INSTALLATION AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
INDUSTRIAL DRYER
UNCRATING
Tools required: 3/4” hex so ket and rat het driver, knife, hannel-lo k wren h that opens to 1 3/8".
1. Remove the plasti wrap with knife. Remove ardboard rails, fillers and top ap.
2. Using a rat het and a 3/4” so ket, remove the (4) bolts atta hing the wooden skid to the dryer abinet. Save
the bolts for future moving of the dryer.
3. With a walking motion, move the dryer forward ompletely off the wooden skid. Save the skid for future
moving of the dryer.
4. T-80 only: Using the hannel-lo k wren h, adjust the leveling legs to align the ma hine with adja ent units.
Note: If the dryer is ever moved again, the dryer should be re-mounted on its pallet and its rating bolts re-
inserted and tightened, in the reverse order as above.
DRYER INSTALLATION
1. CODE CONFORMITY. All ommer ial dryer installations must onform with lo al odes or, in the absen e of
lo al odes, with the latest edition of the National Fuel Gas Code ANSI Z223.1A. Canadian installations must
omply with urrent Standard CAN/CGA-B149 (.1 or .2) Installation Code for Gas Burning Applian es or Equipment,
and lo al odes if appli able. Australian installations must meet installation requirements and pipe sizing
requirements of AS/NZA 5601. The applian e, when installed, must be ele tri ally grounded in a ordan e with
the latest edition of the National Ele tri al Code, ANSI/NFPA70, or, when installed in Canada, with Standard CSA
C22.1 Canadian Ele tri al Code Part 1.
To onne t the dryer to the supply piping, use a listed onne tor in omplian e with the Standard for Conne tors
for Gas Applian es, ANSI Z21.24 • CSA 6.10.
2. INSTALLATION CLEARANCES. This unit may be installed at the following al ove learan e. (millimeters)

Certifi ation allows 0” learan e at the top 1” (25) ba k from the front. However, a 1/4” (6)
learan e is required to allow opening the upper servi e door.
A 10” (254) clearance is required fro the top at all other points.
VI. Floor This unit may be installed upon a ombustible floor.
*Units may be installed in dire t onta t with an adja ent dryer, providing allowan e is made for opening
upper and lower servi e doors.
Do not obstru t the flow of ombustion and ventilation air.
Maintain minimum of 1” (25) learan e between du t and ombustible material.
Refer to installation label atta hed to the rear guard of the dryer for other installation information.

VERTICAL CLEARANCE DIMENSIONS
3. MAKE-UP AIR. Adequate make-up air must be supplied to repla e air exhausted by dryers on all types of
installations. Refer to spe ifi ations for the minimum amount of make-up air opening to outside for ea h dryer. This is a
net requirement of effe tive area. S reens, grills or louvers, whi h will restri t the flow of air, must be onsidered.
Consult the supplier to determine the free area equivalent for the grill being used. The sour e of make-up air should be
lo ated suffi iently away from the dryers to allow an even airflow to the air intakes of all dryers. Multiple openings
should be provided.
The sour es of all make-up air and room ventilation air movement to all dryers must be lo ated away from any
dry leaners. This is ne essary so that solvent vapors will not be drawn into the dryer inlet du ts. Dry leaner
solvent vapors will de ompose in onta t with open flame su h as the gas flame present in lothes dryers. The
de omposition produ ts are highly orrosive and will ause damage to the dryer(s) du ts and lothes loads.
4. ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS. The ele tri al power requirements ne essary to operate the unit satisfa torily are
listed on the serial plate lo ated on the ba k panel of ea h dryer and in the spe ifi ations se tion of this manual.
The ele tri al onne tion should be made to the terminal board, on the rear of the unit. It is absolutely ne essary
that the dryer be grounded to a known ground. Individual ir uit breakers for ea h dryer are required.
Individual ir uit breakers for ea h unit are re ommended. Do not use ground-fault ir uit breakers or ground-
fault ir uit interrupter outlets. The wiring diagram is lo ated on the belt guard on the ba k of the ma hine.
IMPORTANT: TRANSIENT VOLTAGE SURGE SUPPRESSORS
Like most ele tri al equipment, your new ma hine an be damaged or have its life shortened by voltage surges
due to lightening strikes whi h are not overed by fa tory warranty. Lo al power distribution problems also an
be detrimental to the life of ele tri al omponents. We re ommend the installation of transient voltage surge
suppressors for your new equipment. These devi es may be pla ed at the power supply panel for the omplete
installation and don’t require an individual devi e for ea h ma hine.
These surge prote tors help to prote t equipment from large spikes and also from small ongoing spikes in the
power that o ur on a day to day basis. These smaller surges an shorten overall life of ele tri al omponents of
all types and ause their failure at a later date. Although they an’t prote t against all events, these prote tive
devi es have a good reputation for signifi antly lengthening the useful life of ele troni omponents. Ele troni

omponents are helped to have a longer useful life when they are supplied with the lean stable ele tri al power
they like.

