Congratulations!
You have purchased a high-quality product. Familiarise yourself with the product
before assembly and before using it for the first time. Please read the following
assembly and operating instructions and safety notices carefully. Use the product
only as described and for the range of applications specified. Retain these
instructions for future reference. Please also pass these operating instructions
on to any future owner(s).
Intended use
This appliance is intended exclusively for the weighing of food in private house-
holds. It is not intended for commercial or industrial applications. This appliance
may only be used when fully assembled.
The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for damage caused by failure to
observe these instructions, improper use, incompetent repairs, unauthorised
modifications or for the use of non-approved replacement parts.

Safety guidelines
To ensure safe operation of the appliance, follow the safety guidelines set out
below:
WARNING – RISK OF INJURY!
■ Prior to use, check the appliance for visible external damage. Do not operate an
appliance which has been damaged or dropped.
■ People who, due to their physical, intellectual or motor abilities, are incapable of
operating the appliance safely may only use the appliance under the supervision
or direction of a responsible person.
■ Do not allow children to use the appliance unless they are being supervised.
■ Ensure that you do not put your fingers between the bowl and the scale when
you are filling the bowl. Risk of crush injuries!
■ All repairs must be carried out by authorised specialist companies or by the
Customer Service department. Improper repairs can pose significant risks to the
user. They will also invalidate any warranty claim.

CAUTION – PROPERTY DAMAGE
■ Defective components must always be replaced with original replacement parts.
Compliance with safety requirements can only be guaranteed if original replace-
ment parts are used.
■ Do not allow any liquids or moisture to get into the appliance.
■ Do not place any objects on the scale when it is not in use.
■ Protect the appliance against knocks, dust, chemicals, extremes of temperature,
etc. and keep it away from sources of heat (ovens, radiators).
■ Do not press down on the weighing mechanism.
■ Do not press on the plastic cover of the weight display.
■ Do not expose the appliance to high temperatures.
■ Do not load the scale with more than 5 kg. The scale could be irreparably
damaged.
Preparation
Unpacking
1. Remove all parts of the scale and the operating instructions from the box.
2. Remove all packing material from the scale. Remove the cable ties and the
paper from below the weighing mechanism.
3. Clean the appliance as described in the section "Cleaning and Care".
WARNING – RISK OF SUFFOCATION!
► Do not allow children to play with packaging materials. There is a risk of
suffocation.
Disposal of packaging materials
The packaging protects the appliance from damage during carriage. The pack-
aging materials have been selected for their environmental friendliness and ease
of disposal, and are therefore recyclable.
Returning the packaging to the materials cycle conserves raw materials and
reduces the amount of waste that is generated. Dispose of packaging materials
that are no longer needed in accordance with applicable local regulations.
NOTE
► If possible, keep the original packaging of the appliance during the warranty
period so that the appliance can be packed properly for returning in the
event of a warranty claim.

Installation
1. Place the scale on a flat and stable surface.
2. Remove the two outer crews 2from the weighing mechanism using an
open-ended spanner (SW 7) and a Phillips screwdriver.
3. Place the cradle 3on the weighing mechanism so that the holes for the
screws 2are arranged one above the other and the bent arms of the
cradle 3are pointing upwards.
4. Push the screws 2through the holes in the cradle 3and screw the nuts 4
onto them from below (see fold-out page).
5. Place the weighing bowl 1onto the cradle 3.
NOTE
► The appliance may only be used when fully assembled.
Weighing food
CAUTION – PROPERTY DAMAGE!
► Do not load the scale with more than 5 kg. The scale could be irreparably
damaged.
1. If you have not done this already: place the weighing bowl 1on the
cradle 3.
2. Turn the zero setting wheel 5until the pointer 6points to zero.
3. Place the food in the weighing bowl 1.
The pointer 6shows the weight on the scale 7.
–Read the outer digits on the scale 7for the weight in kilograms/grams.
–Read the inner digits on the scale 7for the weight in pounds (lb)/
ounces (oz).

Cleaning and care
CAUTION – PROPERTY DAMAGE!
Do not allow any liquids to get into the scale.
This could impair the functionality of the appliance.
Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
These could damage the upper surfaces of the appliance.
1. Wipe the scales with a damp cloth. For stubborn soiling use a mild detergent
on the cloth. Wipe off any detergent residue using a cloth moistened with
clean water only.
2. Remove the weighing bowl 1from the cradle 3 and wash it in warm
water and a mild detergent. Afterwards, rinse it with plenty of clean water
to remove all detergent residues. Dry the weighing bowl 1thoroughly.
NOTE
► You can also wash the bowl 1in the dishwasher!
Storage
♦ Store the scales in a clean and dry location.
♦ Do not place any objects in the weighing bowl 1during storage.
Disposal of the appliance
Dispose of the appliance in an environmentally friendly manner.
Dispose of the appliance via an approved waste disposal company or your
municipal waste disposal facility. Please observe applicable regulations.
Please contact your waste disposal facility if you are in any doubt.

