plug(s)beforeyoudoanymaintenance.Alsopush
thewire(s)asidesoitdoesnotaccidentallycontact
thesparkplug(s).
Note:Determinetheleftandrightsidesofthemachine
fromthenormaloperatingposition.
Note:Parktheunitonalevelsurface.Makesureallmoving
partshavestopped,parkingbrakeisengaged,thekeyhasbeen
removed,andthesparkplugwirehasbeendisconnected.

InstallationInstructions
Important:ForSerialNumbers313,000,000andHigher,
multipleaccessoriesaddedtoabaseunitcanchangethe
stabilityofthemachine.Readtheunitoperator’smanual
todetermineifcounterbalanceweightsarenecessaryfor
theaccessoriesinstalledontheunit.
1.Makesureallmovingpartshavestopped,parkingbrake
isengaged,andthekeyhasbeenremoved.
2.Raisethefrontofthemachineandsupportwithjack
stands.
CAUTION
Raisingthemowerdeckforserviceor
maintenancerelyingsolelyonmechanical
orhydraulicjackscouldbedangerous.The
mechanicalorhydraulicjacksmaynotbe
enoughsupportormaymalfunctionallowing
theunittofall,whichcouldcauseinjury.
DoNotrelysolelyonmechanicalorhydraulic
jacksforsupport.Useadequatejackstands
orequivalentsupport.
3.Removetheblades;retainforremovalofthenishcut
kit.
4.Ifthemowerhasbeenused,scrapeundersideof
mowerdeckclean.
5.Removethehardwarethatplugstheexposedmounting
holesinthedeck.
•On60inchdecks,removethesix5/16-18x3/4
inchhexsocketscrewsandangednylocnuts
pluggingtheexposedmountingholesinthedeck.
Retainforfutureuse(seeFigure3).

10.Looselyinstalltherearcenterbafe(item6)usingtwo
3/8-16x7/8inchcarriageboltsandangednylocnuts.

Note:Whentighteningthesidebumperhardware,
DoNotexceed20ft-lb(27N-m).

14.Installtheblackreverserotationblade,suppliedinthe
kit,ontotherighthandspindle.
15.Thetworedblades,suppliedinthekit,canbeinstalled
oneitherthecenterorlefthandspindle.
16.Torquethebladeboltsto55-60ftlb(75-81N-m).
Note:Carefullyandslowlyrotateeachblade360
degreesbyhandtomakesurethereisclearance
betweenthebladesandbafes.Adjustbafesslightly
ifinterferenceisfound.
WARNING
Incorrectinstallationofthebladeor
componentsusedtoretainthebladecan
bedangerous.Failuretousealloriginal
componentsandassembledasshowncould
allowabladeorbladecomponenttobethrown
outfromunderthedeckresultinginserious
personalinjuryordeath.
AlwaysinstalltheoriginalExmarkblades
andbladeretaininghardwareasshowninthe
Operator’smanual.
Note:Refertothemoweroperator’smanualforblade
maintenance.
17.Carefullyremovethejackstandsandlowerthemachine
totheground.
ConvertingBacktoRear
Discharge
1.Stopengineandwaitforallmovingpartstostop,
engageparkingbrake,removekey,anddisconnectthe
negativebatterycable.
2.Removenishcutbafesandkickerbafesandretain
allhardware.
3.Replacethenishcutbladeswithstandardblades.
4.Install5/16-18x3/4inchhexsocketscrewsand
angednylocnutsintheholesontopofthedeckwith
theboltheadunderneath.Allopenholesnotcovered
bybeltshieldsortheframemustbepluggedtoprevent
sandorothersmallobjectsfrombeingthrownup
throughthedeck.
