Shock&Glass Breakage Detector
LC-105DGBbelongstothenewgeneration ofglass breakagedetectors.TheLC-105DGBcandetectglass cutting bydiamondinaddition
totheimproveddetection ofglass breakage.Thisisachievedbyournewall-digitalsignalprocessing.
The LC-105DGBoffersthe solution forthe false-alarmsproblem.The LC-105DGBdetectsthe unique patternsofsound emitted bybreaking or
cutting glass.The LC-105DGBdoesnothavetobe attached tothe window,providing volumeprotection,and allowsthe protection ofseveral
windowsusing one detector.

TYPICALINSTALLATION
Mounting
The detectoroffersflexibleinstallation.It can be eitherceiling mounted orwall mounted asshowninFig.1.
Selecting mounting location
If heavy blindsorcurtainscoverthe glass,you mustlocatethe detectorbehind the blindson the windowframeoraboveit, otherwisethe blinds
mightblock the sound.Makesuretotestthe unitthoroughlyusing aglass breaksimulatorforproperdetection.Install the detectorinadirect
line ofsightwiththe protected glass.Donotmountthe unitinfrontofairducts,orclosetobells(measuring 0.5morlargerindiameter).For
protecting severalwindowsinone room,locatethe detectoratoptimaldistancefromthemtoachievethe bestdetection.
Note:forsymmetricalcoverofthe detection area itisrecommended toplacethe detectoron the ceiling.
CONNECTINGTHEDETECTOR(Fig.2,3&4)
1.Useasmall screwdrivertoreleasethe top ofthe caseand lift open the case(Fig.3-1,2)Thereisno need toremovethe PCB(Printed Circuit
Board)fromthe case).
2.Insertthe wiresthrough the wiring hole(Fig.3-3).
3.Usethe mounting holes(Fig.2-A)tomountthe detector.
4.Connectthe wirestothe terminal.(Fig.4).
5.Closethe case.
JUMPERS
LEDON:LEDSenabled
LEDOFF:LEDSdisabled
Shock ON:Thisisthe normalworking mode.Bothbreaking glass sound and breaking glassshock-wave
arenecessaryforgenerating an alarm.
Shock OFF:Thismode isused onlyforinstallation settings.The sound ofbreaking glass isenough togeneratean alarm.
WIRECONNECTIONS
TerminalBlock Connections(See fig.4).
Terminal1(Marked"-").Connecttothe returnVoltage orground ofthe controlpanel.
Terminal2(Marked"+").Connecttothe positiveVoltage of9-16 VDC source(usuallyfromthe alarmcontrolunit).
Terminals3&4(MarkedTAMPER).If aTamperfunction isrequired connecttheseterminalstoa24 hoursnormallyclosed protectivezone in
the controlunit. If the frontcoverofthe detectorisopened,an immediatealarmsignalwill be senttothe controlunit.
Terminals5&6(MarkedRELAY).Thesearethe outputrelaycontactsofthe detector.Stand by-N.C/Alarm-N.O

ControlsLtd.DigitalSecurityControlsLtdneitherassumesresponsibilityfor,norauthorizesanyotherperson purporting toacton itsbehalftomodifyortochange thiswarranty,nortoassumeforitanyotherwarrantyor

Motion detectorscan onlydetectmotion withinthe designated areasasShownintheirrespectiveinstallation instructions.Theycannotdiscriminatebetween intrudersand intended occupants.Motion detectorsdo not
provide volumetricarea protection.Theyhavemultiplebeamsofdetection and motion can onlybe detected inunobstructed areascovered bythesebeams.Theycannotdetectmotion whichoccursbehind walls,ceilings,
floor,closed doors,glass partitions,glass doorsorwindows.Any
type oftampering whetherintentionalorunintentionalsuchasmasking ,painting,orspraying ofanymaterialon the lenses,mirrors,windowsoranyotherpartofthe detection systemwill impairitsproperoperation.
Passiveinfrared motion detectorsoperatebysensing changesintemperature.Howevertheireffectiveness can be reduced when the ambienttemperaturerisesnearorabovebodytemperatureorifthereareintentional
orunintentionalsourcesofheatinornearthe detection area.Someoftheseheatsourcescouldbe heaters,radiators,stoves,barbeques,fireplaces,sunlight, steamvents,lighting and soon.
WARNING:DigitalSecurityControlsLtd,recommendsthattheentiresystembecompletelytestedon aregularbasis.However,despitefrequenttesting,and dueto,butnotlimitedto,criminaltampering
orelectricaldisruption,itispossibleforthisproducttofail toperformas expected.

TESTING THEDETECTOR
Setthe jumpersasfollows:LED=ON,SHOCK=ON.
1.Usethe simulatorinmanualmode tosimulatethe noiseofglass breaking .Check thatthe yellowLEDisON.If itdoesnotlight, asensitivity
calibration isnecessary.Rotatethe "SENS"potentiometerclockwisetoincreasethe sensitivity,and counterclockwisetodecreaseit. 2.Useyour
hand orapadded objecttofirmlystrikeon doorortable.If the green LEDdoesnotlight, adjustthe sensitivityasnecessary.3.Usethe Simulator
inautomaticmode and check thatthe red LEDlights.If the red LED,yellowLEDand green LEDSareON,yourdetectorisworking properly.
*Cutting ofglass byadiamond causesonlythe red LEDtolight. If the red LEDdoesnotlighttryadjusting the sensitivityuntil the red LEDlights.
FINALTESTING
*Setthe jumpersasfollows:LED=ON,SHOCK=OFF.
*Toensuremaximumprotection againstfalsealarms,activateanydeviceinthe area,whichmightautomaticallyactivate,likecyclepumps,
generators,heating/airconditioning units,etc.If thesdevicestriggeran alarm,mountthe unitinadifferentlocation.
*Setthe jumperstotheirnormalworking position:SHOCK=ON.
WIRESIZE REQUIREMENTS
Use#22 AWG(0.5mm)orwireswithalargerdiameter.Usethe following tabletodetermine required wiregauge (diameter) and lengthofthe
wirebetween the detectorand the controlpanel.