5. GAS REQUIREMENTS. The omplete gas requirements ne essary to operate the dryer satisfa torily are listed
on the serial plate lo ated on the ba k panel of the dryer.
The inlet gas onne tion to the unit is 3/4 in h pipe thread for T-80 and T-120.
An individual gas shutoff valve is re ommended for ea h dryer and may be required by lo al ode (not
supplied).
A joint ompound resistant to the a tion of liquefied petroleum gases should be employed in making pipe
onne tions.
A 1/8 in h NPT plugged tapping, a essible for test gage onne tion, must be installed immediately upstream
of the gas supply onne tion to the dryer.
A drip tee should be provided in the gas piping entering the unit to at h dirt and other foreign arti les.
All pipe onne tions should be he ked for leakage with soap solution. Never he k with an open flame.
The re ommended natural gas supply pressure is 7 in hes water olumn (17.8 m) at ea h dryer.
For altitudes above 2,000 feet (610m) it is ne essary to de-rate the BTU input. Conta t your lo al distributor
for instru tions.
L.P. gas onversion kits are available for this dryer. Conta t your lo al distributor.
CAUTION: The dryer must be dis onne ted from the gas supply piping system during any pressure testing of
that system. Do not expose the dryer’s gas ontrol valve to testing pressure.
6. EXHAUST INSTALLATION. Exhausting of the dryer(s) should be planned and onstru ted so that no air
restri tions o ur. Any restri tion due to pipe size or type of installation an ause slow drying time, ex essive
heat, and lint in the room.
From an operational standpoint, in orre t or inadequate exhausting an ause a y ling of the high limit thermostat
whi h shuts off the main burners and results in ineffi ient drying.
Individual exhausting of the dryers is re ommended. All heat, moisture, and lint should be exhausted outside
by atta hing a pipe of the proper diameter to the dryer adapter ollar and extending it out through an outside wall.
This pipe must be very smooth on the inside, as rough surfa es tend to olle t lint whi h will eventually log the
du t and prevent the dryer from exhausting properly. All elbows must be smooth on the inside. All joints must be
made so the exhaust end of one pipe is inside the next one downstream. The addition of an exhaust pipe
tends to redu e the amount of air the blower an exhaust. This does not affe t the dryer operation if held within
pra ti al limits. For the most effi ient operation, it is re ommended that no more than 20' (6m) of straight (8” for
T-80, 10” for T-120) diameter pipe be used with two right angle elbows. When more than two elbows are used,
2' (600mm) of straight pipe should be removed for ea h additional elbow. No more than four right angle elbows
should be used to exhaust a dryer.
Maintain minimum 1” (25) learan e between du t and ombustible material.
If the exhaust pipe passes through a wall, a metal sleeve of slightly larger diameter should be set in the wall and
the exhaust pipe passed through this sleeve. This pra ti e is required by some lo al odes and is re ommended in

