Chapter 1 Overview
1
Overview
This chapter explains the components of the TM-m30 printer driver package and the operating environment.
System Overview
The TM-m30 printer driver is a printer driver for the EPSON TM printer. TM Print Support Library is also
available as a print settings support library. For information on TM Print Support Library, see TM Printer Print
Support Library Manual.

Restrictions
When TextEdit is used to print, the left and right margins cannot be set to less than 1 inch (2.54 cm).
If you need to change the IP address of the printer or other communication settings, delete the existing print
queue from [Printers & Scanners] and then add the print queue again.

Installation
This chapter explains the procedures for installing and uninstalling the TM-m30 printer driver.
Installing the Printer Driver
Installing
1Connect the printer to the computer with an interface cable, load paper, and then
turn on the printer.
If you are on an Ethernet/wireless connection, connect to the network and then turn on the printer
power.
2Click TM-m30_xxx.dmg in the location where you saved it. 
Double-click TM-m30_xxx.pkg to start the installer.
3The "Welcome to the TM-m30 Mac Printer Driver Installer" screen appears. 
Click the [Continue] button.
Close [Printers & Scanners] in [System Preferences] before installing or uninstalling the printer
driver.
While settings are being saved, do not turn off the printer power or disconnect the printer.
The screens of Mac OS X 10.10 are shown in this chapter. If you are using a different version of
Mac OS, proceed as appropriate for the screens in your version.
To install or uninstall the print driver, an administrator “Name” and “Password” is necessary.

4The "Software License Agreement" screen appears. Check the contents and click the
[Continue] button.
5The license agreement confirmation message appears. Click the "Agree" button.

6The "Select a Destination" screen optionally appears. Click the [Continue] button.
7The "Standard Install on "Macintosh HD"" screen appears. Click the [Install] button.
8The OS administrator authentication screen appears. Enter a [Name] and [Password]
and click the [OK] button.
Start the install.

9The "TM USB Class Setting Tool" screen appears. Select the [Connect printer via net-
work] checkbox and click the [Continue] button.
10The "The Installation was completed successfully." screen appears. Click the [Close]
button.
This completes the printer driver installation. To use the printer driver to print, a print queue must be added.
See "Adding the Print Queue" on page 12 to add the printer.

Adding the Print Queue
Follow the steps below to add the print queue.
1Select [System Preferences] - [Printers & Scanners] to open the "Printers & Scanners"
screen. Click the [+] button.
Make sure the printer power is on while you add the print queue.

2The "Add" screen appears. Select the printer to be added from the list and set [Name],
[Location], and [Use]. When finished, click the [Add] button.
Set [EPSON TM-m30] for [Use]. If you want to add multiple printers, add the printers one by one.
3The "Printers & Scanners" screen appears again. The print queue is registered in the
printer list.
This completes the procedure for adding the print queue.

Changing the USB Class
Follow the steps below to change the USB class to vendor class or printer class.
1Select [System Preferences] - [Printers & Scanners] to open the "Printers & Scanners"
screen. Double-click the printer in the list to open the print queue screen. 
Click [Settings].
2Start TM Launcher. Select the [Utility] tab and click the [Open Printer Utility] button.
Make sure the printer power is on while you change the USB class.
This modification is unnecessary when the initial setting is USB printer class.

3The "TM Launcher" screen appears. Select [TM USB Class Setting Tool].
4The "TM USB Class Setting Tool" screen appears. Select the checkbox of the printer
for which you want to change the USB class and click the [Continue] button.
5If the USB class is changed successfully, the following screen will appear. Click the
[Quit] button.
This completes the procedure for changing the USB class.

Uninstalling the Printer Driver
Uninstalling
1Click TM-m30_xxx.dmg in the location where you saved it. 
Double-click TM-m30_xxx_Uninstall to start the uninstaller.
2The "Uninstalling the Printer Driver" screen appears. Click the [Uninstall] button.
3The operating system's administrator authentication screen appears. Enter a [Name]
and [Password], and click the [OK] button.
Start the uninstall.

4Following screen appears. Click [OK].
This completes the procedure for uninstalling the printer driver. To delete the print queue, see "Deleting the
Print Queue" on page 17.
Deleting the Print Queue
The print queue remains even after the print driver is uninstalled. Follow the steps below to delete the print
queue.
1Select [System Preferences] - [Printers & Scanners] to open the "Printers & Scanners"
screen. Select the print queue that you want to delete, and click the [-] button.

2The confirmation message appears. Click the [Delete Printer] button.
3The print queue is deleted from the printer list in the "Printers & Scanners" screen.
This completes the print queue deletion procedure.

Printer Network Settings
This chapter explains how to configure network settings such as the IP address of the printer. EpsonNet Config
is used to configure the network settings. (The explanations assume that Safari is used for the Web browser. If
you are using a different browser, proceed as appropriate for your browser.)
1Connect the printer to the network and turn on the printer power.
2Print a status sheet and check the current IP address.
To print a status sheet, hold down the push button at least 3 seconds when the printer is in the ready
status.
3Start your Web browser. Enter the IP address that appears in the status sheet into the
address bar to start EpsonNet Config.
IP address: http://(IP address)/
4The screen for inputting your [Name] and [Password] appears. Input these items,
then click [Log in].
When setting an IP address, make sure the IP address is not already in use for another network
device or computer.
The initial setting of "Name" and "Password" for EpsonNet Config are following.
Name: epson
Password: epson

5The "Basic Information" screen appears. Click [TCP/IP] under [Configuration].
6The "TCP/IP-IPv4 Address" screen appears. Configure the network settings. 
When finished, click the [Send] button.

Acquiring the IP Address Select [Manual].
IP Address Set the IP Address.
Subnet Mask Set the Subnet Mask.
Default Gateway Set the Default Gateway.
Set Using Automatic Private 
IP Addressing (APIPA)
Select [Disable].
Set IP Address Using ARP + Ping Select [Disable].
IP Address Printing Select [Disable].
