Theseatcushioncouldalsoberemovedtobewashed

Usage in the Rain or Snow

Baery Handling and Care
DONOTleavethebaeryindirectsunlight.Itwillcause
permanentdamage,oravolalereacon.Storethe
baeryinacool,dryarea.
DONOTremoveANYwrapping,whetheritisblue,clear,
plascorotherwise,fromthebaerypack.
DONOTallowchildrenaccesstothebaeryorelectrical
componentsofthechair.
DONOTplaceanyitemsonthechargerwhilecharging.
DONOTstoreinaseverecoldenvironment.Itwilldam‐
ageanddecreasethelifeofthebaery.
Keepthebaeryawayfromfireandheatsources.
Ifthebaerybecomeshot,deformed,oremitsanodor
whilecharging,stopthechargingimmediately.
Thechargermaygetslightlywarmwhencharging,thisis
acceptable.Thechargershouldnotgetoverlyhotwhere
itisuncomfortabletothetouch,anditshouldneveremit
smokeorfire.
Thebaerycanbesafelychargedovernight.Itisequipped
withoverchargeproteconbywayofaBaeryManage‐
mentSystem(BMS).
Fullychargethebaeryincaseofstorage.Thebaeryhas
dischargecharacteriscsandmustbechargedonceevery
monthoritcouldleadtooverdischargedamage,and
ceasefunconing.Failure to do this will void warranty.
OurLithiumBaeriesarerecyclable.Pleasediscardthem
responsiblythroughalocalrecyclingfacility.

General Informaon on Charging the Baery
PleaseusetheLithiumbaerychargersuppliedbyEZLite
Cruiserandnever use a charger from another power chair!
Unless instructed by an EZ Lite Cruiser Technical Support
technician, DO NOT turn on the controller power or use
the chair during charging.
Ensurethatthebaeryiscoolwhilecharging.Thecharger
maygetalilewarmwhilecharging,duetocurrentrun‐
ningthroughit.ThechargershouldnevergetHOTtothe
touch.Pleasecheckitperiodically.Failuretocheckcan
causedamagetothechairandevenstartafire.
Chargingmecanvaryfrom2to8hours,dependingon
thelevelofthebaerywhencharginghasstarted,andthe
capacityofthebaeryyouarecharging.
Thechargercanbeusedovernightsafely.
Thechargermustbedisconnectedfromthejoysckinor‐
dertooperatetheEZLiteCruiser.
Keepchargerawayfrommoistureandimpact.
The charger for the EZ Lite Cruiser operates at voltages
between 100 ‐240 Volts AC input, meaning it will work
overseas in any country where the wall outlets provide
between 100 to 240 Volts. Youwillsimplyneedto
changetheshapeofthewalloutletplugusingacommon
adaptertochangetheplugtomatchshapeoftheoutlets
forthecountryyouareusingtheEZLiteCruiserin.

Charging the Baery “On Board”
“OnBoard”chargingmeansthebaeryisconnectedto
theEZLiteCruiser’sPowerInputconnecon,tosupplythe
chairwithpower.First,ensurethebaeryispluggedinto
thechair,attheInput/Powerplug(seepage23forphoto.)
Next,Insertthechargerintoanelectricaloutlet,whichwill
causethechargerlighttoturnon.ThelightwillbeGreen.
Lastly,InsertthechargerroundmetalpintotheJoysck
(seepage23forphoto.)
GREEN Indicator light means either that the baery
charging has finished, or is taking a break** (see below).
It can also mean that there is no baƩery connected!
RED Indicator light means that the baery is charging.
**Ifyouarepaentandwatchthebaerycharging,you
maynocethatthechargerlightwillchangefromRed
(charging)toGreen (notcharging)andshortlythereaer
backtoRed (charging)…..Green (notcharging),Red
(charging),etc.ThishappensbecausetheBMS(Baery
ManagementSystemisgoingthroughandchargingallthe
cellsinthebaerypack.Pleasebepaentandwaitfor
thechargingtobecompletedfully.Beforedisconnecng
thecharger.DisconnecngittooquicklyatthefirstGreen
lightonthechargermaybeafalse‐posiveindicaonthat
charginghascompleted,wheninactualityithasnot!
When you see that the light on your charger has re‐
mained Green for at least 30 minutes, that is when you
know the baery charging has completed.

