The installation-related and troubleshooting
chapters marked with this certied electrici-
an symbol are intended for certied electrici-
ans, who can correctly and safely install the
wallbox and identify potential danger.
General
information
Scope of the document
Retain all documentation delivered with
the wallbox in a safe place for the entire life
cycle of the product. Forward all documen-
tation to any subsequent owners or users of
the product.
This manual is intended for users, as well
as certied electricians. It provides import-
ant information on installing and using the
wallbox. In this manual, the term „wallbox“
refers to the wallbox including the charging
cable. Please read and follow the procedu-
res and recommendations described in the
manual carefully.

Please note that the installation must only
be performed by certied electricians, who
can correctly and safely install the wallbox
and identify potential danger. The user must
read and obey the usage-related chapters
marked with this user symbol to correctly
and safely operate the wallbox.

Software updates
Make sure that the wallbox always has the
latest software. Please note that a software
update requires the approval via the myAudi
app. Information about the latest software
updates can be found at https://www.elli.
eco/de/changelog/wallbox. The user is free
to install or reject the update. However, this
may impair the security as well as functiona-
lity of the wallbox. It will then potentially no
longer be possible to use new functions or
functionalities may be restricted.

If an update is not agreed to, Elli and
Audi will not be liable for any product

Read and obey the following safety precautions before installing, servicing or using the wall-
box. A certied electrician must ensure that the wallbox is installed in accordance with the
relevant country-specic standards and local regulations.

The following sections contain general information that applies when using the wallbox.
Danger
Not following the instructions given in this
document will result in the risk of electric
shock to users, which will cause severe
injuries or death.
› The installation must only be performed
by certied electricians, who can cor-
rectly and safely install the wallbox and
identify potential danger.
› If unsure about how to use the wallbox
after reading this document, ask for help

for more information.
Operating the wallbox when it indicates
an error state, or when the wallbox or the
charging cable have cracks, show extensive
wear, or other physical damage (e.g. ex-
panded housing, etc.) will result in the risk
of electric shock, which will cause severe
injuries or death.

Extensive exposure of the wallbox to water

toward or onto the wallbox.
› Do not put the charging plug into any
liquid.
Installation, maintenance, repair and re-
location of this wallbox by a non-certied
electrician will result in the risk of electric
shock, which will cause severe injury or
death.
› Only a certied electrician is permitted
to install, maintain, repair, and relocate
the wallbox.
› The user must not attempt to maintain
or repair the wallbox as it does not con-
tain user serviceable parts.

Improper usage of the wallbox could re-
sult in damage to the wallbox, which could
cause injury or death.
› Read this manual before using the
wallbox.
› If unsure about how to use the wallbox
after reading this manual, ask for help
dealer for more information.
› The wallbox is an electrical device, do not
allow children to operate or play with the
wallbox.
Using adapters, conversion adapters or
cord extensions with the wallbox may
result in technical incompatibilities and
could result in damage to the wallbox, and
could cause injuries or death.
› Use this wallbox to charge Mode 3* com-
patible electric vehicles only.
› Refer to the vehicle user manual to check
if the vehicle is compatible.
*Mode 3 is the most common charging mode, which
includes all AC charging processes at public charging sta-
tions or wallboxes where the electric vehicle is connected
to the wallbox.
Using a damaged wallbox (e.g. expanded
housing, crack in the cable, etc.) may ex-
pose the user to electric components and
could result in the risk of electric shock,
which could cause injury or death.
› Always check that the wallbox is free
of damage before starting a charging
session.
› Make sure that the charging cable cannot
become damaged (kinked, jammed or
driven over).
› Take precautions so that the charge plug
does not come into contact with heat
sources, dirt or water.
› Always check that the contact area of
the charging plug is free from dirt and
moisture before starting a charging
session. Use the cable cap to protect the
plug from dirt.
A damaged charging cable could result
in the risk of electric shock, which could
cause danger to the user, severe injuries
or death.
› Make sure that the charging cable is
positioned so that it will not be stepped
on, tripped over, driven over or otherwise
subjected to excessive force or damage.
Wind the charging cable around the wall-
box, making sure that the charging plug
does not touch the ground.
› Only pull on the charging plug hand grip
and never on the charging cable itself.
Exposure of the wallbox to excessive heat
sources (for example electric heater, open
re) or ammable substances (for exam-
ple gas canisters), could result in damage
to the wallbox, and could cause injuries or
death.
› Make sure that the wallbox never comes
into direct contact with heat sources.
› Do not use explosive or readily amma-
ble substances near the wallbox.
Using the wallbox under conditions not
specied in this manual could result in
damage to the wallbox, which could cause
injury or death.
› Only use the wallbox under the speci-
ed operating conditions, see Technical
specications in the chapter Product
information.

Transport and storage
› Disconnect input power before removing
the wallbox for storage or relocation.
› Only transport and store the wallbox in its
original packaging.
› Store the wallbox in a dry environment in
the temperature range given in the techni-
cal specications (see page 11).
Caution
Putting ngers into or leaving other
objects inside the plug port could cause
injury or damage to the wallbox.
› Do not put your ngers or objects into
the plug port.
A front assembly with cracks in the glass
could cause the wallbox to become a
hazardous object, and could result in the
risk of injuries.
› If the glass of the front assembly breaks,
have the front assembly replaced imme-
diately by a certied electrician.
Charging the electric vehicle with the
charging cable not being completely
unwound may result in overheating of the
cable, which could damage the wallbox.
› Make sure to completely unwind the
charging cable and avoid overlapping
loops before charging the electric vehic-
le.