all ases to prote t the wall. This type of installation should have a means provided to prevent rain and high winds
from entering the exhaust when the dryer is not in use. A hood with a hinged damper an be used for this purpose.
Another method would be to point the outlet end of the pipe downward to prevent entran e of wind and rain. In
either ase, the outlet should be kept lear, by at least 24” (610), of any obje ts whi h would ause an air
restri tion.
Never install a prote tive s reen over the exhaust outlet.
When exhausting a dryer straight up through a roof, the overall length of the du t has the same limits as exhausting
through a wall. A rain ap must be pla ed on top of the exhaust and must be of su h a type as to be free from
logging. The type using a one shaped “roof” over the pipe is suitable for this appli ation.
Exhausting the dryer into a himney or under a building is not permitted. In either ase there is a danger of
lint build-up whi h an be highly ombustible.
Installation of several dryers, where a main dis harge du t is ne essary, will need the following onsiderations for
installation. Individual du ts from the dryers into the main dis harge du t should be at a 45 degree angle in the
dire tion of dis harge air flow.
NOTE: Never install the individual du ts at a right angle into the main dis harge du t. The individual
du ts from the dryers an enter at the sides or bottom of the main dis harge du t. The main du t an be
re tangular or round, provided adequate air flow is maintained. For ea h individual dryer, the total exhausting
(main dis harge du t plus du t outlet from the dryer) should not ex eed the equivalent of 20 feet (6m) and
two elbows. The diameter of the main dis harge du t at the last dryer must be maintained to exhaust end.
NOTE: A small diameter du t will restri t air flow; a large diameter du t will redu e air velo ity – both
ontributing to lint build up. An inspe tion door should be provided for periodi lean-out of the main
du t.
NOTE: STATIC BACK PRESSURE should be a maximum of 0.3 at the rear exhaust outlet of the dryer. If
multiple dryers are onne ted to the ommon du t, ensure the ba k draft damper is installed properly.
7. DRYER IGNITION (SOLID STATE IGNITION). The solid state ignition system lights the main burner gas
by spark. The gas is ignited and burns only when the gas-valve relay (in the ele troni ontroller) alls for heat.
The pro edure for first-time starting of a dryer is as follows:
A. First, review and omply with the “WARNINGS ABOUT USE AND OPERATION” found on the inside front
over of this manual. Be sure the ele tri al power supply is onne ted orre tly. The white (neutral) wire is to
be onne ted to the N terminal while the bla k (line) wire to the L1 terminal of the terminal blo k in the rear
ontrol box. The dryer MUST be properly grounded.
B. Make sure all gas supply lines are purged of air. Close the main gas shut-off valve and wait for five minutes
before turning the valve ba k on.
C. Turn on main ele tri al power swit h. The dryer may be started by following the “OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS” found later in this manual.
D. Natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas fired dryers both operate in the same manner. When gas-valve
relay onta ts are losed (indi ating a demand for heat), the solid state ignition ontrol will automati ally supply
energy to the redundant gas valve. Spark will ontinue until a flame is dete ted by the sensing probe, but not
longer than 10 se onds. If the gas fails to ignite within 10 se onds, the gas will shut off for 15 se onds. The ontrol
will attempt to ignite two more times in a similar manner. If the gas fails to ignite after three tries, the gas valve
loses and the system will "lo k out". No further attempts at ignition will be performed automati ally. It is then
ne essary to interrupt ele tri al power to the ignition system before making another attempt to light the burners.
This an be done by opening the dryer door, allowing the dryer to ome to a stop for 15 se onds, losing the door,
and pushing the "Start" button. The dryer will then repeat the ignition trial y le.
DRYER SHUTDOWN
To render the dryer inoperative, turn off the main gas shut-off valve and dis onne t ele tri al power to the dryer.
IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE INSTALLER TEST THE DRYER FOR OPERATION AND INSTRUCT THE
USER BEFORE LEAVING THE INSTALLATION.

Opening the door or pressing the STOP tou h pad swit h will reset the fault and

Temperature fault.
The drying temperature is at least 25°F. above the temperature setting. “F5” will flash

TOUCH PAD DESCRIPTION
INDICATOR LIGHTS (L.E.D.s)
Des ription
Cycle (1 through 5) These L.E.D.s are on solid when a parti ular y le is hosen for operation or
programming.
Gas Valve This L.E.D. is part of the 4-digit numeri display and will be on solid during the drying
part of a y le when the gas valve does not need to be on. The L.E.D. will be blinking
when the gas valve needs to be on. The L.E.D. will not be on solid or blinking (off) if
the y le is stopped, omplete, in ool down, or terminated.
Programming These L.E.D.s are on solid as they are sele ted during the programming of the dryer
ontroller. The reversing L.E.D. will also remain lit during the operation of a reversing
dry y le.
Stop This L.E.D. is on solid when either the STOP button is pressed on e or the door is
opened during an operating y le.
SWITCHES (Pushbuttons)

This tou h pad swit h will in rement (in rease) dry time, ool down time, and drying
temperature. It will also s roll upwards when sele ting a dry y le or toggle between
reversing and non-reversing mode during programming.
UP/INCREASE

programming mode.
PROGRAM
This tou h pad swit h will sele t one of the three variable parts of the dry y le (dry
time, temperature, or ool down) by sequen ing through them. On e one of the
variable parts of the dry y le is hosen and hanged, this tou h pad swit h will enter
SELECT/ENTER the new ( hanged) value into the dry y le program.
This tou h pad swit h allows the dryer ontroller to enter the temporary
programming mode.
CYCLE
This tou h pad swit h will stop the dryer during a dry y le without learing the
present drying y le if pressed on e. If pressed and released twi e, onse utively,
the present dry y le will be leared.
STOP
This tou h pad swit h will start the operation of a dry y le if pressed and released
on e. Pressing and holding this tou h pad swit h will display the urrent
temperature of the dryer heat sensor as long as it is held in the depressed position.

