2 General safety instructions
The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage in the following cases:
•Damage to the product resulting from mechanical influences

2.1 General safety
!WARNING!
•Operate the cooker only with denatured alcohol. Do not use other
fuels such as gasoline and diesel, methanol, propane or charcoal
lighter.
•Beware of suffocation!
Ensure proper ventilation before putting the cooker into operation.
•Keep a suitable fire extinguisher in the immediate vicinity. Ensure that
the fire extinguisher is regularly checked by a specialist.
•People (including children) whose physical, sensory or mental capac-
ities or whose lack of experience or knowledge prevent them from
using this product safely should not use it without the supervision or
instruction of a responsible person.

•During and immediately after use, some accessible elements can be
very hot. Do not touch and keep children away from the device.
•Ensure after cooking that all controls are placed in the neutral position
(0).
ANOTICE!
•Use the stove only as intended.
2.2 Safety precautions when handling denatured alcohol
!WARNING!
•Keep inflammable substances away from heating and cooking devices
and other light and heat sources.
•Only store denatured alcohol in appropriate containers and well away
from the stove.
•Ensure that there is no danger of sparksand flames in the storage place
or filling location for denatured alcohol.
•Never fill the canisters in the cooker. Never pour alcohol through the
burner openings in the cover (fig. 1, page 3).
•Fill the canister only to the maximum capacity (see chapter “Fill the
cooker with denatured alcohol” on page 14). Heated denatured alco-
hol expands in the canister. Overflowing denatured alcohol causes
uncontrolled burning in the cooker.
•Overfilled canisters, spilled denatured alcohol and hot surfaces can
cause severe burns.
•Wipe away any denatured alcohol to prevent uncontrolled burning.
ANOTICE!
•Mop up any spilt alcohol immediately to prevent uncontrollable burn-
ing.
•Do not smoke when handling alcohol or when operating the stove.
•Fill the canister to the maximum capacity only. Alcohol expands in the
canister when heated. Overfilled alcohol can cause uncontrollable
burning inside the stove.

2.3 Operating the device safely
!WARNING!
•Use long matches or an extended lighter to light the burner.
Quickly remove your hand as soon as the burner ignites.
•Wear proper clothing when operating the device.
Do not wear loose hanging clothing which might catch fire.
•Let the device cool down to ambient temperature before you touch it
with bare hands.
!CAUTION!
•Keep the area surrounding the device and interior parts free of grease,
fat, alcoholic substances, plastic or inflammable cloths (for instance
curtains, towels, kitchen utensils).
•Use only pots and pans with a maximum diameter of 23 cm (20 cm
with optional potholder).
•When cooking ensure that pans and pots are securely in position. It is
advisable to use potholders (accessory, fig. 41, page 4).
•Never allow pot handles to extend beyond the edge of the stove. Turn
pot handles inward, but not extending over other burners. This will
minimize the possibility of spillage, ignition of flammable materials
and/or serious burns.
•Be careful when heating grease or oil. Grease and oil catch fire when
exposed to great heat.
•Use only dry pot cloths to prevent the formation of steam. Do not use
towels or similar materials, as these can catch fire.
•Only operate the device when you or another person can attend to it.
Pots boiling over can cause smoke and fires.
•Set the control knob to the neutral setting (0) (fig. 23, page 3)
before removing the pot or pan from the hob.
•Do not use the stove to heat the room.
•Hot parts should not be allowed to come into contact with grease,
water or any other liquids.

5 Intended use
The devices ORIGO ONE and ORIGO TWO are unpressurized alcohol stoves for use
in vehicles and boats. The cooker may only be used for cooking foods.
The stove is installed on a freestanding basis. For use on boats, the cooker can be fit-
ted with a gimbal mounting (accessory).
The cooker cannot be operated in enclosed spaces (e.g. tents or awnings). Let the
cooker cool completely before transporting it.

6 Technical description
6.1 Function description
The stove is made of stainless steel and operates according to the absorption
principle.
The denatured alcohol is absorbed in the canister of a non-combustible material. The
canisters are maintenance-free.
6.2 Control elements
7 Using the cooker
7.1 Setting up the cooker
When selecting the installation location, observe the following instructions:
•Select a well-ventilated location for the device.
•Ensure that there are no drafts in the installation location.
•Do not operate the device in areas that are potentially explosive.
•Ensure the following minimum clearances
– 50 mm to side and back walls
– 750 mm to the ceiling

•If you are using gimbal mountings (accessory), make sure that the cooker can
swing freely.
•Leave sufficient space for the vibration of the gimbal mounting.
7.2 Fill the cooker with denatured alcohol
!
➤Turn all controls to the zero position (0) (fig. 23, page 3). Otherwise the stove
top cannot be opened.
➤Ensure the stove is cooled down to ambient temperature.
➤Hold down the button on the front of the cooker (fig. 5, page 5).
➤Lift the stovetop (fig. 5, page 5).
➤Check the opening of the canister to ensure that there are neither fire nor embers.
➤Loosen the retaining clips and remove the canister (fig. 6, page 5).
➤Hold the canister obliquely downward (fig. 7, page 6).
➤Fill denatured alcohol into the mouth of the canister.
The maximum capacity of 1.2 litres per canister must not be exceeded.
✓The maximum fuel level is reached when the fuel is visible at the bottom of the
opening (fig. 8, page 6).

➤Check the permissible load capacity by holding the canister vertically down-
wards.
Keep it in this position for 20 seconds, to make sure it’s not overfilled. The excess
fuel can escape in this way.
➤Clean the outside of the canister of any remaining denatured alcohol.
➤Put in the canister so that all retaining clips lock in.
WARNING! Beware of injury.
•Never fill the canisters in the cooker. Never pour alcohol through the
burner openings in the cover (fig. 1, page 3).
•Overfilled canisters, spilled denatured alcohol and hot surfaces can
cause severe burns.
NOTE
The cooker also works when the canister is not filled to maximum
capacity.

➤Close the stovetop (fig. 26, page 3). The stovetop can only fold when the
regulator is in the zero position (0) are.
✓The catch locks.
➤Make sure that the unit is properly closed and that the cooker ports are fully
closed.
7.3 Turn on the cooker
!
➤Turn the knob all the way up (fig. 21, page 3).
✓The burner is open.
➤Light the burner by placing a long match or a long lighter to the burner opening
(fig. 9, page 7).
➤Choose the desired power setting via knob. The flame must not extend beyond
the edge of the pot.

7.4 Switching off the hob
➤Turn the respective controls to the zero position (0) (fig. 23, page 3).
➤Wait about five seconds.
➤Turn the knob all the way up (fig. 21, page 3) to check whether the flame is
extinguished.
➤Turn the knob to the zero position (0) (fig. 23, page 3).
WARNING! Beware of injury.
•Use long matches or long lighters to light the burner.
•Quickly remove your hand as soon as the burner ignites.
NOTE
If the flame immediately goes out after ignition, blow air into the burner
opening.
Then ignite the cooker as described.

7.5 Seal the canister with the sealing washer
Seal each canister with the gasket made of rubber (fig. 33, page 4) if you do not
wish to use the cooker for an extended period. In this way you prevent the evapora-
tion of alcohol.
➤Turn all controls to the zero position (0) (fig. 23, page 3). Otherwise the stove
top cannot be opened.
➤Ensure the stove is cooled down to ambient temperature.
➤Hold down the button on the front of the cooker (fig. 5, page 5).
➤Lift the stovetop (fig. 5, page 5).
➤Close the opening of the canister with the gaskets.
➤Close the stovetop.
✓The catch locks.
➤Make sure that the unit is properly closed and that the cooker ports are fully
closed.

8 Maintaining and cleaning the cooker
A
➤Occasionally clean the product with a damp cloth.
➤Remove the grate from the top of the device by gently pulling it up (fig. 0,
page 7).
➤Clean the hob (fig. 26, page 3). Carefully remove stubborn grease and oil
stains.
NOTE
Remove the rubber seals before reusing.
NOTICE!
Do not use sharp or hard objects or cleaning agents for cleaning as these
may damage the product.

The statutory warranty period applies. If the product is defective, please contact your
retailer or the manufacturer's branch in your country (see the back of the instruction
manual for the addresses).
For repair and guarantee processing, please include the following documents when
you send in the device:
•A copy of the receipt with purchasing date
•A reason for the claim or description of the fault
10 Disposal
➤Place the packaging material in the appropriate recycling waste bins wherever
possible.
MIf you wish to finally dispose of the product, ask your local recycling centre
or specialist dealer for details about how to do this in accordance with the
applicable disposal regulations.

verantwortliche Person nutzen.
•Während und sofort nach dem Gebrauch können einige zugängliche
Elemente sehr heiß sein. Nicht berühren und Kinder vom Gerät fern-
halten.
•Stellen Sie nach dem Kochen sicher, dass alle Regler in Nullstellung (0)
gestellt sind.

2.2 Sicherheit im Umgang mit Brennspiritus
!WARNUNG!
•Halten Sie brennbare Substanzen fern von Heiz- und Kochgeräten
und anderen Licht- und Wärmequellen.
•Lagern Sie Brennspiritus nur in geeigneten Behältnissen und in aus-
reichender Entfernung vom Kocher.
•Sorgen Sie dafür, dass am Aufbewahrungsort für Brennspiritus oder
am Auffüllort keine Gefahr von Funken- und Flammenbildung besteht.
•Befüllen Sie die Brennertöpfe niemals im Kocher. Füllen Sie niemals
Spiritus durch die Brenneröffnungen in der Abdeckung ein (Abb. 1,
Seite 3).
•Befüllen Sie den Brennertopf nur mit der maximalen Füllmenge (siehe
Kapitel „Kocher mit Brennspiritus befüllen“ auf Seite 24). Erwärmter
Brennspiritus dehnt sich im Brennertopf aus. Überlaufender Brenn-
spiritus verursacht unkontrolliertes Verbrennen im Kocher.
•Überfüllte Brennertöpfe, verschütteter Brennspiritus und heiße Ober-
flächen können zu schweren Verbrennungen führen.
•Brennspiritus brennt mit fast unsichtbarer Flamme, so dass ein großer
Schaden bereits entstanden sein kann, bevor Sie die Gefahr bemerkt
haben.
AACHTUNG!
•Wischen Sie verschütteten Brennspiritus immer sofort auf, um ein
unkontrolliertes Verbrennen zu verhindern.
