ASSEMBLY NOTE
There are different ways to complete the assembly of the
expanded metal deck kit. Read through the information that
follows and determine which method works best for your
application. Regardless of the method used, read through
these instructions before you begin to get an overview of
the expanded metal deck assembly procedure.
It is the customer's responsibility to determine the best and
easiest way to attach the expanded metal deck to the trailer
frame based on experience and available assistants.
Method 1 (requires one person for assembly):
The instructions on the following pages describe first
attaching the deck supports to the trailer frame and then
attaching each expanded metal deck to the deck supports.
This method works best when one person is assembling
the deck and attaching it to the trailer frame.
NOTE: If this method is used, it will be necessary to work
from the underside of the frame to install and tighten most
mounting bolts. Method 1 is illustrated on the following
pages.
Method 2 (requires assistance to set deck on trailer frame):
This method works best when additional assistants are
available to set the assembly onto the frame. Access to
mounting bolts is easier using Method 2. Method 2 is not
illustrated in the following pages.
Follow these quick steps to first assemble the decks, and
then to attach them to the trailer frame:
Verify that the 103446 trailer frame is assembled to its
shortest length (shown in Step 1 on page 4).
Properly positioned the three (3) decks on a clean
surface with their topside down (see parts page).
Using the mounting bolts, connect the separate decks
and tighten the bolts (see parts page).
Attach the deck supports to the expanded metal deck
assembly (see parts page for part identification).
With assistance, carefully flip the assembly over and lift
it onto the trailer frame.
Secure the assembly to the deck support mounting
brackets on the trailer frame (see Step 2 on page 4).
Verify that all bolts are tight, including the deck support
mounting bracket bolts of the trailer frame.
