2. Locate a 5V USB port near the centre of the vessel.
Note: Power banks will not power the Core.
3. Switch on 1 x OLAS Tag (or switch on OLAS within the
OLAS Float-On).
4. Plug in the power to the Core.

5. You should always try to install your Core at least 0.5
meters from any equipment transmitting radio signals
including VHF Radios, antennas and cables.
6. If located within 0.5 meters it is possible false alarms
may occur. If you are experiencing false alarms try
moving the Core hub away from other electrical devices
and then carry out the Guardian setup and range test to
see if the false alarms still occur.

7. Hold the OLAS tag next to the Core. 8. The Core will double beep to acknowledge the tag is now being
tracked.
9. Open the OLAS App 10. Connect to the Core
11. Select the ID number which relates to your Core, this is located on
the side of the Core box
12. Follow the setup instructions to the OLAS app home page. If you
are advised to carry out a rmware update please do so
immediately and ensure you download and read any new
operation instructions.

13. Check that the tag displayed on the app screen has the same ID
number as the tag you are testing with. The tags ID number can be
found on the underside of the tag.
14. Leave the Core in its location and either walk with your mobile
device or place it in a location that you will be able to hear the
alert. A suggested location is the helm.

15. Walk around your vessel with the tag, listening out for the alarm
to sound from the Core or the mobile device.
16. If no alarm sounds return to the Core and check that the control
switch is illuminated red. Solid red indicates that the Core is
tracking correctly.
17. If you have other OLAS transmitters to track these can now be
added to the system. Ensure all OLAS transmitters are switched on
and transmitting and place them next to the Core.
18. The Core will indicate with a double beep each time a new tag is
tracked.

19. You do not need to bring a tag next to the Core to start tracking it.
If the tag is already showing on the screen it can be tracked by
clicking on the right hand side of the tag changing it from grey to
full colour.
Your Core system is now setup.
It is advised to test the alarm regularly. Instruction on
how to do this can be found in the 'Alarm Testing' guide.