Charging the Baery “OffBoard”
“OffBoard”chargingmeansthebaeryisNOTconnected
totheEZLiteCruiser’sPowerInputconnecon,anditis
notsupplyingthechairwithpower.
Inthisscenario,youwillfirstconnectthechargerintoan
electricaloutlet,whichwillcausethechargerlighttoturn
on.ThelightwillbeGreen.
Lastly,Insertthechargerroundmetalpintothematching
roundmetalpconnectoronyourbaery.
Thesameprinciplesforthelightsonthechargerchanging
numerousmes,asdescribedonthepreviouspagefor
“OnBoard”charging,willapplyinthisscenario.

Charging Two Baeries At the Same Time
ItisNOTpossibletochargeTwoBaerieswithOne
chargeratthesameme.IfyouhaveTWObaeriesthat
you’reusingtogether,withtheDualBaeryConnector,
youmustDISCONNECTthebaeriesfromtheDualBaery
Connector,&chargeeachoneSEPARATELY.ThisisVERY
IMPORTANT.IfyouchargebothbaerieswiththeDual
BaeryConnector,youareONLYCHARGINGONEBATTERY
ANDMAYCAUSEAFAILUREOFYOURSECONDBATTERY,
whichwillvoid the baery warranty.
YoucanchargeTwoBaeriesatthesamemeifyouhave
asecondcharger,tochargeeachoneindividually,both
donebyusingtheoff‐boardmethodforcharging.

Discharging 2 Baeries with the Dual Baery Connector
YoucanconnectanduseTwobaeriesatthesameme.
Thepowerwillbedrawnfrombothbaeries.Inorderto
dothis,youmusthavepurchasedasecondbaery(your
chaironlycomeswithone)andaDualBaeryConnector.
Asdescribedonthepreviouspage,chargingtwobaeries
togetherwiththeDualBaeryConnectorcableisnotpos‐
sible.Each baery must be charged individually.

Using in the Powered (Electric) Mode
Fliptheredlevers(theelectromagneclocks,idenfiedinthecompo‐
nentsoftheEZLiteCruiseronpage5)onbothoftherearwheelsand
ensurethatthewheelsarelockedinplace,andarenotmovingatall.
Whenthechairispoweredelectrically,thechaircannotbepushed
manually.
Aertheuserisseatedinthechair,turnonthepower.
Pushingthejoysckforwardtogoforward.
Pullingjoysckbacktogoback.
Pushingjoysckletoturnle.
Pushingjoysckrighttoturnright.
Thechairwillgofasterwhenthemagnitudeisgreater.
Releasethejoyscktostopthechair.
Pressthepoweroffbuontoshutdownthepower.
Using in the Manual Mode
EnsurethatthepowerisOFF.
Fliptheredlevers(theelectromagneclocks,idenfied
inthecomponentsoftheEZLiteCruiseronpage5)on
bothoftherearwheels.Thiswillallowyoutorollthe
wheelsmanually.
Ifoneofthewheelsrollsandtheotherdoesnot,flipthe
redlevertothesameposionasthewheelthatdoesroll.
Ifneitherwheelsroll,fliptheredleverstotheopposing
posionforbothwheels.Youwillheara‘clunk’noise
whentheleverisflipped.
Iftheuseroperatesthechairwithoutassistance,the
electromagnecbrakemustbeattheengagedposion.
Otherwise,theuserwillnothavecontroloverthechair.

IftheEZLiteCruiserisnotlockedintheopenposion,it
cancollapsewhenaempngtositonthechair.Thiscan
causedamagetothechairandalsohurttheuser.Please
ensurethatthechairisfullyunfoldedbeforesinginit.
Check,double‐checkandtriple‐checktomakesurethe
chairisopenedallthewayandlockedintoposion.
Ifthefrontwheelisnotintheproperposionthechair
willnotfoldghtlyandcouldcausedamage.Makesure
thefrontwheelsareinthecorrectposionbeforeclosing.
Thecableshouldbearoundarmrestinordertoavoidpull‐
ingonthejoysck.
Watchtoensurethejoysckcableisnotcaughtbetween
anymetalframepartsofthechairastheycometogether.
DONOTusethejoysckunlessyouaresinginthechair.
DONOTdisconnectanyplugsbypullingonthewire.Only
disconnectbypullingontheplugsnearthesocketstopre‐
ventdamagetothewiring.Anyplugsshouldbeun‐

