forconnectionofthebuslinearesuppliedwiththedevice.

Description
Theekinex®6-foldpushbutton(max12functions)isaS-
modeKNXdeviceforon/offswitchingofloads,dimming
oflightingdevices,controllingofmotordrivesorotherpro-
grammableswitchingandcontrolfunctions.Itisequipped
withanintegratedKNXbuscommunicationmoduleandis
designedforwallinstallationonushmountingbox.The
devicehastwoLEDsforeachchannelprogrammablefor
exampleasastatussignalororientationnightlight.The
pushbuttonhastobecompletedwithfourrockersanda
framethatmustbeorderedseparately.Pushingarocker,
thedevicesendsonthebusatelegram,whichisreceived
andexecutedbyoneormoreKNXactuators.Thedevice
ispoweredbytheKNXbuslinewithaSELVvoltage30
Vdcanddoesnotrequireauxiliarypower.

Three-positions rockers with central neutral position have
to be mounted on a pushbutton. Pushing one side of a
rocker(forexampletheupperone),thepushbuttonsen-
ds on the bus a telegram for switching on, increasing
the brightness of luminaires or raising the blinds, while
pushingtheotherside(forexamplethelowerone),itsen-
dsatelegramforswitchingoff,reducingthebrightnessof
luminairesorloweringtheblinds.Eachchannelisequip-
pedwithLEDswhichcanbefreelyprogrammedasstatus
feedbacksoftheloadsandasorientationnightlight.

Customization of rockers
Therockerscanbecustomizedwithsymbolsandtexts,
formoreinformationseethestandardlibraryontheeki-
nex®catalogorthewebsitewww.ekinex.com.Onrequest
itisalsopossibleacustomizationwithsymbolsandtexts
chosenbythecustomer.
Protection for construction site
Aprotectionforconstructionsiteisincludedinthedelivery
of the device. The protection is made of thermoformed
transparentplasticand avoidsthedirtyingof thedevice
causedbythepaintingofthewalls.Tworeliefsincorre-
spondenceofeachrockerallowtheoperationofthechan-
nelalsowhentheprotectionisappliedonthepushbutton.
If necessary the protection for construction site can be
orderedseparatelywiththecodegiveninthetable.

Mounting
ThedevicehasdegreeofprotectionIP20,andistherefo-
resuitableforuseindryinteriorrooms.Theinstallationof
thedevicerequiresthefollowingsteps:
a) x the metallic support (5) with the screws supplied
(6)onthewallbox(7)providedwithsuitablexingholes;
b)snaparectangularframe(2)oftheformorankseries,
insertingitfromtherearofthedevice(4);
c)enterthebusterminal,previouslyconnectedtothebus
cableinitssloton the rear side(seealso:“Connection
oftheKNXbusline”).Atthispointitisrecommendedto
carryoutthecommissioningofthedevice(seealso“Con-
gurationandcommissioning”)oratleastthedownload
ofthephysicaladdress;
d) mounting the device on the metallic support supplied
(5)withthescrews(3).Thecorrectmountingofthede-
viceoccurswhenthebusterminalislocatedinthelower
part; for mounting the device follow also the indication
TOP(arrowtippointingup)ontherearsideofthedevice.
e)snapthesixrockers(1)onthedevice.
The6-channelpushbuttoncanbemountedonaround,
asquareorarectangularwallushmountingbox.Ifne-
cessary,themetallicsupportformountingonthewallbox
canalsobeorderedseparatelyusingthecodeshownin
thetable.

Note. Programming pushbutton and LED are only
accessible from the rear side of the device. It is bet-
ter addressing the device before the nal assem-
bly of rockers and frame. Once the addressing has
been performed, the device conguration can be la-
ter downloaded without pressing the programming
pushbutton.

Conguration and commissioning
Conguration and commissioning of the device require
theuseoftheETS®(EngineeringToolSoftware)program
V4orlaterreleases.Theseactivitiesmustbecarriedout
accordingtothedesignofthebuildingautomationsystem
donebyaqualiedplanner.
Commissioning
Forcommissioningthedevicethefollowingactivitiesare
required:
• maketheelectricalconnectionsasdescribedabove;
• turnonthebuspowersupply;
• switch the device operation to the programming mode
by pressing the programming pushbutton located on
therearsideofthehousing.Inthismodeofoperation,
theprogrammingLEDisturnedon;
• download into the device the physical address and the
congurationwiththeETS®program.
At the end of the download the operation of the device
automatically returns to normal mode; in this mode the
programming LED is turned off. Now the bus device is
programmedandreadyforuse.
