3 Connecting analogue alarm dialers to DALMx000
DALMx000 supplies a simulated analogue telephone line on the ”LINE OUT” screw terminal. Here, two
wires are connected to the analogue dialer's line connection (e.g. T & R). DALMx000 receives the number
dialed by the dialer and sends a start tone for SIA or Contact ID depending on how the device is
programmed during system programming.
SIA level I, II or III
DALMx000 receives and decodes SIA at levels I, II or III, i.e. including plain text.
Contact ID
DALMx000 receives and decodes Contact ID. In the event of Contact ID alarms, customer ID is ignored
whilst area, events and section are sent to the alarm centre.
Alarm management SIA I, II and III
For SIA, as soon as DALMx000 has received the entire alarm correctly from the dialer, the alarm is
acknowledged and then delivery attempts are made to the receiver. If the transfer to the alarm centre
after all attempts via fixed Internet or GPRS/3G failed for some reason, output REL1 on DALMx000
activates (closes or opens for two seconds, depending on how the output is programmed during system
programming).
Note: The above means that output REL1 should, when connecting a SIA dialler to DALMx000, be
connected to a section on the connected dialer so that a local alarm can be activated in the event of a
transmission problem.
Alarm management Contact ID
For Contact ID, as soon as DALMx000 has received the entire alarm correctly from the dialer, delivery
attempts to the IP receiver are made. An acknowledgement tone is not sent to the dialer until the IP alarm
is acknowledged from the alarm receiver. To handle instances where the dialer manages to hang up before
the acknowledgement tone is delivered, all message parameters are stored in an internal alarm queue and
marked ”acknowledged” or ”not acknowledged”. If the dialer manages to hang up to call its secondary
number before DALMx000 has time to get an acknowledgement from the alarm receiver, at the next
attempt from the dialer DALMx000 will verify that the alarm message is identical to the previous one
(which is now in the alarm queue marked as ”acknowledged from alarm receiver”) whereupon the
message is immediately acknowledged to dialer and removed from the internal alarm queue.
NOTE that DALMx000's internal error inputs, e.g. GPRS/3G errors, use event codes 81-85. These codes
may not be used in connected dialers.
NOTE that transmitter ID programmed in DALMx000 are used in the event of an alarm to the alarm centre,
i.e. even in the event of a called alarm from connected analogue dialers, which means that when
DALMx000 is installed in an existing system, the alarm receiver must be informed that the system changes
ID to the ID stored in DALMx000.
NOTE that alarms are always sent to the receiver addresses programmed into DALMx000, receiver
numbers dialed by the connected analogue dialer are ignored.
