2.Installationinstructions
2.1.Positionoftheunit
-Thepositionoftheappliancemustbechosenverycare-
fullyinordertoobtainthebestpossibleresultsforheat
distribution.
-Positiontheunittocomplywiththeminimumclearances
tocombustiblematerial.Minimumclearancesareshown
fromtheverticalportionofthechimneyconnector.Check
thatnooverheadcrossmembersintheceilingwillbecut.
Repositionunitifnecessary,beingcarefulnottomove
closerthantheminimumclearances.
2.2.Chimney
-Ensurethatthefluehassufficientdraught(refertotech-
nicaldetails).
-Minimumfluediameter,10cm(4"I.D).
-Thechimneymustbeatleast4.5m(15fthigh).
-Thefluemustnotbesharedwithanyotherappliance.
-Downdraughtscausedbyobstaclesclosetothechimney
topmaysometimesbepreventedbyfittingananti-down-
draughtcaptothetopofthechimney.
-Thechimneymusthaveaconstantcrosssection.Too
largeafluecouldaffectthechimneydraught.
-Thechimneymustbesoundlyconstructed,inorderto
preventcoldairinfiltration.
-Thefluemustbewellinsulated,waterandairtight.A
chimneywithacoldinternalsurfacecanpreventagood
chimneydraughtandcondensationwilloccur.
-Thefluemustbesweptatleastonceayear.
2.3.Chimneyconnector
-Theappliancemustbeascloseaspossibletothechim-
ney.Avoidhorizontalflueconnectionpipeswhichcan
dangerouslyrestrainfunctioningoftheappliance.
-Theconnectorpipeshouldbestandardblackpaintedor
bluedsteelpipeofnotlessthan30gage;304grade
stainlesssteelofnotlessthan30gage;or1mmviterous
enamelledsteel,withamaximumdiameterof5inchO.D.
-(127mm).Itistheinstaller’sresponsabilitytoconformto
localbuildingstandardsandrequirementswithregardto
installation..Singlewallpipemaybeutilizedbeingcareful
tomaintainclearancestoanycombustiblesurface.
Oncethestovehasbeenproperlyinstalledthechimney
draughtmustbecheckedwithadraughtmeter.
Ifthechimneydraughtisexcessiveorirregular,adraught
stabilizer(barometricdamper)mustbeinstalledtothe
connectorpipe.

Canada:Whenthestoveisconnectedtoanexternalor
remotetank,itmustbesecuredtothefloor(#2,ill.3).
Abarometricfueltankshouldnotbepositionnedwhereit
willbeinthedirectraysofthesunoradjacenttoasource
ofintenseheat.
Ifthetankismorethan8ft(2,5m)higherthanthestovea
pressurereducermustbeinstalledontheoilline
(seeill.7,page17).
Ifthetankislowerthanthestovealiftpumpwillhaveto
beutilized(seeill.7).
Aclearanceof6“(15cm)mustbemaintainedbetween
theexternal/remotetankandthestove.
2.9.Oilflowadjustment
Thefloatregulatorhasbeenadjustedatthefactoryand
shouldnotneedfurtheradjustment.
Iftheburnerdoesnotworkcorrectly,checkpossiblecau-
sesbeforereadjustingthesettings:
-Chimneydraught,
-Freshairinlet,
-Oilsupply.
Lowsetting(#2,ill.8,page18):
-Settheregulatingknobon“1"andlettheburnerrunfor
afewminutes.Theflamemustcompletelycoverthebot-
tomoftheburnerandthecatalyserbodymustbeglowing
redhot.
-Iftheflameistoosmall,thestovewillsootupquickly;
increasetheflamebyturningthesettingscrew#2clock-
wise.
-Iftheflameistoohigh;reducetheflamebyturningthe
settingscrew#6counterclock-wise
Highsetting(#3,ill.8,page18):
-Settheregulatingknobon“6"andlettheburnerrunfor
afewminutes.Theflamemustbeshapedlikeaconeand
reachtheupperpartofthewindow.

tweenadjustmentstoallowburnertostabilizetoprevious
adjustmentbeforeproceeding,ifnecessary.
2.10.Chimneydraught
Oncethestovehasbeenproperlyinstalled,thechimney
draughtmustbechecked.
Theadjustmentofthedraughtcanbemadewiththe
barometricdamperlocatedatthebackofthestove
(#1,ill.8).
Thereadingofthedraughtmustbedoneoncetheunitis
hot(minimum30minutesofuse).
Refertothespecificationspage15forminimumdraught
requirementonminisettingandonmaxisetting.
2.11.MaintenanceoftheChimney
Chimneyandchimneyconnectorshouldbeinspectedat
leastonceeverythreemonthsduringtheheatingseason
todetermineifasootbuilduphasoccurred.Ifsoothas
accumulated,itshouldberemovedtoreducetheriskofa
chimneyfire.
Onceortwiceayear:Removethefluebaffle
(#23,ill.10,page22).Firstremovethetopplate
(2screws,oneoneachsideofthestove).

