DIRECTIONS
Your doctor or healthcare professional has prescribed
the OXYMIZER oxygen-conserving device for you.
Used properly, this device will provide you with the
oxygen you need, as well as these added benefits:
• It will take a lower flow rate to get the same
amount of oxygen into your body, which can be
as much as 75% less (depending on the flow rate)
than a standard nasal cannula.
• If you use a portable oxygen system, it will last
longer and allow you to be away from your main
oxygen source for a longer period of time; or,
you may be able to use a smaller, lighter weight
portable system.
It is important that you follow your physician’s
instructions carefully concerning:
• How often and how long you receive oxygen
from the system.
• The flow rate to use.
(Note: The flow rate indicated for use with the
OXYMIZER device may be 1/4 - 1/2 of the
amount prescribed with a non-oxygen-conserving
cannula.)
• When to replace your OXYMIZER device.
HOW TO WEAR THE OXYMIZER DEVICE
Slide the loop adjustment collar (bola) down
to enlarge the size of the loop.
1.
With the back of the
facepiece toward you,
pick up the OXYMIZER
with one of the small
flexible plastic tubes in
each hand, as if putting
on a pair of eyeglasses.
2.
Place the flexible plastic tubing
over your ears (as shown in diagram below)
and under your chin or pass the tubing over
your ears and around the back of your head.
3.
The facepiece should
rest on your upper lip
under your nose with the
oxygen-delivering prongs
extending well into and
pointing towards the
back of your nose.
4.
Slide the bola up
toward your chin so
that the cannula fits
snugly and comfortably
against your face.
5.
Connect the female
connector to your oxygen
source.
6.
Turn on the oxygen and set the flow rate
as prescribed by your doctor or healthcare
professional. (Note: The flow rate prescribed
for use with this device may be 1/4 - 1/2 of
the amount prescribed with a non-oxygen-
conserving cannula.)

Pendant
Device
You may also be interested in the OXYMIZER
Pendant device (pictured above and below). In
this version, the oxygen-conserving mechanism is
contained within the pendant, which rests against
your chest and can be easily concealed by your
clothing.
REPLACEMENT
The OXYMIZER oxygen-conserving devices
should be replaced after approximately three
weeks. More frequent replacement may
be needed for cleanliness and sanitation,
depending on conditions of use.
HUMIDIFICATION UNNECESSARY
Since less total oxygen is passing over the
nasal mucosa, the drying effect of oxygen
is significantly less and supplementary
humidification can usually be eliminated.
Since excessive moisture could impede the
membrane action of the OXYMIZER device,
use with humidifiers should be avoided.

INSTRUCCIONES

INSTRUCTIONS
Votre médecin ou votre professionnel de la santé
vous a recommandé d’utiliser le système OXYMIZER
à conservation d’oxygène. Bien utilisé, ce système
vous fournira l’oxygène dont vous avez besoin. Il
offre aussi les avantages suivants:
• Il permet de diminuer le débit d’oxigène jusqu’à

tout en maintenant le même niveau d’oxygène
dans votre corps.

COMMENT PORTER VOTRE OXYMIZER
Glissez la bague d’ajustement du collier
(bola) vers le bas pour agrandir la boucle.

Avec la face arrière de la
pièce faciale orientée vers
vous, tenez l’OXYMIZER
par les petits tubes
flexibles dans chaque
main, comme si vous
mettiez des lunettes.
2.
Placez la tubulure flexible par-dessus vos
oreilles (comme illustré plus bas) et sous
votre menton, ou par-dessus vos oreilles et
derrière votre tête.
3.
La pièce faciale devrait
reposer sur votre lèvre
supérieure sous votre
nez avec les canules
oxygénantes bien insérées
dans votre nez, pointant
vers l’arrière.
4.
Faites glisser la bague
d’ajustement (bola) vers
votre menton de manière
à ce que la pièce faciale
s’ajuste confortablement à
votre visage.
5.
Branchez le connecteur
femelle à votre source
d’oxygène.
6.
Ouvrez l’alimentation en oxygène et ajustez
le débit comme recommandé par votre
médecin ou votre professionnel de la santé.

Dans cette version, le mécanisme de conservation
d’oxygène est contenu dans un pendentif au
niveau de votre poitrine et il peut facilement être
dissimulé sous vos vêtements.
REMPLACEMENT
Les systèmes OXYMIZER à conservation
d’oxygène doivent être remplacés environ
toutes les trois semaines. Des remplacements
plus fréquents peuvent être nécessaires pour
des raisons sanitaires, selon l’utilisation que

HUMIDIFICATION SUPERFLUE

HOW TO PUT ON THE OXYMIZER PENDANT
1. Uncoil the tubing
completely. Hold the
device so that the
front of the Pendant is
facing away from you.
(Note: The front of the
Pendant is designated
with slots.)
2. Position the nasal
prongs so that they fit
comfortably into your
nostrils. The prongs
should extend well into
and point toward the back of your nose.
3. Position the nasal
prongs and extend
the tubing across your
cheekbones.
4. Place the tubing
around your ears and
adjust each side so
that you have a snug,
comfortable fit. Do not
allow the tubing to go
completely around your Neck. This may
create a choking hazard.
5. Attach the tubing clip to join both
sides of the cannula
tubing. Slide the
clip upward beneath
your chin to hold the
tubing in place (you
may choose not to
use the clip simply by
removing it).
6. The Pendant
portion should rest
against your chest
below your throat. You may want to tuck
it under your shirt or blouse.
7. Connect the female connector to your
oxygen source.
8. Turn on the oxygen and set the flow
rate as prescribed by your doctor or
health care professional. (NOTE: The
flow rate prescribed for use with this
device may be 1/4-1/2 that prescribed
with a non-oxygen-conserving cannula.)

CLEANING
The disposal OXYMIZER oxygen-conserving
devices are clean and ready to use, and
are supplied in individual containers. The
outer surface may be cleaned with soap and
water, but care must be taken not to allow the
membrane within the reservoir to become wet.

COMO USAR EL DISPOSITIVO OXYMIZER

Your doctor or healthcare professional has prescribed
the OXYMIZER oxygen-conserving device for you. Used
properly, this device will provide you with the oxygen you
need, as well as these added benefits:
It will take a lower flow rate to get the same
amount of oxygen into your body, which can be as
much as 75% less (depending on the flow rate)
than a standard nasal cannula.
If you use a portable oxygen system, it will last
longer and allow you to be away from your main
oxygen source for a longer period of time; or, you
may be able to use a smaller, lighter weight portable
system.

HOW TO WEAR THE OXYMIZER DEVICE
Slide the loop adjustment collar (bola) down to
enlarge the size of the loop.
1.
With the back of the face-
piece toward you, pick up the
OXYMIZER with one of the
small flexible plastic tubes in
each hand, as if putting on a
pair of eyeglasses.
2.
Place the flexible plastic tubing over your ears
(as shown in diagram below) and under your
chin or pass the tubing over your ears and
around the back of your head. Do not allow
the tubing to go completely around your Neck.
This may create a choking hazard.
3.
The facepiece should rest
on your upper lip under
your nose with the oxygen-
delivering prongs extending
well into and pointing towards
the back of your nose.
4.
Slide the bola up toward
your chin so that the cannula
fits snugly and comfortably
against your face.
5.
Connect the female
connector to your oxygen
source.
6.
Turn on the oxygen and set the flow rate
as prescribed by your doctor or healthcare
professional. (Note: The flow rate prescribed for
use with this device may be 1/4 - 1/2 of the amount
prescribed with a non-oxygen-conserving cannula.)

Device
You may also be interested in the OXYMIZER Pendant
device (pictured above and below). In this version, the
oxygen-conserving mechanism is contained within the
pendant, which rests against your chest and can be
easily concealed by your clothing.
REPLACEMENT
The OXYMIZER oxygen-conserving devices should
be replaced after approximately three weeks. More
frequent replacement may be needed for cleanliness
and sanitation, depending on conditions of use.
HUMIDIFICATION UNNECESSARY
Since less total oxygen is passing over the nasal
mucosa, the drying effect of oxygen is significantly
less and supplementary humidification can usually be
eliminated.
CLEANING
The disposal OXYMIZER oxygen-conserving devices
are clean and ready to use, and are supplied in
individual containers. The outer surface may be
cleaned with soap and water, but care must be taken
not to allow the membrane within the reservoir to
become wet.
DISPOSAL
Disposal for your device should be done in
accordance with local regulations.
