (Stages 24, 26,
28, 30, 32, 34) and a screwdriver.

THE SMOKE GENERATOR
With this stage, you receive the smoke generator, which, when fitted and running,
will simulate the exhaust of the tank. You will fit the remaining road wheels, the
second external fuel tank and the smoke generator to the lower hull.

Place the two halves of the road wheel onto
the bar, and secure them with a washer
screw. Finally, press the hub cap into the
recess in the centre of the wheel.
You will need to remove the battery
compartment panel to access these
three holes.
Fit the remaining suspension bars to the
holes, as in Step 2.
Then fit the remaining wheels and hub caps
onto them.
The generated exhaust ‘smoke’ will pass
through the hole in the rear of the lower
hole, circled above. The tube coming
from the generator will need to be fitted
to the other end of this hole on the inside
of the hull.
Mount the brackets to the second external
fuel tank, and then slide them into the slots
at the rear of the lower hull, next to the
other tank.
This is where you will tighten the screws
to fix the smoke generator to the hull.
You may find it easier to do this after the
second motor has been fitted.
Insert the two posts on the underside
of the smoke generator into those in
the lower hull. You may find it easier to
secure the generator after the second
motor has been fitted.
This stage is now complete.

For this stage, you will need the lower hull, the rollers
(Stage 29), the IR receiver board (Stage 38), the battery
compartment panel (Stage 46) and a screwdriver.

DRIVE MOTOR
With this stage, you receive the second of the two motors that will power the tank’s
transmission system. You will fit three rollers, the receiver board and the battery
compartment panel, if you haven’t already.

Fit the first roller into the hole near the top
of the lower hull, at the front.
Secure the roller with a screw from the
inside of the lower hull.
Fit the other two rollers in the same way.
Place the IR receiver board onto the two
indicated posts, aligning the holes of
both parts.
Insert the two hinge tabs at one end of
the battery compartment panel into the
corresponding holes in the hull.
Half-tighten a screw into one of the holes.
Be careful, because the board can snap if
the screws are over-tightened.
Use the screw at the other end to fix the
panel in place.
Insert and carefully tighten a second screw
into the other hole. Then go back and fully
tighten the first.
This stage is now complete.

Pass the axle at the rear of the transmission
assembly through the hole in the side of the
lower hull, as shown.
For this stage, you will need the parts received, the lower
hull assembly, the two drive wheels (Stages 4 and 25), the
second motor (Stage 62) and a screwdriver.
Connect the port transmission assembly to
the second motor, as shown. 3

TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY
With this stage, you receive the second of the two transmission assemblies, to fit on
the port side.

Tighten a screw into each of the three
circled holes to secure the transmission to
the hull. At this point, you can secure the
smoke generator if you chose not to do so
in Stage 61.
Place the drive wheel over the drive
wheel axle.
Tighten a screw into each of the circled
holes to secure it to the hull.
Now place the assembled drive wheel onto
the axle, as shown.
Fit the wheel cap over the bolt in the
centre of the drive wheel.
Place a spring washer (1) and a washer (2)
onto the bolt, and then place it into the hole
in the centre of the drive wheel.
Fit the second drive wheel in the same way.
Fully tighten the bolt.
This stage is now complete.

Take the free end of the cable from the LED
board at the rear of the upper hull, and pass
it forward beween the two circled posts.
Then place one of the tabs over it.
Align the holes in the tab with those in the
posts, and tighten a screw into each one.
For this stage, you will need the upper hull, the floodlight bracket (Stage
31), the L cable (Stage 40), the screws, small tabs and hooks (Stage
60) and the screwdriver.
Insert the end of the L cable into the socket
marked L on the underside of the upper hull. 3 4

1. 7.2V battery
THE BATTERY
With this stage, you receive the 7.2V rechargeable battery that will supply power to
your tank. The battery life depends on the model load. The average operating time
of a fully charged battery with full load is 30 minutes.

Lead the cable along as shown, securing it
with three more tabs.
Insert the connector of the LL-marked cable
into the corresponding socket on the board,
as shown.
Insert the PL cable connector into the PL
socket on the board.
Fit the ends of the floodlight bracket into the
two circled holes, as shown. You may need
to glue them.
Place one of the tracks around the idler,
drive and road wheels on one side,
placing the ridges on the inside of the
treads into the spaces between the inner
and outer road wheels.
Now fit the tracks. You will need both
track assemblies (consisting of 99 treads
each), the lower hull, a hammer and a
wooden board.
Connect the two ends of the track
together with a pin.
Insert two hooks into the grooves located
on the rear plate of the lower hull. These
can be used for towing, so it’s best to glue
them into the holes.
Place the wooden board on the inside of
the track, and hammer the pin into place.
This stage is now complete.

For this stage of the assembly, you will need the parts received, both
parts of the hull (upper and lower), screws (Stages 60 and 65), fuel
hoses (Stage 43) and a screwdriver.
Place the power cable as shown, then make sure that the switch is
positioned to the left, meaning it is ‘OFF’.

PARTS
THE CONTROL UNIT
With this stage, you receive the control unit, into which all of the cables from the
various electrical components will be plugged. The following steps will complete the
assembly of your tank.

Wi-Fi camera system. Details on how to
use it are in the running guide.

Check that the smoke generator switch (cable E) is set to ‘OFF’ as
well, as shown above.
Make sure that the switch at the end of cable G is in the ‘G’ position,
which will allow it to connect to the remote.
Here you can see where the three switches and volume control
should be fitted to the lower hull. Make sure that you fit them in their
correct positions – 1: the power switch; 2: the smoke generator
switch; 3: the connectivity switch; and 4: the speaker volume control.
The speaker switch should also be set to ‘OFF’.
Before installing the electrical system, make sure that the connectivity
switch is set to ‘2.4G’ and all the other switches are set to ‘OFF’.
Screw the control unit to the bottom of the lower hull.

Take cable C, and plug its connector into socket C. Then take cable
B and plug it into socket B.
Then plug cables A, D, E and F into the sockets marked with the
corresponding letters.
Plug cables H (volume control), J (speaker) and G (IR receiver) into
their corresponding sockets.
Gather cables K, L and S, and place them between the two posts on
top of the battery compartment. Secure a tab over them.
Connect the cables from the upper hull and turret (K, L and S),
as shown.
Connect the cable from the battery to the matching socket. Then put
the battery into the battery compartment.

Before fixing the two parts of the hull together, check that the system
is operating properly. Turn the power switch to ‘ON’, and make sure
that the connectivity switch is on ‘2.4G’. Turn the remote control on,
and wait for the lights to stop flashing, which will show that the tank
is synchronised with the remote control. Try a few simple commands
to make sure that the systems are connected correctly.
Place the upper hull onto the lower hull, aligning the posts and
holes of both parts. Tighten a screw into each of the holes.
Place the loop at the end of the tow cable between the two raised
projections, and secure it with a screw. You can use the cables to
tow things – they aren’t just ornamental.
Now fit the third fuel hose, as shown.
Fit the two fuel hoses to the external fuel tanks, as shown.
Your T-72 tank is now complete!