letter “C” represents the ool down (non-heating) part of the dry y le. The
number(s) after the letter “C” represent(s) the total time remaining in the dry y le.
F5 This message appears if there is a dryer fault. The letter “F” indi ates a fault and
the number after the “F” represents the spe ifi fault that has o urred. There are
five different faults that an appear (F1 through F5).
rEv This message is displayed while in the programming mode, to indi ate the reversing
fun tion during the dry y le.
nrEv This message is displayed, while the programming mode, to indi ate the non-
reversing fun tion during the dry y le.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
To dry a load of items, you must hoose one of the five-programmed dry y les. Ea h of these five dry y les may
be modified in two different ways to mat h your load. Please, refer to the “Permanent Reversing Dryer Controller
Programming” or “Temporary Reversing Dryer Controller Programming” se tion of this manual.
There are two parts to ea h dry y le. The first part is the heating time, whi h is when the gas valve is y led on
and off a ording to the temperature setting in the dry y le program. The se ond part is the ool down time,
whi h is after the heating part of the dry y le, and when the ylinder ontinues to turn, but no heat is applied.
There will always be at least two minutes of ool down time for ea h dry y le. The maximum amount of
ool down time is 60 minutes if the ontroller has a red dot sti ker or 15 minutes if the ontroller has no red dot
sti ker.
During a reversing dry y le, the tumbler will rotate in one dire tion for one minute, de elerate for four
se onds, and then rotate in the opposite dire tion for one minute. This motion will repeat for the duration of the
dry y le. If the ontroller has a red dot sti ker, the amount of reversing time an be set to either one or two
minutes. To hange the reversing time, the 4-digit numeri al display must show "LOAd". Then, press and hold
the SELECT/ENTER tou h pad swit h and then press the UP tou h pad swit h to set the time to two minutes or
the DOWN tou h pad swit h to set the time to one minute. The buzzer will then beep to indi ate the hange
was su essful. The hange will be retained even if the power is removed. The fa tory default is one minute.
The five default dry y le values are shown in the “REVERSING DRYER CONTROLLER FACTORY DEFAULT
PROGRAM SETTINGS” table in this manual.
To improve the drying apabilities of this dryer, you should always separate (untangle) the individual arti les in
your load before using the dryer.
In the following instru tion steps, things that are displayed on the 4-digit numeri al display will be in
“quotation marks” and any tou h pad swit hes on the dryer ontroller that physi ally need to be pressed will be in
CAPITAL AND BOLD LETTERS.
1) Pla e your untangled load into the dryer ylinder and lose the dryer loading door. Noti e that the
dryer ontroller 4-digit numeri al display should show the word “LOAd”. If it does not show this word, then
press and release the STOP tou h pad swit h on the dryer ontroller twi e.
2) Press and release either the UP or DOWN tou h pad swit h on the dryer ontroller to sele t a dry y le.
3) On e the desired dry y le is sele ted, press and release the START tou h pad swit h.
After the dryer ontroller START tou h pad swit h is pressed, the dryer ylinder will start rotating and the
two-digit total dry y le time, along with a de imal point, will appear on the dryer ontroller display.
The time shown on the dryer ontroller display will ount down to the programmed ool down time. At that
time, the display will hange from the de imal point and two-digit number to a letter “C” and two digits.
The letter “C” represents the ool down portion of the dry y le. The two digits represent the amount of
time remaining in the dry y le. The two-digit time, shown on the dryer ontroller display, will ount down to
zero.
When the time de rements to zero, the dryer ontroller display will flash the work “donE” and the end of y le
tone will sound.
At that point, the wrinkle free y le will automati ally begin. This y le will wait two minutes, if the door is
not opened or the STOP tou h pad swit h on the dryer ontroller is not pressed, and then rotate the
ylinder for 10 se onds and stop. This two-minute of idle time and 10 se onds of tumble time will repeat a
total of 10 times, at whi h time the wrinkle free y le stops. The ylinder will not rotate again until a new dry
y le is started.
During the wrinkle free y le, the gas valve will not be operated and there will be no heat applied to the load.
The word “donE” will also ontinue to flash and do so even after the wrinkle free y le is finished. When
the dryer loading door is opened, or the STOP tou h pad swit h is pressed, the word “donE” will hange to
the word “LOAd” on the dryer ontroller display. The dryer will then be ready for another dry y le.
During the dry y le, either pressing the STOP tou h pad swit h on the dryer ontroller or opening the
dryer loading door will stop the dry y le and not lear it. If you press the STOP tou h pad swit h on the

