This model has been designed with your practical needs in mind. lt is
equipped with modern high-tech electronics and special features for a
more comfortable ride.
This manual contains important information regarding the safe use of the
power wheelchair. Please read it carefully before using the power chair and
make sure you understand all the instructions.

Quick Reference Guide
1. Slide controller mount bar into the left or right arm receiver.
2. Unfold chair by by grasping the push handle and front seat frame
and pull apart.
3. Lock Frame open with fold latch by flipping the wire loop up and
securing.

Failure to follow the instructions below may result
in damage to the electric wheelchair or serious
injury.
Practice Operation
The operation of a power wheelchair can cause damage or injury if
not done safely. Please accustom yourself to driving your new
wheelchair in open uncrowded places. As your ability improves you’ll
be able to drive in smaller, busier locations.
Driving
1. Ensure the power is off when sitting or leaving the wheelchair seat.
2. Use slower speeds while learning to drive.
3. Push power button on the joystick to turn on power.
4. Move Joystick gimbal in the direction you want to move.
5. Move Gimbal back to the center position or simply release to stop
the wheelchair movement.
6. Practice maneuvers such as turning, backing up, stopping, ramps,
doorways, etc.
EMI Warning
The power wheelchair may be affected by electromagnetic
interference (EMI), which may cause damage or interruption to the
operation of the chair. It is important for you to understand the instructions
which can help you take protective measures against the risk of interference.
The sources of electromagnetic waves come from broadcasting stations, TV
stations, radio transmitters, two-way radios (such as walkie-talkies), cellular
phones and computers. Interference from these electromagnetic waves
may cause malfunction or permanent damage to the chair’s braking and
control system.
By adhearing to the following instructions you should be able to reduce the
chance of brakes going out of control or the serious damage caused to the
electric wheelchair itself.
1) Do not turn on hand-held personal communication devices such as
citizens band (CB) radios and cellular phones while the powered
wheelchair is turned on.

(2) Be aware of nearby transmitters such as radio or TV stations and try
to avoid coming close to them.
(3) If unintended movement or brake release occurs, turn the powered
wheelchair off immediately to make sure of safety.
(4) Be aware that adding accessories or components, or modifying the
powered wheelchair, may make it more susceptible to interference from
radio wave sources. (Note: there is no easy way to evaluate the effect on
the overall immunity of the powered wheelchair).
(5) Report all incidents of unintended movement or brake release to the
powered wheelchair seller, and try to find out that whether there is radio
wave source nearby.
If the following occurs, you should immediately turn off the
electric wheelchair power supply:
1. Sudden Movement
2. Uncontrolled directional movement
3. Brake Failure
Safey Information
Do not carry passengers.
Do not drive across a slope.
Do not drive inebriated.
Do not tow trailers or be towed.
Do not turn on or use hand-held personal communication devices such
as radios or cellular phones.
Do not drive the power wheelchair without reading this instruction
manual.
Do not exceed the safe climbing maximum angle.
Do not use the joystick in an erratic manner when on inclines.
Do not exceed the maximum user weight of the power wheelchair.

Do not press the On / Off Button of the controller when the power
wheelchair is moving. This will cause damage to the electromagnetic
brakes or cause damage to the joystick controller.
Do not drive over deep, soft terrain (soft dirt, loose gravel, or deep
snow or long grass).
Do not attempt to climb obstacles above 50mm (2") in height.
Do not disassemble or fold the power wheelchair unless the
electromagnetic brakes are engaged and the joystick controller is
turned off.
Do not operate the power wheelchair without soemone in the seat.
Do not drive the power wheelchair in street traffic except on a
sidewalk.
Do not change the driving direction or reverse the chair before the
chair fully stops.
Always drive at a slow speed when going down gradients (move the
joystick towards the central position)
Always use the seat belt.
Always keep the feet on the footrest while driving.
Always ensure the batteries are fully charged before setting out on a
long journey.
Always charge the power wheelchair in a well ventilated area to prevent any
possible risk.
If the axle of the wheel becomes loose, replace with the same size and type.
The driver of a power wheelchair must follow all the rules and regulations
common to other pedestrians.

