1. Brief
The FX5409 is a compact size embedded system with Intel Apollo Lake low power processor board
inside. This user’s quick reference provides the I/O outlets description and their pin assignment.

A. Standard Items
1 FX5409 embedded system.
2 SATA cables (signal & power) and 4 screws for fixing and connecting a 2.5" hard disk drive.
One 2-pin, pitch 5.08mm terminal block for power input, and one 10-pin, pitch 3.81mm for digital I/O.
4 screws for minicard installation.
1 compact disc includes software utilities and manuals.

* I/O Outlets
Two 10/100/1000 base-TX Ethernet ports.
6 USB ports, 2 RS-232, 2 RS-232/RS422/RS485 serial ports.
1 HD and 1 VGA display port, 1 Earphone, and 1 Microphone connectors.
One 10-pin terminal block for 4 isolated digital inputs and 4 isolated digital outputs.
One 2-pin terminal block for power input, 1 power push button, and 1 reset button.
* Storage Bay
1 m-SATA socket, 1 full size mini card socket, and 1 SIM socket.
One 2.5" SATA hard disk space.
* Power requirement
J3455: +12V DC, 3.7A maximum (1.85A typical) .or. +36V DC, 1.5A maximum (0.9Atypical).
* Dimensions
130mm(D) x 200mm(W) x 52mm(H) without rubber stands and wall mounting kit.
5. I/O outlets and LED Indicators

B. LAN LED Indicators (RJ45)
The LAN port is a RJ45 connector with 2 LEDs. The orange LED indicates data is accessing and the
green LED indicates on-line status.

6. Software Configuration and Driver Installation
Please refer to the driver installing documentaion in the included Compact Disc for installing what device
driver you need. If you need to change the system settings or configurations of I/O ports, Please refer to
User's Manual (also in the included Compact Disc) for details.