ontroller and then open the dryer loading door, the dry y le will not be leared. However, if you open (or
open and lose) the dryer loading door and then press the STOP tou h pad swit h on the dryer ontroller,
the present dry y le will be leared and the word “LOAd” will appear on the dryer ontroller display.
There are two jumpers and one push button on the omponent side of the dryer ontroller printed ir uit
board.
The jumper lo ated at the lower right side of the ir uit board ontrols whether the ontroller display shows
and operates in the Fahrenheit or Celsius mode. This jumper is labeled as TEMP SELECT and has three pins.
The bottom and middle pins are for Celsius and the top and middle pins are for Fahrenheit, whi h is indi ated
by the letter C for Celsius and the letter F for Fahrenheit.
The other jumper, lo ated at the upper right side of the omponent side of the dryer ontroller ir uit board,
is used for hoosing either a reversing or non-reversing type of dryer. This jumper is labeled as REV and
NON-REV. This jumper must be in the reversing position, whi h are the top and middle pins. If the jumper is
in the non-reversing position, the dryer will not reverse dire tion.
The push button, whi h is lo ated at the lower middle side of the omponent side of the dryer ontroller
ir uit board, is used to reset all five of the dry y les to the fa tory default settings. It is labeled as DEFAULT
SETTINGS. Even the dry y les that have been modified using the permanent programming pro edure will
be hanged ba k to the fa tory default settings when using this push button. This push button must be
pressed and held for at least three se onds with power applied to the dryer ontroller ir uit board.
TEMPORARY REVERSING DRYER CONTROLLER PROGRAMMING
Temporary programming mode will allow the hange of the stored dry y le settings in the dryer ontroller for one
omplete dry y le. After the dry y le is omplete, the default settings that existed before the temporary hange
are restored. The temporary dry y le an be stopped and leared at any time during the dry y le operation.
To temporarily hange a dryer ontroller y le, follow the pro edures below. Things that are displayed on the
4-digit numeri display will be in “quotation marks”. Tou h pad swit hes on the dryer ontroller that physi ally
need to be pressed will be in CAPITAL AND BOLD LETTERS.
If, at any time, you want to es ape the temporary programming mode while hanging the program settings,
you an press the STOP tou h pad swit h on the dryer ontroller if the 4-digit numeri display is not flashing. The
SELECT/ENTER tou h pad swit h on the dryer ontroller an be pressed and released to enter the flashing value
shown on the 4-digit numeri display and allow you to es ape.
If you press and release the STOP tou h pad swit h on the dryer ontroller, when the 4-digit numeri display
is not flashing, the temporary hanges to the dry y le program will be an elled. The stored dry y le settings
that existed before the temporary hange will then be restored.
If, at any time, you want to start the temporary dry y le during the temporary programming mode, press
and release the START tou h pad swit h on the dryer ontroller if the 4-digit numeri display is not flashing. The
SELECT/ENTER tou h pad swit h on the dryer ontroller an be pressed and released to enter the flashing value
shown on the 4-digit numeri display and allow you to start the temporary dry y le. If you start the temporary dry
y le, the 4-digit numeri al display will hange the total dry time and ount down to 0 as the dry y le progresses.
PROCEDURE
1) Make sure the dryer is not in a dry y le. The 4-digit numeri display on the dryer ontroller will show “LOAd”
when the dryer is not in a dry y le.
2) Press and release either the UP or DOWN tou h pad swit h on the dryer ontroller to hoose the dry y le that
you want to hange (dry y le 1 through 5). The dry y le L.E.D. will illuminate to indi ate whi h dry y le you are
hoosing. If you press and hold down either the UP or DOWN tou h pad swit h, the ontroller will sequen e
through the five dry y les.
3) Press and release the CYCLE tou h pad swit h on the dryer ontroller on e you have hosen the dry y le
you want to hange. After you press the CYCLE tou h pad swit h, the programming L.E.D. and the dry time
L.E.D. will illuminate, the dry y le L.E.D. will remain illuminated, and the total dry time will be displayed on
the 4-digit numeri display.
