SAFETY
The unit is designed for indoor or outdoor use.
WARNING – INSTALLATION AND SERVICE
• The unit is only to be installed, operated, maintained and serviced by qualified
persons only. Operation of units such as these can be hazardous and should be
serviced by persons with the proper training and qualifications.
• The unit and the Product Manual have markings, warning and instructions on the
safe operation of the unit that must be adhered to.
• The unit should be secured if necessary to prevent it from toppling over.
• The unit is not to be used by the infirmed or children unless they are supervised
by responsible persons qualified to carry out the supervision.
• All panels must be re-installed after carrying out any maintenance work
WARNING – REFRIGERATION CIRCUIT
• The chiller contains refrigerants under high pressure. The system also contains
oils under high pressure. Before the refrigeration circuit can be opened, the
refrigerant should be reclaimed to reduce pressure in the system
• Failure to recover the refrigerant to relieve pressure or the use of refrigerants or
refrigerant substitutes that are not specified for the unit may result in system
rupture and explosion.
WARNING – WATER CIRCUIT
• The liquids to be cooled must be compatible with the materials used in the
constructions of this unit – the unit is designed to cool potable water only
• Do not allow the unit to run dry
• If the unit is connected to the mains supply and the water pressure is above
500kPa a pressure limiting valve must be fitted
• Minimum water temperature set point is 10C – do not set the water temperature
below this
WARNING – MANUAL HANDLING
• The units are quite heavy – the units should be handled by 2 people.
WARNING – ELECTRICAL
• All wiring must be performed by qualified electricians. Improperly installed wiring
and grounding may result in electrocution and fire hazards
• The unit contains electrical components that operate at mains voltage and
contains moving parts. It therefore must be isolated from the electrical supply
before being serviced. All maintenance operations that require access to the
unit must be carried out by suitably qualified technicians who have a thorough
understanding of all necessary precautions associated with refrigeration and
electrical machinery.
• To avoid these hazards all wiring must be installed in accordance with all the local
relevant safety standards for wiring
• Where the above symbol is shown there are live electrical parts and the utmost
care should be taken
• Always isolate power from the unit when working on it.

TANK SHOWER JUNCTION BOX
The Junction Box is a subsystem which monitors water level, water temperature, emergency
shower and eyewash activations, and controls all electrical components contained within the
Tank Shower. The Junction Box is installed with the Tank Shower.

Wiring and Testing Instructions
(for Electricians)
After installation of junction box to Tank Shower, with the junction box cables connected
to connection box on the tank, proceed to commissioning of the tank shower. Once the
commissioning of the tank shower and eye wash is complete, ensure the tank is filled with
water again, then proceed to connection of Back-to-Base signals and mains power supply to
the junction box.
IMPORTANT: TANK MUST BE FILLED WITH WATER AND COMMISSIONED BEFORE
TURNING ON MAIN POWER
WIRING PROCEDURE
Note: Junction box must be wired by licensed electrician.
1. Back to Base Signal
B2B (back to base signal) interface has two alarm signals being sent to PLC in base. The
signal is relay dry contact signal. Open switch identifies the activated alarm.

A. Connect the emergency alarm signal cable to terminal marked “a” and “b”
(refer figure 1 – excerpt from wiring diagram)
B. Connect the low water alarm signal cable to terminal marked “c” and “d”
(refer figure 1 – excerpt from wiring diagram)

TEST PROCEDURE AFTER WIRING
1. Once powered, check if the backlit sign and downlight are on.
2. Check if the emergency alarm can be active (switch open) when the shower / eyewash are
activated.
3. For initial set up only:
a. Check the low water alarm signal can be active (switch open) when the tank is empty.
b. Check there is no low water alarm signal (switch closed) when the tank is filled up with
water.
NOTE:
The default trigger point for the low level water alarm is 7.5 minutes before the tank runs
empty.
4. To check chiller function, access inside the pallet and locate the screen on the front of the
chiller unit. Check that there are no error codes displayed on the screen.

