Installation Instructions:
(Refer to Figure 1 for all item callouts and hardware)
This SAFETY ALERT SYMBOL is used
both in this manual and on the machine to
identify important safety messages which must
be followed to avoid accidents. This symbol
means:
ATTENTION! BECOME ALERT!
YOUR SAFETY IS INVOLVED!
WARNING
POTENTIAL HAZARD
♦While maintenance or adjustments are
being made, someone could start the
engine.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
♦Accidental starting of the engine could
seriously injure you or other bystanders.
HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
♦Remove the key from the ignition switch
and/or pull the wire(s) off the spark plug(s)
before you do any maintenance. Also push
the wire(s) aside so it does not accidentally
contact the spark plug(s).
Note: The left and right sides of the machine are
determined while sitting in the seat in the normal
operating position.
1. Tip seat forward.
2. Remove hydro fan cover and hydraulic reservoir
cap as shown in Figure 2.

3. Install right hand canopy mount (item 5) to the
corresponding holes in the seat frame using (2)
3/8-16 x .75 screws (item 16) and (2) 3/8 nyloc
nuts (item 17) as shown in Figure 3.

4. Replace hydraulic reservoir cap.
5. Repeat step 3 using left hand canopy mount
(item 6).
6. Assemble the two front bow parts (items 1
and 4) as shown in Figure 1.
7. Place the rear bow (item 2) on a flat surface and
position to the inside of the assembled front bow
as shown in Figure 4.

8. Place the left hand brace (item 10) on the
outside of the front bow assembly. Align the
hole in the brace to the back hole of the front
bow assembly and the second hole on the rear
bow (item 2) as shown in Figure 4. Loosely
fasten with 1/4-20 x .75 screw (item 13) and
nyloc nut (item 15).
9. Repeat step 8 to install right hand brace
(item 9).
10. Install the top bow (item 8) on the outside of the
front bow assembly as shown in Figure 4, and

loosely fasten with 1/4-20 x .75 screw (item 13)
and nyloc nut (item 15). Install hardware (items
13 and 15) to right hand side.
11. Install the left and right posts (item 3) on the
outside of the rear bow (item 2) and fasten
loosely with the hardware shown in Figure 4.
12. Fasten the left and right braces to the posts as
shown in Figure 5.

13. Insert the posts into the canopy mounts as
shown in Figure 5. If posts do not insert easily
into the mounts, file the inside of the mount
bracket and re-insert into the ends of the posts.
14. On right side, use a 9/32” drill bit to drill a hole
though the canopy mount and post as shown in
Figure 6.

15. Install the hitch pin (item 18) to secure the post
to the canopy mount.
16. Tighten all hardware.
17. Install the vinyl canopy cover (item 7) over the
front bow assembly. Pull the back of the canopy
over the rear bow.
18. Re-install the hydro fan cover, tip the seat back
and put the wires back on the spark plugs.
Important: Remove the entire sunshade kit
before transporting the unit in an open truck or
trailer or damage may occur.
WARNING
POTENTIAL HAZARD
♦The sunshade kit does not provide roll over
protection.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
♦A roll over of the unit could cause serious
injury or death.
HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
♦Drive slowly and carefully.
♦Read and follow slope operation instructions
and warnings in the mower Operator’s
manual.
