1. INTRODUCTION
The DVI-7330 is an HDCP compliant ber optic transport system capable of
distributing high resolution DVI and HDMI signals over a single optical ber with
cable lengths up to 300 meters (1,000 ft.).
DVI and HDMI input signals from a source device such as a PC, cable set-top
box, or Blu-Ray player are converted into light pulses by an optical transmitter
module for transmission over a single strand of multimode ber optic cable. On
the display side, an optical receiver module converts the light pulses back to high-
speed serial data for display on a monitor or projector equipped with an HDMI or
DVI input.
These unique capabilities make the DVI-7330 an ideal solution for a wide range of
digital display applications that require awless digital signal quality over very long
cable runs.
Our professional digital distribution products have been serving the industry
for over ten (10) years. DVIGear offers a full line of high-quality Digital Matrix
Routers, Switchers, Splitters, Video Scalers, Up/Down/Cross Converters, Format
Converters, Analog-Digital Converters, as well as a wide range of long-reach
Digital Cables, Extenders, and Optical Transmission systems.

4. INSTALLATION
This product includes both a Transmitter and a Receiver unit. The Transmitter unit
should be connected to the DVI output port of the signal source (such as a PC).
The Receiver should be connected to the DVI input port of a digital display. This
product may be connected to an HDMI source and/or display using a DVI Female
to HDMI Male Adapter Cable (DVIGear p.n. DVI-8511b).
The DVI signal components are routed from the Transmitter unit to the Receiver
unit using an optical cable with 1 ber that is terminated with LC optical
connectors. The optical cable must be multi-mode ber.

1. Connect the ber optic cable to the optical ports on the Transmitter
and Receiver units.
2. Connect the Transmitter unit to the source (e.g., PC, Blu-Ray,
receiver/switcher output).
3. Connect the Receiver unit to the display (or receiver input, switcher
input).
4. Connect the supplied AC Power Adapters (or working USB port) to
the power input jacks on the Transmitter and Receiver units and then
to an AC power source.
5. Turn ON the Display, and then turn ON switchers and other distribution
equipment (if it exists). Finally, turn ON the source. Test the system to
ensure proper performance.

6. TROUBLESHOOTING
If the system fails to display a signal, power OFF all devices and verify that the
following connections are properly installed:
• TheTransmitterUnitmustbeconnectedtotheSource.TheReceiver
Unit must be connected to the Display.
• BoththeTransmitterUnitandtheReceiverUnitmustbeconnected
to separate external power supplies that are connected to a working
power source. Conrm there is power to both devices.
• TheberopticcablemustberoutedtotheLCopticalportonthe
Transmitter and Receiver units. If there are multiple strands of
ber, the same strand must be used on both ends. For example,
Fiber Strand #1 must be connected to the optical port on both the
Transmitter and Receiver units.
• Onceallconnectionshavebeenveried,powerONthemonitorrst,
then any intermediate equipment such as switchers, and nally the
DVI signal source.
• Ifthesystemstillfailstodisplayanimage,andiftherearemultiple
bers in the cable, use another ber to conrm that the ber was not
damaged during installation or termination.
If the system still fails to display an image, check to ensure that the DVI signal
source is compatible with the display by making a direct connection between
the two so as to bypass the DVI-7330 DVI + HDCP Fiber Optic Extender. If there
is still no image, then there is a compatibility issue between the source and the
display that must be resolved.
After trying the above suggestions, should the problem still persist, contact your
