SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
It is the owner’s responsibility to instruct all equipment
operators and support personal in the operation of the
machine. Do not operate this machine until the owner’s
manual has been completely read and understood. New
owner’s manual is available from your dealer or the
factory telephone: +45 98 632122.
All covers and screen must be correctly positioned and
checked before the machine is started. It is dangerous
to remain in the machine’s working area while its
working parts are rotating. Keep hands, feet, and
clothing away from the power-driven parts! Do not leave
the tractor running unattended.
Disengage the PTO and turn the tractor off before you
service the machine.
The machine is made to work in hay and straw crops
and may not be used for anything else.
The machine may only be operated by qualified
operator.
Familiarise yourself with the controls and how to stop
the machine and tractor in an emergency.
Do not let children or incapable persons operate the
machine. Machine lubrication, adjustment and setting
may only take place while machine is not in use and
while the power take-off is switched off.
Remove the keys so the tractor cannot be started up
accidentally.
Retighten bolts and check adjustments after approx. 5
hours of operation.
Use only original Fransgård spare parts.
Introduction:
Assemble instructions
The Swath Wilter model SV-2500 is partly assembled
from the factory. All loose parts must be mounted
according to the parts drawings later in this manual.
Loose part which is not mounted is: 3-point hitch, 2
pieces stabilising parts, 2 pieces rake tines, 2 pieces
wheels with brackets, support leg, PTO-cover and 2
pieces swath deflectors.
The gearbox is from Fransgård filled with 1,2 litre SAE
80/90 W oil and need to be checked by the plug at the
back of the gearbox before starting to operate
(picture 1).
The machine is mounted with 4 pieces V-belts, which is
tightened from Fransgård, but need to be checked
before operation otherwise retighten (picture 2).
Mounting on the tractor
The Swath Wilter SV-2500 is mounted on the tractors 3-
point hitch and the PTO is mounted after this. It is very
important to check the length of the PTO in both
working- and transport-position.

3
Starting the machine
The machine is lowered on the wheels (picture 3) which
is adjusted to the needed raking height. Fine
adjustment of raking height is done on the top link. The
support leg is raised. The swath deflectors are adjusted
to proper swath width. By spreading you can dismount
the swath deflectors if needed. The machine can be
adjusted to the right/left (picture 4) so the swath is
moved to the side.
Never reverse with the tractor and Swath Wilter
SV-2500 when the machine is running on its wheels.
The best working performance is done by a forward
speed from 8 –13 km/h (5-8 miles/h). Please check
rotor- and forward-speed according to the hay/crops
and your field conditions.
Lubrication and maintenance
For every 5 hours working the machines bearings, and
stickers (picture 5) and PTO shaft. Retighten bolts, nuts
and V-belts at the same.
The gearbox is filled with 1,2 litre gear oil SAE 80/90 W
and must be checked daily and refilled if needed.

Fitting the belt drive
The pulleys must be flush, and the shafts must be parallel.
After approx. 10 –20 min. driving, the V-belt must be retightened, the belts must max.
could be pressed 15mm per meter in span. If the belt is defective it must be replaced. If
the belt is new, you must retighten sometimes, this can contribute to the belt lasting longer
and you avoid downtime.
The strap must be tightened so much that it feels “alive”when it is set in oscillations with
one finger. Tightening the belt destroys the cord and causes unnecessarily high bearing
load.
If a closer check of the belt tension is desired, this can be done as follows: The span is
measured as shown in the sketch. In the middle of the span, a force K, perpendicular to
the span, is placed sufficient to deflect the belt 15 mm per 1 m span. The deflection force
for each V-belt should be within the minimum and maximum force given in the schedule.
The schedule applies to the classics.

Power transfer
Poor power transfer may be due to:
a. Fitting the belt drive incorrectly.
b. Dirt, oil, grease, paint and rust on belts and pulleys. Oil and grease on the discs can be
washed off with mineral spirits, benzene, trichlorethylene, tetra chlorocarbon and the like.
Oil and greaseon ordinary V-belts will eventually dissolve the rubber. Wipe thestraps with
a clean cloth, possibly with a little turpentine or similar.
Paint and rust on the pulley can be removed with emery cloth. The disc should preferably
rotate, possibly clamped in a lathe during trimming.
c. The belts / pulleys are worn so that the belts go to the bottom of the tracks. If the pulley
is shiny in the track bottom, this is probably the problem.
d. The belt record has been damaged due to:
Tightening of the belts.
New and used belts in the same pull or attachment with a screwdriver.
New belts should not be used in sets with used ones, as the results is that the new belts
wear quickly due to uneven distribution of the load.
The belt must neverbe forced over the pulleys, e.g., application with screwdriver. Instead,
the centre distance is reduced or thetension roller is relaxedso that the belt canbeapplied
by hand.
Storage of belt drive.
When machines are left fora long time with tightened belt drives and in a humid environment,
the following happens:
a. The pulleys rust and cause: That the belt wears up due to rust.
b. The belts are shaped according to the discs and at start-up may run with the inside out or
burst.
c. The bearing may be damaged due to the tightening.
It is therefore approprierede:
To remove the straps and put them in a dry and cool place. When hanging, this must be done
on a bow or similar, never on a nail.
To rust protect the pulley with special grease or oil.

Storage
Before the machine is stocked for the winter, the
machine must be cleaned and greased properly. V-belts
must be loosened, and swath deflectors must be
dismounted (take less space). The machines are
equipped with a lifting eye (picture 6) in each side for
lifting and storage.
Ordering spare parts
When you order spare parts please inform the following:
1. Type of machine (SV-2500) and
serial no.
2. Spare part number, maybe dimension and
number of parts.
Disposal and destruction.
When the machine can no longer be used, it is the
owner’s responsibility that the machine is disposed of in
a safe manner, oil, plastic, metals etc. Must be
destroyed or sent for recycling, in accordance with the
laws and regulations of that country.
