Introduction
The next chapter in reading
The Elonex eBook turns the next page in the history of reading. eBooks are a
revolution in the written word and mark one of the biggest technological
developments since prehistoric Cave Paintings, the Quill and the Gutenberg
printing press.
The Elonex eBook is a great new way for you to enjoy reading your favourite
books. The eBook lets you carry around thousands of eBooks, pictures and
files with you, wherever you go. It’s incredibly thin and light, and the long
battery life means you can enjoy up to 8000 pages between charges.
What are eBooks?
Rather than books being printed on paper, eBooks (or electronic books) are
digital edition books that are downloaded from the internet and can be read on
your eBook reader. This not only lets you carry around a library’s worth of
books in one hand but is also incredibly environmentally friendly, as every new
eBook you get doesn’t involve any trees being cut down!
100 free eBooks!
To get your eBook collection started we have preloaded your eBook with 100
of the all time classic eBooks for you to enjoy!
How does it work?
eBook uses innovative e-Ink® technology within the screen which is the
thickness of a credit card. Each page of the book is electronically printed on
the screen. It is non-flicker and non-glare so reading is gentle on the eye, even
in direct sunlight!
eBooks also have the unique function in that you can change the font size
which is great if you have difficulty reading normal print. The eBook supports
PDF and ePub reflow which is a method of resizing the eBook content to help
you get the best display on the screen.
