Stability and Reliability
F8X14 IP MODEM i a kind of data terminal device that provide data tran fer function by
public cellular network and ZigBee network.
It adopt high-powered indu trial 32 bit CPU and embedded real time operating y tem. It
upport RS232, RS485 (or RS422) and ZigBee port that can conveniently and tran parently
connect one device to a cellular network, allowing you to connect to your exi ting erial and
ZigBee device with only ba ic configuration. It ha low power con umption tate in which the
power con umption could be 1ower than 1mA@12VDC. It ha compatible digital I/O channel,
ADC, input pul e counter and pul e wave output function.
It ha been widely u ed on M2M field , uch a intelligent tran portation, mart grid,
indu trial automation, telemetry, finance, POS, water upply, environment protection, po t,
weather, and o on.

Installation of SIM/UIM card:
Fir tly power off the IP MODEM, and pre the out button of the SIM/UIM card outlet with a
needle object. Then the SIM/UIM card heath will flick out at once. Put SIM/UIM card into the
card heath (Pay attention to put the ide which ha metal point out ide), and in ert card heath
back to the SIM/UIM card outlet.
Warning: Forbid to in tall SIM/UIM card when powered!
Installation of antenna:
Screw the SMA male pin of the antenna to the female SMA outlet of the IP MODEM tightly.
Warning: The antenna mu t be crewed tightly, or the ignal quality of antenna will be influenced!

Chapter 3 Configuration
3.1 Configuration Connection
Before configuration, It’ nece ary to connect the IP MODEM with the configure PC by the
hipped RS232 or RS232-485 conver ion cable a following.
3.2 Configuration Introduction
There are two way to configure the IP MODEM:
Configuration oftware tool: All the etting are configured through the hipped oftware tool.
It’ nece ary to have one PC to run thi tool.
Extended AT command: All the etting are configured through AT command, o any device
with erial port can configure it. Before configuration with extended AT command, you hould
make IP MODEM enter configure tate. The tep how to make IP MODEM enter configure
tate, plea e refer to appendix.
The following de cribe how to configure IP MODEM with the configure oftware tool. At the
ame time, it give out the corre ponding AT command of each configuration item.

3.3 Run the configure Tool: IP Modem Configure.exe
The “Serial Parameter ” column how the current erial port etting . To configure IP
MODEM, plea e choo e the correct erial port which connect to IP MODEM, and the baud-rate
i 115200 with no parity, then open the erial port. If the button text i “Clo e”, it how the erial
port now ha been opened. If the text i “Open”, you hould open the port fir t. When the port
opened, the “Output Info” column will di play

Waiting IP MODEM Enter Configure State...”

3.4 Re-power IP MO EM
After Re-power IP MODEM, The configure tool will make it enter configure tate. At the
ame time, the oftware will load current etting from IP MODEM and di play on the right
configure column . It’ now ready to configure.
3.5 Configuration(F8114 for example)
3.5.1 ata Service Center Settings
Setting on thi page are the parameter related to Data Service Center (DSC).
◆ Data Center Number
IP MODEM upport two Data Service Center method to tran mit data.
Main and Backup: IP MODEM alway trie to connect with the Main DSC. If fail to connect
with Main DSC, it will connect with Backup DSC at once
Note ： If no Backup DSC exi t , plea e configure the Backup DSC ame a Main DSC.

Multi ata Service Center: IP MODEM can connect with at mo t five DSC at the ame time.
All the multi DSC can receive the ame application data .
If the Data Center Number i 0,there i no DSC working.
If the Data Center Number i 1, IP MODEM work in Main and Backup DSC method.
When “Data Center Number” i greater than 1, IP MODEM work in Multi Data Service Center
method

DSC domain name. When the Data Center Number i 1, Main and Backup Center DNS Server i
u ed to re olve the Main center and Backup center corre pondingly.
AT command of Main Center DNS erver:
AT+DNSSVR=aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd
aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd: The DNS erver IP addre (mu t be IP addre ） .
AT command of Backup Center DNS erver:
AT+DNSSV2=aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd
