1.3.21.Makesuretoinstallthegrinderonanevenandstablesurfacetopreventitfromfallingoff.
1.4.SafetyEquipmentontheCoffeeGrinder
1.4.1.MachineSafetyswitch
Thiscoffeegrinderhasonesafetyswitch.Intheeventthatpowerconsumptionistoohigh,thesafety
switchwilltriggerandinterruptthecircuit.Torectifythefault,thecauseoftheexcessivepower
consumptionmustbeidentified(see6.2.2.).Followingrectification:Depresstheswitch,whichislocatedon
thebaseofthegrinder(fromOFFtoON),toreestablishthecircuit(alsosee6.2.4.).
1.4.2.Heatdetector
Thedetectorattachedtothemotorwilltriggerassoonasthetemperatureofthemotorexceeds70
degreesCelsius.Inthatcase,thegrinderwillautomaticallyturnoffandcannolongerbeoperated.
Operationcanandwillcontinueoncethedevicehascooleddownto60degreesCelsius(alsosee6.2.3.).
1.4.3ExtendedRushHourFeature(CoolingSystem)–onlyetzMAX‐plus
AllPlus‐versionsareequippedwithacoolingsystem,turningthegrinderoffwhenreaching75°Candback
onat65°C(coolingcapacity:1.7‐2°C/minute).

2.INTENDEDUSE
TheetzMAXcoffeegrinderhasbeendesignedforcommercialusebyspecialistpersonnelandonlyforthe
grindingofroasted,ungroundcoffeebeans.Itmayonlybeusedforthispurpose.Donotusethegrinderto
grindotherfoods(thancoffeebeans)ormaterials.

4.1.BeforeOperation
Readtheoperatinginstructionsandgeneralinformationandsafetyinformationcarefully.Takecare
nottodamagethecoffeegrinderwhenopeningthepackaging.Proceedwithcautionandavoidtheuseof
sharpobjects.
Carefullyremovethecoffeegrinderfromthepackagingandcheckthatthedeliveryiscomplete(see3.2.).
Checkthecoffeegrinderand/orindividualpartsfordamage.Donotusethecoffeegrinderiftherearesigns
ofdamage.Inthatcase,contactthemanufactureroryourdealer.Keeppackagingmaterialoutofthereach
ofchildrenandensurethatitisproperlydisposedof.
Beforeinitialinstallation,cleanthehousingandportafilterholderwithasoft,slightlydampcloth.Cleanthe
beanhopperwithcleanwaterandallowallpartstodrythoroughly.
4.2.InitialInstallation

Positionthecoffeegrinderonalevel,stable,andvibration‐freesurfacethatisabletobeartheweightof
thegrinder.
Inserttheplugintoaproperlyfittedsocketofthecorrectvoltage.

SlidethelidofthebeanhopperfromthebackorfrontontothebeanhoppersothatOPENisatthe6o’
clockpositionandCLOSEatthe12o’clockposition.

Turnthetwolockinglevers(5,7)ontheleftandrightof
thehopperholder(6)rearwardsintheOPENarrow
directionasfarastheywillgo(Fig.1).