Dear Customer,
This appliance has a 3-year warranty valid from the date of purchase. If this product
has any faults, you, the buyer, have certain statutory rights. Your statutory rights
are not restricted in any way by the warranty described below.
Warranty conditions
The validity period of the warranty starts from the date of purchase. Please keep
your original receipt in a safe place. This document will be required as proof of
purchase.
If any material or production fault occurs within three years of the date of purchase
of the product, we will either repair or replace the product for you at our discretion.
This warranty service is dependent on you presenting the defective appliance
and the proof of purchase (receipt) and a short written description of the fault
and its time of occurrence.
If the defect is covered by the warranty, your product will either be repaired or
replaced by us. The repair or replacement of a product does not signify the begin-
ning of a new warranty period.
Warranty period and statutory claims for defects
The warranty period is not prolonged by repairs effected under the warranty.
This also applies to replaced and repaired components. Any damage and defects
present at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking.
Repairs carried out after expiry of the warranty period shall be subject to a fee.
Scope of the warranty
This appliance has been manufactured in accordance with strict quality guidelines
and inspected meticulously prior to delivery.
The warranty covers material faults or production faults. The warranty does not
extend to product parts subject to normal wear and tear or fragile parts such as
switches, batteries, baking moulds or parts made of glass.
The warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged, improperly used
or improperly maintained. The directions in the operating instructions for the product
regarding proper use of the product are to be strictly followed. Uses and actions
that are discouraged in the operating instructions or which are warned against
must be avoided.
This product is intended solely for private use and not for commercial purposes.
The warranty shall be deemed void in cases of misuse or improper handling, use
of force and modifications/ repairs which have not been carried out by one of
our authorised Service centres.

To ensure quick processing of your case, please observe the following instructions:
■ Please have the till receipt and the item number (e.g. IAN 12345) available as
proof of purchase.
■ You will find the item number on the type plate, an engraving on the front page
of the instructions (bottom left), or as a sticker on the rear or bottom of the appli-
ance.
■ If functional or other defects occur, please contact the service department listed
either by telephone or by e-mail.
■ You can return a defective product to us free of charge to the service address
that will be provided to you. Ensure that you enclose the proof of purchase (till
receipt) and information about what the defect is and when it occurred.

Informatie bij deze gebruiksaanwijzing
Hartelijk gefeliciteerd!
Met uw aankoop hebt u voor een hoogwaardig product gekozen. Maak uzelf
voorafgaand aan de montage en de ingebruikname vertrouwd met het product.
Lees hiertoe aandachtig de volgende montage-instructies, gebruiksaanwijzing en
veiligheidsvoorschriften. Gebruik het product uitsluitend op de voorgeschreven
wijze en voor de aangegeven doeleinden. Berg deze gebruiksaanwijzing
zorgvuldig op. Geef alle documenten mee als u het product doorgeeft aan een
derde.
Gebruik in overeenstemming met bestemming
Dit apparaat dient uitsluitend voor het wegen van levensmiddelen in het privé-
huishouden. Het is niet bestemd voor gebruik in bedrijfsmatige of industriële
omgevingen. Dit apparaat mag alleen volledig gemonteerd worden gebruikt.
De fabrikant is niet aansprakelijk voor schade als gevolg van het niet in acht
nemen van de gebruiksaanwijzing, gebruik dat niet volgens de bestemming is,
ondeskundige reparaties, ongeoorloofd uitgevoerde veranderingen of gebruik
van niet toegelaten vervangingsonderdelen.

OPMERKING
► De schroeven en moeren zijn bij levering op het apparaat gemonteerd.
► Controleer of het pakket compleet is en of er sprake is van zichtbare
schade.
► Neem contact op met de service-hotline (zie hoofdstuk Garantie en
service ) als het pakket niet compleet is, of indien er sprake is van schade
door gebrekkige verpakking of transport.

zijn levensmiddelveilig.
Veiligheidsvoorschriften
Neem de volgende veiligheidsvoorschriften in acht voor een veilige omgang met
het apparaat:
WAARSCHUWING - LETSELGEVAAR
■ Controleer het apparaat vóór gebruik op zichtbare schade aan de buitenzijde.
Gebruik geen apparaat dat beschadigd of gevallen is.
■ Personen die wegens hun lichamelijke, geestelijke of motorische vermogens niet
in staat zijn om het apparaat veilig te bedienen, mogen het apparaat alleen ge-
bruiken onder toezicht van of na instructie door een verantwoordelijk persoon.
■ Sta kinderen alleen toe het apparaat onder toezicht te gebruiken.
■ Zorg ervoor dat zich geen vingers tussen de schaal en de weegschaal bevinden
wanneer u het te wegen product in de schaal legt. Gevaar voor beknelling!
■ Laat reparaties aan het apparaat alleen uitvoeren door geautoriseerde vakbe-
drijven of door de klantenservice. Ondeskundige reparaties kunnen resulteren in
aanzienlijke gevaren voor de gebruiker. Bovendien vervalt dan de garantie.