Important!
Ensure there are no obstacles and it is safe before driving backwards.
Drive at low speeds in reverse.
Avoid eratic driving in any direction.
Keep arms on armrests while driving.
Do no try to climb curbs more then 5 cm (2”) high.
Do Not Attempt to cross a gap in the driving surface more then 10 cm (4”)
wide.
Driving on Slopes
Driving on a slope is much more dangerous than driving on a level surface.
Please note that falling or losing control may happen and cause serious
harm to users and others.
Do Not climb slopes that exceed 12°.
Do Not back down a ramp or slope.
Do Not drive across surfaces with a sideways slope of 3° or more.
Do Not drive on slopes with soft surfaces such as sand, loose gravel,
snow, etc.
Slow down when driving down hill to better control stopping.

Terminology
Joystick: The component housing the speed control, battery gauge,
driving gimbal, charger port, horn, on/off button, acceleration and
deceleration button.
Gimbal: The small knob on the joystick to allow the user to control
speed and direction of the wheelchair.
Controller: The electronic device that responds to commands from
the joystick.
Armrests: Supports for arms during time spent sitting in the power
chair.
Footrest: Support for feet during time spent sitting in the power
chair
Anti-tip Wheels: Wheels that prevent excessive rearward tipping
while driving.
Drive Wheel: Rear wheels that move the power chair.
Caster Wheel: The front wheels.
Electrical Set Up
1. Slide joystick mount tube into the receiver on the arm of
choice of the wheelchair and set to desired length. The
joystick gimbal shoud be at a comfortable distance from the
backpost of the wheelchair so the user does not have to
stretch, push their arm out or back to reach it.
2. Tighten the locking nut.
3. Connnect electrical cord from the joystick to the cord going
beneath the rear of the wheelchair.
4. Plug in the left and right motors and the batteries to the
appropriate connectors.

Joystick Information
The joystick is the main component for operating your wheelchair. It is
important that it is not bumped or banged for continued safe operation.
Damage to the joystick will make your chair difficult to operate or
prevent its operation at all.
Avoid storing the joystick in damp or humid areas for long periods of
time. If the joystick becomes wet due to rain or drink spillage, dry it as
soon as possible.
The joystick can be cleaned by wiping with a damp cloth containing a
mild detergent. DO not use abrasives or similar cleansers.

On / Off Button & Power Display
The on / off button provides power to the electronic systems of
the wheelchair. In an emergency situation, you can use the on /
off button to stop the wheelchair.
The battery gauge lights up to show the current battery power
of the wheelchair.
The indicator light also indicates that the wheelchair is powered
on. When the light is off the wheelchair is turned off.
Joystick Gimbal
The main function of the Joystick Gimbal is to control the speed
and direction of the wheelchair.
Moving the gimbal forward will move the wheelchair forward;
moving it backward will move the wheelchair backward; moving
it sideways will cause the wheelchair to turn.
The further the gimbal is moved, the faster the wheelchair will
move. If a very light pressure is out on the gimbal and it moves
only fraction of it’s range the wheelchair will move slowly; if the
gimbal is pushed all the way in any direction the wheelchair will
move full speed on that direction.
When the Gimbal is released it will go back to center, the wheelchair will
stop, and the brakes will engage. Any time the gimbal is off center, the
brakes will release automatically.
Speed Display (S1-S5)
This is a speed indicator to show the maximum speed level the
wheelchair is set at. S1 means the maximum speed is at its lowest, S5
indicates the maximum speed is at its highest.
Horn
Pressing the horn button will sound the horn.

Acceleration Button
Pressing this button will increase the maximum speed level of the
wheelchair which is indicated on the speed display. Each time the
button is pressed the speed will increase one level. The chair speed
cannot be changed when the wheelchair is moving.
Deceleration Button
Pressing this button will decrease the maximum speed level of the
wheelchair which is indicated on the speed display. Each time the
button is pressed the speed will decrease one level. The chair speed
cannot be changed when the wheelchair is moving.
Note: Setting the speed of the wheelchair low in small, tight or busy
areas will ensure the wheelchair does not move too fast and cause an
accident. When outdoors in wide open areas the chair speed can be
set at the maximum speed as long as the user is capable of
controlling it at higher speeds.
Troubleshooting Guide
The Indicator lights and horn will provide clues to the nature of the
problem in the event of a malfunction of the wheelchair.