3.Operatinginstructions
3.1.Fuel
Warning:Yourstoveisfittedwithaspecificcarburettorfor
aspecificoil.Thefueloilmustbefreefromanydirtand
waterwhichcoulddisturbthestoveinoperation.
1741025:Useonlykerosene(28seconds).
1741031:Useonlydieseloil(35seconds).
3.2.Lightingprocedure
Besurethecontrolknobisto“0"(#1,ill.9).
-Turnonoilsupply,
-Push down gently on the safety lever
(#4,ill.8,page18).Thiswillallowtheoiltoflowintothe
regulator.
-Openthefrontdoor,andremovethecatalyserfrom
burner(#4,5&6,ill.2,page16).Makesuretheinsideof
thepotiscleanthoroughly,andthereisnooilaccumula-
tion.
-Place2tablespoonsofmethylatedspiritorgelledalcohol
inthebottomofthepot.Lightthestartergelormethylated
spiritwithafireplacematchorlongbutanelighter.Place
thecatalyserbackintotheburner,beingsureitiscentered
intheburner.Shutthemaindoor.
-Allowthecatalysertoheatapproximately30to45sec..
Turndailto“1"position.
-Allow10to15minutesforoilfireanddraughttostabilize.
Thecatalysershouldglowredbeforeadjustingthecontrol
knobtoahighersetting.
3.3.Operatingprocedure
¤Allow10to15minutesafterlightingtoadjustthecontrol
knobtoahighersetting,usuallybetweena“2"and”4"
setting.
Whenadjustingtheheatoutput,movethecontrolknob
only1numberineitherdirection,allowing5minutesbe-
tweenmovesfortheflametore-adjusttonewsetting.
¤Iftheburnerstopsduringoperating,immediatlyturnoff
thecontrolknob(position“0")andwaituntiltheburneris
completelycoolbeforerepeatingthelightingprocedure.
3.4.Shuttingdown
-Setdialtothe“0"position(#1,ill.9)
-Raisethesafetyleveroftheregulator.
-Allowtheflametoburnoutcompletelybeforeopeningthe
door.
3.5.Recommendation
¤Theadjustmentofthestovehasbeenmadeatthe
factoryandcheckedbyyourinstaller.Anyanomalyof
operationshouldbereportedtohimatonce.
¤Thisroomheaterisahightheatproducingapplianceand
maycausesevereburnsiftouchedontheglassfrontdoor,
orontopdirectlyovertheburner-keepchildrenaway-Do
notusefordryingwetclothing.
CAUTION:Neverlighttheburnerifthereisoilinthe
burnerpot.Cleanoutoilbeforelighting.
Racing:Anaudibleflutteringsoundisanindicationthat
thereistoomuchoilinthepotburnerand/oralack
adequatedraught.
-turnoffoilsupplyandsetthecontrolknobinclosed
position“0",untilfirehasdecreasedtoproperburnrate.
¤Donotoverfire:Ifthestoveorchimneyconnector
startstoglow,youareoverfiring.
3.6.Maintenanceofthestove
¤Everyweek:operatethede-scalinglever
(#3,ill.9,page19):
-Pulltherod,thenpushtherodinrotating360degreestwo
orthreetimes(CAUTION:TherodisHOT).
¤Every3or4months:Cleantheburnercompletely.
-Remove all the parts of the catalyser
(#4,5&6,ill.2,page16).
-Usingasoftbristlebrush(asmallcleanpaintbrush),
carefullybrushoffthecatalyser.Loosenanycarbonsoot
fromthebottomoftheburnerwithaputtyknife,and
vacuumclean.Ensurethatthesmallairholesinburnerare
freeofcarbon.

¤Atleastonceayear/Endofheatingseason:Clean
orreplacealltheoilfiltersintheoilsupplyline.
To clean the filter of the float regulator :
-settheregulationknobinclosedposition“0",
-turnoffthetankvalveorthevalveoftheoilsupplyline,
-raisethesafetyleverofthefloatregulator,
-placeasmallcontainer(orasmallrag)undertheregula-
torfilteropeninginordertocollecttheoilcontainedinthe
regulator,
-removethefiltercoverplatelocatedundertheregulator
(#4,ill.9,page19)withascrewdriver,
-removethetubularfilterfromtheregulator.Clean,ifneit
withoilusingasoftbrush,neverawire-brush,
-replacethefilterintheregulator,installthecoverplate
andsecurewiththescrew.
¤Cleanalltheenamelledpanelsofthestovewithadryor
slighlydampsoftcloth.
¤Useasoftcleanclothtowipethefrontglasswhenthe
unitisrunningatalowburningrate.Whenthemaindoor
isopenedforcleaning,theflamewillbedisturb,andturn
toayellowflame.Cleanquickly,butgently.Closethedoor,
theflamewillreturntoanormalburningposition.

❧Warranty certificate ❧
❧ Legal warranty
Our products are guaranteed for twelve months against any
defect, flaw or imperfection. During this time, all parts judged
defective by our Warranty control department may be repla-
ced in our workshops. Incidental costs of transportation and
packing payable by the buyer.
Some parts or components have a longer warranty period :
- Cast-iron shell of boiler : 3 years
- Steel shell of boiler : 3 years
- Removable or independent stainless steel hot water cylin-
der : 5 years
- Independent enamelled steel hot water cylinder : 3 years
- Incorporated circulating pump : 2 years.
❧ Terms of the warranty
This warranty is only valid if :
- The unit has been installed and checked by a professional
installer before operating,
- All installation and adjustment instructions listed in the
technical manual supplied with the unit have been followed,
- All operation and maintenance instructions have been
followed.
This warranty does not cover :
- Lamps, fuses, spark plugs, cast iron parts directly in con-
tact with burning coal and wood, firebricks, glasses .
- Any damage resulting from the use of fuel not recommen-
ded in our instructions ;
- Parts which are damaged by external causes such as
unadapted chimneys, thunderstorms, damp, faulty pressure
or fail in pressure, thermic anomalies, explosions, etc...
- Electrical parts which are deteriorated by any connection
or use on a supply circuit with voltage within 10% of the
indicted voltage (230 V).