Component Specifications
SYSTEM FUNCTIONS
Shower And Eyewash Switches Activation Function:
• The emergency alarm of back to base signal is activated if shower or eye washer switch is
activated.
• The Act. Light(the local red alarm light) is on if shower or eye wash is activated.
• The sounder is on if shower or eye wash switch is activated.
Low Water Level Alarm Function:
• The maintenance alarm of back to base signal is activated if water level is lower than 1400L.
• The Amber Maint. Light is on if water level is lower than 1400L.
• The sounder is on if water level is lower than 1400L and when low water audio key switch is on.
Note: When water level is lower than 1400L, low water level switch of float station is opened.
Empty Water Alarm Function:
When Empty switch (opened) in float station identifies the tank is empty:
• The back to base maintenance alarm is activated.
• The Amber Maint. Light is activated.
• The local sounder alarm is activated when low water audio key switch is on.
• Chiller is disabled.
• Heater is disabled.
Heater And Chiller Redundancy Safe Guard
• The maintenance alarm of back to base signal and Amber Maint. Light is activated if water
temperature Tw <Tmin or Tw > Tmax.
• The sounder is activated if Tw <Tmin or Tw > Tmax.
• The heater is disabled if Tw > Tmax or the chiller is working.
• The chiller is disabled if Tw < Tmin.
Note: Tw is water temperature read from the temperature sensor Temp2. Tmin=16°C, Tmax=35°C.
(The standard recommends that the water temperature range for safety shower is 15.6°C ~ 37.8°C).

Constant Lights
Constant lights include the green light and back sign light.
• The green light is constantly on for 24/7
• The back sign light is constantly on for 24/7
Sounder Silencer
• The sounder is disabled if the mute key switch is at “off” status and the shower/eye wash is not
activated.

Tank Shower Chiller Unit
The emergency tank shower chiller subsystem (Enware number 678653) is a safe and reliable
modular water chiller subsystem designed to chill 1400 litres of water to 16 ~ 35°C. The
chiller subsystem is located in the space provided within the existing moulded recess of the
tank shower pallet.
The chiller operation will be enabled by an external +24 VDC signal and connecting interface.
The chiller temperature sensing technology is connected to an external PT1000 temperature
sensor with interface.
The subsystem operates within the power requirements as defined below.

SUBSYSTEM FUNCTIONS
Input signal: Chiller enable signal:
The subsystem is controlled by an external +24 VDC signal to enable the operation of the
chiller. 0 VDC signal is to disable the chiller. The +24VDC signal is controlled by system
controller.
Chilling Water:
The standard recommends that the water temperature range for safety shower is 15.6°C ~
37.8°C.
When water temperature is “> T on” the chiller pump and compressor is turned on. The chiller
chills water to temperature “T off”.
The default values are T off=24 ± 2°C, T on=33 ± 2°C which allows 2°C tolerance.

SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE
Warning: Always isolate the power from the chiller before working on the unit.
Warning: Always ensure that personnel have read and understood the SAFETY section of this
manual prior to working on the unit.
The units are designed to be low maintenance however some preventative maintenance is
recommended to extend the life of the product.
Recommended preventative maintenance program:
Operational check Frequency

Condenser fins cleaned Every 6 Months
Cables - inspect all cables to check no damage from hot spots or sharp points Every visit
Troubleshooting:
Water not cold • If compressor does not start when controller reads >20C points to faulty controller
• If compressor does not start, check wiring integrity
• If compressor does not start, check temperature of the compressor – maybe over heating
• Compressor starts at the same time as the fan – do they both come on? If not, maybe faulty
compressor or faulty fan
Water not cold • No flow through the heat exchanger – check if there is frosting on the evaporator – excess frosting
points to low water flow
• No flow through the heat exchanger – remove one of the water lines and check flow
• Check current draw on the pump – maybe tight or tightening up
Water not cold • Problems with the refrigerant system – gas leaks will cause the unit to trip on the low-pressure safety
switch installed next to the fan
• When the unit is running check the refrigerant flow though the sight glass – if there are bubbles then
the system may need a top up of gas after a refrigeration mechanic has checked the system
• If it is suspected that there is a refrigerant leak do not run the unit – it my draw moisture into the
system
Water leaks • Check fittings – 4 in total by removing the access panel.
• Check that the pressure relief valve on the tank hasn’t opened – it is set at 1000kPa on the small
units – 800kPa on the larger units - so there may be too much pressure which would point to the
pressure limiting valve that is installed being faulty or the pressure relief valve being faulty