LET OP - MATERIËLE SCHADE
■ Defecte onderdelen mogen alleen worden vervangen door originele reserveon-
derdelen. Alleen bij deze onderdelen is gewaarborgd dat ze voldoen aan de
veiligheidseisen.
■ Bescherm het apparaat tegen vocht en het binnendringen van vloeistoffen.
■ Plaats geen voorwerpen op het apparaat als het buiten gebruik is.
■ Bescherm het apparaat tegen stoten, stof, chemicaliën, sterke temperatuurschom-
melingen en warmtebronnen die te dichtbij zijn (ovens, verwarmingspanelen).
■ Druk niet met geweld op het weegmechanisme.
■ Druk niet op de kunststofafdekking van de gewichtsindicatie.
■ Stel het apparaat niet bloot aan hoge temperaturen.
■ Belast de weegschaal met niet meer dan 5 kg. Anders kan de weegschaal
onherstelbaar beschadigd raken.
Voorbereidingen
Uitpakken
1. Haal alle onderdelen van de weegschaal en de gebruiksaanwijzing uit de doos.
2. Verwijder alle verpakkingsmateriaal van de weegschaal. Verwijder ook de
kabelbinders en het papier onder het weegmechanisme.
3. Reinig het apparaat zoals beschreven in het hoofdstuk "Reiniging en onderhoud".
WAARSCHUWING - GEVAAR VOOR VERSTIKKING!
► Verpakkingsmateriaal mag niet door kinderen als speelgoed worden
gebruikt. Er bestaat verstikkingsgevaar.
De verpakking afvoeren
De verpakking beschermt het apparaat tegen transportschade. De verpakkings-
materialen zijn niet schadelijk voor het milieu. Ze zijn gekozen op grond van
milieuvriendelijkheid en daarom recyclebaar.
Het terugvoeren van de verpakking in de materiaalkringloop betekent een be-
sparing op grondstoffen en zorgt voor minder afval. Voer niet meer benodigde
verpakkingsmaterialen af conform de plaatselijk geldende voorschriften.
OPMERKING
► Bewaar, indien mogelijk, de originele verpakking gedurende de garan-
tieperiode van het apparaat, om het apparaat bij een garantiekwestie
volgens de voorschriften te kunnen verpakken.

Montage
1. Plaats de weegschaal op een vlakke, stevige ondergrond.
2. Draai de buitenste schroeven 2van de weegschaal los met behulp van
een steeksleutel (SW 7) en een kruiskopschroevendraaier.
3. Leg de schaaldrager 3zodanig op het weegmechanisme dat de gaten
voor de schroeven 2op elkaar liggen en de gebogen delen van de schaal-
drager 3omhoog wijzen.
4. Steek de schroeven 2van boven af door de gaten in de schaaldrager 3
en draai van onder af de moeren 4op de schroeven (zie uitvouwpagina).
5. Leg de schaal 1op de schaaldrager 3.
OPMERKING
► Het apparaat mag alleen volledig gemonteerd worden gebruikt.
Levensmiddelen wegen
LET OP - MATERIËLE SCHADE
► Belast de weegschaal met niet meer dan 5 kg. Anders kan de weegschaal
onherstelbaar beschadigd raken.
1. Plaats zo nodig de schaal 1op de schaaldrager 3.
2. Draai de nulstelling 5tot de wijzer 6op nul staat.
3. Leg de levensmiddelen in de schaal 1.
De wijzer 6geeft het gewicht aan op de schaalverdeling 7.
–Lees de buitenste cijfers op de schaalverdeling 7af voor het gewicht in
kilogram/gram.
–Lees de binnenste cijfers op de schaalverdeling 7af voor het gewicht in
pond (lb.)/ons (oz.).

