1. MEMORY: The rubber cover, located on top of the
camera, is where the COMPACT FLASH card is
installed for data storage (required for saving).
2. POWER: Insert the BATTERY into the slot on the
bottom of the camera.
3. START: To turn the camera on, press the ON/OFF
switch, located on the left side of the camera,
adjacent to the LCD display.
The button should light up (green) and the start-up
screen for the Flexcam will appear.
4. AUTO ADJUST: Once the camera has completed
start-up, press the Auto-Adjust button.
This will automatically set the camera’s LEVEL and
SPAN.
5. FOCUS: Once adjusted, use the MANUAL FOCUS
(rotate lens) to bring the target into view.
Press the Auto-Adjust button once more to further
clarify the image.
6. PAUSE IMAGE: To capture an image, press the trigger button on the front of
the camera once. This will pause the image.
Hold the button down and it will capture the paused picture, saving it to disk.

7. MANUAL ADJUST (Span and Level): To manually adjust the image’s SPAN, use the
joystick to move the cursor over either the high or low number on the temperature scale.
For Flexcam S-Series cameras, these are arrows that appear as pairs at either end of the
scale).
Press enter.
A box should appear around the number
Use the joystick control to raise or lower the temperature until a desired SPAN is reached.
To manually adjust the image’s LEVEL, select the number in the center of the
temperature scale and repeat as indicated above.
This procedure can be done live or when an image is paused, on either the Flexcam or
Flexcam T-Series units.
It is only available in live mode on the S-Series.
8. PALETTE: To change the color palette for any camera, simply mouse-over the color bar
and, using the enter button, click through a series of pre-set palettes.
