How to change the
Freka®PEG FR15 ENFit®
Intestinal feeding tube Y-Connector
To remove the Freka Click Adapter,
squeeze the contoured surfaces of the
Click Adapter firmly between two fingers.

Pull out the intestinal tube carefully for
approximately 3 - 4cm.

To prevent the intestinal tube from
slipping, close the tube clamp for fixation.

With the clamp remaining closed, cut the
tube as shown in the image which will
remove the Freka Click adapter. Now
remove the unscrewed Freka Y-Connector
and the pale blue fixation screw.
Attach the white screwing aid from the new
Freka connector end on to the existing pale
blue fixation screw. Unscrew the Freka
Y-Connector off the gastric feeding tube
and remove the white screwing aid.

Attach the white screwing aid on to the
new pale blue connector. Push the blue
and white fixation screw for the Freka
Y-Connector ENFit over the gastric
tube as shown.

Getting ready
•Always refer to local guidelines
• Collect all equipment needed on a clean table or tray
• Wash and dry hands before and after changing the Freka
PEG FR15 ENFit Intestinal feeding tube Y-Connector
Connection of the Y-Connector
to the gastric tube

Remove the white screwing aid (outer
white ring) of the Freka Y-Connector.
Push the new Click Adapter (green /
white) with its white end first over the
intestinal tube.
Push the metal pin of the Freka
Connector, up to its base into the
intestinal tube.
Screw the Click Adapter (green / white)
clockwise and tight onto the Freka
Connector. Screw the Click Adapter until
no rotation is possible, being careful not
to rotate the tube itself.
Open the tube clamp of the gastric tube
and push the connected Click Adapter
over the (green) intestinal access of the
Freka Y-Connector, marked with an ‘i’.
Make sure finger grips are 90 degrees
away from the Y port when connected to
aid future changing of the Freka Y
Connector. The fixation must be clearly
audible with a ‘click’.

Push the new Freka Y-Connector as far
as possible over the intestinal tube and
into the gastric tube (A). Secure the
Freka Y-Connector and the tube with
the pale blue fixation screw and the
white screwing aid (B) . Screw the blue
connector and NOT the tube.

Close the intestinal tube with the cap
of the Freka Connector.
