MOUNTING
1. Locate, drill and tap (4) mounting bolt holes.
(Bolts and washers are supplied with unit.)
See Dimensions on pages 3 and 4.
IMPORTANT
Rollers extend 0.079" (2,01 mm) above the
top of the mounting block. To insure that
top of rollers will be even with top of press
bed, locate top of pre-roller arm 0.079"
(2,01 mm) below the top of the press bed.
If press is equipped with die lifters, posi-
tion the top of the pre-rollers even with the
top of the rollers on the die lifters when en-
ergized.
2. Install mounting block on the machine.
Tighten the mounting bolts "snug".
3. Set pre-roller arm into the mounting block.
4. Using the set screws in the mounting block and
the level adjustment bolt on the bottom of the
pre-roller arm, adjust arm so that it is 90° to
the front of the press. Pre-roller should be level
horizontally or tilted slightly so that the die rolls
toward the machine.
5. Torque mounting bolts. See chart for
recommended torque values.
6. Recheck final position of arm, if position has
changed, repeat step 4 (loosen mounting bolt
if set screws need to be re-adjusted).
7. Holes are provided in mounting block for
optional roll pins (shown in dimension drawings).
If optional pins are used, drill hole in press with
mounting block in place and arm in final position.
Roll pin holes can be pre-drilled according to
dimensions shown on pages 3 and 4.
Insert roll pins.
OPERATION
Before using pre-roller, be sure that:
1. Die weight does not exceed the rated capacity
of the pre-roller. Ratings on page 1.
2. Top of pre-roller lines up with top of press bed
or top of rollers on die lifters.
3. Mounting bolts are tightened to proper torque.
To use pre-roller:
1. Set die on pre-roller.
2. Flip die stop to "UP" position.
3. Guide die into press.
4. When new setup is needed, remove die from
press and slide onto pre-roller.
5. Lower die stop only when die table is in place,
ready to accept die.
WARNING
Die stop must be "UP" to prevent the die
from rolling off of the end of the roller.
Failure to place the stop "UP" may result
in personal injury or property damage.
MAINTENANCE
1. Keep moving parts free of dirt and debris.
2. Lubricate rollers on a periodic basis.
3. Check mounting location and mounting bolt torque periodically.
Die stop must be in the
"UP" position to prevent
the die from rolling off.