Thebaeryshouldbefullycharged&chairshouldbeplacedincool,

Thebaeryneedstobefullrecharged(upto8hours)onceeverytwo
months,otherwiseitcouldleadtoover‐dischargedamage,which will
void the baery warranty.
Avoidingstoringthechairaroundheat,coldordirectsunlight.Therub‐
berpartswillagequickerandshortentheservicelife.
Thebaeryisverysensivetohightemperatureenvironmentsandto
pressure.Avoidhightemperatureandpressure,asitmaycauseafire.
Thereareelectroniccomponentsinthejoysck.Avoidpressingand
pungtoomuchpressureonit.

cantresistance,pleasechangethebearing.

ing.Replacethemaccordingly.
Checkifthefoldinglockswork.Ifitislooseorjamming,pleasereplace
itpromptly.
Checkthean‐pwheels/device.Ifitislooseorjamming,pleasere‐

Please DO NOT remove the Blue Plasc Wrap OR the Clear Plasc Wrap
(appliestothe10AhBaeries)thatmakesuptheouterpackagingof
yourbaery!Thiswillexposetheinnerworkingsofthebaeryandcan
bedangerous,soneverunderanycircumstancesshouldyouopenupthe
baery.Doingsowillvoid the baery warranty.
Baery Storage
Thebaerycanbekeptinthefiedblackpouchthatcamewithit,atall
mes.Thisfiedpouchisconvenientforcarryingthebaerywhendis‐
connected.
Baery Charge Level Upon Arrival
Whenyoureceiveyourbaery,itisalmostfullycharged!Youcanbegin
usingyourchairrightawaytotestitout.Beforedrivingitintensively,we
recommendchargingthebaerybackuptofull.
Charging the Baery
Thechargers(anytype)fortheEZLiteCruiserhavearoundmetallicp
thatwillplugintothefrontofthejoysck.Withthisarrangement,the
chargingwilloccurthroughthejoysck,downtothebaery.Your
baerywillalsohaveasecondcircularroundmetallicpconnector,
whichwillallowthechargertoplugintothemdirectly,allowingyouto
chargethebaeryoff‐board.See page 13 for details for On Board charg‐
ing, and page 14 for details for OffBoard charging.

Charging Two Baeries
You can not charge two baeries at the same me using the dual baery
connector. Formoreinformaononchargingtwobaeries,seepage
14.Tochargetwobaeries,theeasiestwayistohavetwochargersand
chargeeachbaeryOffBoard.OrChargeonebaeryOnBoardandone
baeryOff Board,butyouwillsllneedasecondchargertodothis.If
youhaveonecharger,youcanchargeonebaeryfirst,andchargerthe
secondbaerywhenthefirstoneisdone.
Red Levers on the Rear Wheels
Theredleversontherearwheelscontroltheelectromagneclockand
ulmatelythebrakingsystem.The levers must be ENGAGED inorderfor
youtousethechairinthepoweredmode.
Howdoyouknowiftheyareengaged?This is a “Sanity Check” :
WhenthedeviceispoweredOFF,andtheyareDISENGAGED,thenyou
willbeabletorolltherearwheelsmanuallybypushingthechair.
WhenthedeviceispoweredOFFandtheyareENGAGED,youwillnot
beabletorolltherearwheelsmanually.
WhenthedeviceispoweredON,thelocksmustbeENGAGEDinorder
todriveit.Iftheyarenotengaged,thejoysckwillflashthetoplight
onthespeedseng,indicangthisfault.
Seat Belt
Theseatbeltislocatedinthezipperedcompartmentunderneaththe
seat.Forhelpwithmounngtheseatbelt,wehaveavideoshowingthe

Toolkit
Thetoolkitislocatedinthezipperedcompartmentundertheseat.Every
fewmonths,youshouldcheckthejointsofthechairandghtenany
hingejointsonwhichthechairfolds.Failuretodothiscancauseloose
bolts,breakageandvoidtheframewarranty.Upkeep is essenal.