Horn
Free Wheeling / Motor Release
The wheelchair has a red lever on
each motor that will manually
release the automatic brakes so the
wheelchair can be pushed when the user
is not able to drive it or there is a
malfunction. When released the
wheelchair cannot be driven with the
joystick.
To drive the wheelchair the lever must be
returned to the engaged position.

Folding the Wheelchair
1) Release the arm locks
and lower the arms.
2) Loosen the rear frame
lock in front of and
above the batteries
3) Hold the push bar with one hand and the front seat cushion
frame with the other hand. Pull both towards each other until
your wheelchair is completely folded.
Adjusting Joystick Length
The joystick can be
adjusted by loosening
the locking nut under
the armrest and
moving the joystick to
the desired position.
The joystick can be
mounted on either armrest as needed.

Flipping Back the Armrest
Turn the armrest locking knobs downwards to release the arms
and then lift the arms up and back. It is recommended that
users who aren’t physically able to flip the arms back and forth
have the help of a caregiver who is familiar with this action.
Removing the Batteries
1) Unplug the power cord
2) Hold down the locking catch to release the battery from
the frame and pull out the battery compartment.
Battery Information
The batteries supplied with your power wheelchair are 24 volt
sealed maintenance free lithium batteries. These are designed for deep
discharge and recharge.
Although they may look similar to automotive batteries, then are very
different in function and must be replaced with batteries of the same
type and specifications as the original.
Battery Care
To maximize the efficiency and life of you batteries it is important that
they are taken care of properly.
1) Charge the battery fully before its first use. Batteries will only
work at about a 90% level until conditioned properly.

2) The battery needs to be fully discharged 4 or 5 times and fully
recharged before the battery will begin working at its full
potential.
Recharge for 8 to 14 hours each discharge and reuse the
wheelchair again until discharged.
Note: Be careful not to travel too far from a recharging place
when battery charge levels are low to prevent getting stranded
without power.
Frequently charged batteries provide reliable performance and long
battery life. As much as possible keep your battery fully charged when
used regularly. Not keeping the battery fully charged may cause damage
to the battery permanently causing unreliable operation and reduced
battery life.
If your electric wheelchair is used infrequently, you must charge once
every week to ensure battery activity.
If you want to ship your wheelchair, you must contact the shipping
company in advance to ensure that the wheelchair meets the special
requirements of their transportation.
Maintenance-free Fully enclosed lead-acid batteries are designed for
wheelchairs and other mobile vehicles. Overall, maintenance-free,
fully
enclosed lead-acid batteries are safe, green and environmentally
friendly.
We recommend that you contact the public transport department
such as aircraft, buses and trains for packaging and shipping
requirements.
Dispose of old batteries according to the relevant rules of your
locality.

Charger Information
The charger is a very important part of your wheelchair and
provides energy to your wheelchair through a safe, fast and
easy charger. Do not use charger not designed for your
wheelchair. If needed, your wheelchair dealer can supply an
appropriate replacement.
Wheelchair Maintenance and Care
Your electric wheelchair is maintenance-free design, however,
we recommend you to do the following checks on a regular
basis:
1) Have your dealer or another qualified dealer inspect and
adjust your wheelchair as needed.
2) Do not store the wheelchair in damp areas. Damp can
damage the electrical components.
3) Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasives to clean your
wheelchair.
Warranty:
EZee Life™ products carry a one-year warranty against manufacturing
defects, faulty materials and workmanship.
In the event of a defect covered by this warranty, we will, at our
option, repair or replace the item. Please contact your supplier/dealer
for assistance should a defect become apparent.
The warranty does not extend to consequential costs resulting from
the fault or defect in the product, in particular freight and travel costs,
loss of earnings, expenses or other expenses which may occur.
The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear resulting from
normal use or damage caused by accident, misuse, negligence or
improper installation or assembly.
The vendor/manufacturer will not accept responsibility for any
damages or injury caused by misuse, negligence or non-observance of
the instructions supplied.