Reiniging en onderhoud
LET OP - MATERIËLE SCHADE
Zorg ervoor dat er geen vloeistof in de weegschaal komt.
Dit heeft een nadelige invloed op de werking van het apparaat.
Gebruik geen schuur- of oplosmiddelen.
Deze kunnen het oppervlak van het apparaat aantasten.
1. Veeg de weegschaal af met een vochtige doek. Doe bij hardnekkig vuil een
mild afwasmiddel op het doek. Verwijder eventuele afwasmiddelresten met
een met water bevochtigde doek.
2. Neem de schaal 1van de schaaldrager 3 af en reinig deze in warm
water met wat mild afwasmiddel. Spoel de schaal daarna met schoon water
af, zodat alle afwasmiddelresten verwijderd zijn. Droog de schaal 1af.
OPMERKING
► U kunt de schaal 1ook in de vaatwasser reinigen.
Opbergen
♦ Berg de weegschaal op een schone en droge plaats op.
♦ Leg geen voorwerpen die u wilt bewaren in de schaal 1.
Apparaat afvoeren
Voer het apparaat op een voor het milieu verantwoorde wijze af.
Voer het apparaat af via een erkend afvalverwerkingsbedrijf of via uw gemeente-
reiniging. Neem de momenteel geldende voorschriften in acht. Neem bij twijfel
contact op met de verantwoordelijke instantie.

Geachte klant,
U hebt op dit apparaat 3 jaar garantie vanaf de aankoopdatum. In geval van
gebreken in dit product hebt u wettelijke rechten tegenover de verkoper van het
product. Deze wettelijke rechten worden door onze hierna beschreven garantie
niet beperkt.
Garantievoorwaarden
De garantieperiode geldt vanaf de datum van aankoop. Bewaar de originele
kassabon. U hebt de bon nodig als bewijs van aankoop.
Als er binnen drie jaar vanaf de aankoopdatum van dit product een materiaal- of
fabricagefout optreedt, wordt het product door ons – naar onze keuze – voor u
kosteloos gerepareerd of vervangen. Voorwaarde voor deze garantie is dat bin-
nen de termijn van drie jaar het defecte apparaat en het aankoopbewijs (kassa-
bon) worden overlegd en dat kort wordt omschreven waaruit het gebrek bestaat
en wanneer het is opgetreden.
Wanneer het defect door onze garantie wordt gedekt, krijgt u het gerepareerde
product of een nieuw product retour. Met de reparatie of vervanging van het
product begint er geen nieuwe garantieperiode.
Garantieperiode en wettelijke aanspraken bij gebreken
De garantieperiode wordt door deze waarborg niet verlengd. Dat geldt ook voor
vervangen en gerepareerde onderdelen. Eventueel al bij aankoop aanwezige
schade en gebreken moeten meteen na het uitpakken worden gemeld. Voor repa-
raties na afloop van de garantieperiode worden kosten in rekening gebracht.
Garantieomvang
Het apparaat is op basis van strenge kwaliteitsnormen met de grootst mogelijke
zorg vervaardigd en voorafgaand aan de levering nauwkeurig gecontroleerd.
De garantie geldt voor materiaal- of fabricagefouten. Deze garantie geldt niet voor
productonderdelen die blootstaan aan normale slijtage en derhalve als aan
slijtage onderhevige onderdelen kunnen worden aangemerkt, of voor bescha-
digingen aan breekbare onderdelen, bijv. schakelaars, accu’s, bakvormen of
onderdelen die van glas zijn gemaakt.
Deze garantie vervalt wanneer het product is beschadigd, ondeskundig is ge-
bruikt of is gerepareerd. Voor deskundig gebruik van het product moeten alle
in de gebruiksaanwijzing beschreven aanwijzingen precies worden opgevolgd.
Gebruiksdoeleinden en handelingen die in de gebruiksaanwijzing worden afge-
raden of waarvoor wordt gewaarschuwd, moeten beslist worden vermeden.
Het product is uitsluitend bestemd voor privégebruik en niet voor bedrijfsmatige
doeleinden. Bij verkeerd gebruik en ondeskundige behandeling, bij gebruik van
geweld en bij reparaties die niet door ons erkend servicefiliaal zijn uitgevoerd,
vervalt de garantie.

Afhandeling bij een garantiekwestie
Voor een snelle afhandeling van uw aanvraag neemt u de volgende aanwijzingen
in acht:
■ Houd voor alle aanvragen de kassabon en het artikelnummer (bijv. IAN 12345)
als aankoopbewijs bij de hand.
■ Het artikelnummer vindt u op het typeplaatje, in het product gegraveerd, op de
titelpagina van de gebruiksaanwijzing (linksonder) of als sticker op de achter- of
onderkant van het product.
■ Als er fouten in de werking of andere gebreken optreden, neemt u eerst contract
op met de hierna genoemde serviceafdeling, telefonisch of via e-mail.
■ Een als defect geregistreerd product kunt u dan zonder portokosten naar het aan
u doorgegeven serviceadres sturen. Voeg het aankoopbewijs (kassabon) bij en
vermeld waaruit het gebrek bestaat en wanneer het is opgetreden.
