This quick introduction shows you the possibilities for deploying and operating the
FRITZ!Powerline510E Set. Comprehensive information is presented in the PDF manual
available on our website en.avm.de/service.
With the FRITZ!Powerline510E Set you can transmit data over the electrical wiring in
your household. Via this connection your network devices can conveniently exchange
data, and can access your home network and connect to your Internet router.
To launch operation, insert the FRITZ!Powerline devices in any outlets and connect
them with your FRITZ!Box, your computer and other network devices – that’s all.
With the AVM FRITZ!Powerline software you manage your powerline network and can
view detailed information about connections.
As the FRITZ!Powerline510E Set is preconfigured and encrypted upon delivery, it is
ready for immediate use.

Optimizing the Data Rate
A powerline network is influenced by many factors. With the following steps you can
contribute to an optimal data rate in your powerline network:
Avoid using multi-outlet strips and insert powerline devices directly into wall
outlets.
If you have to use multi-outlet strips, then
– use multi-strip outlets without surge protection
– connect as few devices as possible to the multi-outlet strip
– insert your powerline device in the first socket, directly at the cable
If you cannot avoid using multi-outlet strips without surge protection, then
– the surge protection should be located behind the powerline device
The data rate in a powerline network drops
– for connections over multiple phases
– when junction boxes are located on the path between your powerline devices
– when the connection has to pass through a circuit breaker, dimmer or electri-
cal ballast
– whenever power drills or vacuum cleaners are used
Attempt to minimize these influences.
The quality of your powerline network can also be managed and optimized using
the AVM FRITZ!Powerline software.

Die Datenrate optimieren
Ein Powerline-Netzwerk wird durch viele Faktoren beeinflusst. Mit folgenden Schritten
können Sie zu einer guten Datenrate in Ihrem Powerline-Netzwerk beitragen:
Vermeiden Sie den Einsatz von Mehrfachsteckdosen und stecken Sie Powerline-
Geräte direkt in Wandsteckdosen.
Lässt sich der Einsatz von Mehrfachsteckdosen nicht vermeiden, dann
– setzen Sie Mehrfachsteckdosen ohne Überspannungsschutz ein
– sollten Sie möglichst wenige Geräte an die Mehrfachsteckdose anschließen
– stecken Sie Ihr Powerline-Gerät ain den Steckplatz direkt am Kabel ein
Lässt sich der Einsatz von Mehrfachsteckdosen ohne Überspannungsschutz nicht
vermeiden, dann
– sollte sich der Überspannungsschutz hinter dem Powerline-Gerät befinden
Die Datenrate in einem Powerline-Netzwerk sinkt
– bei einer Verbindung über mehrere Phasen
– wenn Verteilerdosen auf dem Weg zwischen Ihren Powerline-Geräten liegen
– wenn die Verbindung einen FI-Schutzschalter, Dimmer oder Vorschaltgeräte
passieren muss
– wenn Bohrmaschinen oder Staubsauger eingesetzt werden

Con el kit FRITZ!Powerline510E Set se podrán transmitir datos con velocidad Gigabit
a través de la red eléctrica de su hogar. Sus dispositivos de red podrán intercambiar
datos cómodamente a través de esta conexión y además tendrán acceso a su red
doméstica y una conexión al router de Internet.
Para empezar a trabajar conecte los dispositivos FRITZ!Powerline a una toma de
corriente y luego conecte FRITZ!Box, el ordenador y/u otros dispositivos de red y ¡listo!
A través del programa FRITZ!Powerline de AVM tendrá una vista general de la red
Powerline y podrá visualizar información detallada acerca de la conexión.

Mejorar la velocidad de transmisión
El funcionamiento de la red Powerline depende de muchos factores. Con los siguientes
pasos podrá mejorar la velocidad de transmisión de datos en su red Powerline.
Evite el uso de regletas de enchufes y conecte los dispositivos Powerline directa-
mente a la toma de corriente.
Si no se puede evitar el uso de regletas de enchufes, entonces
– utilice regletas que no tengan protector de sobretensión
– conecte pocos dispositivos en la regleta
– conecte el dispositivo Powerline en la primera toma de la regleta, es decir, la
más cercana al cable
Si no se puede evitar el uso de regletas de enchufes con protector de sobretensión,
entonces
– esta protección debe estar ubicada detrás del dispositivo Powerline
Disminuye la velocidad de transmisión en la red Powerline...
– en una conexión de varias fases
– si las cajas de conexiones se encuentran entre sus dispositivos Powerline
– si la conexión debe pasar por un interruptor de protección, un reductor de luz o
un estabilizador
– cuando se utilizan máquinas de perforación o aspiradoras.
Trate de minimizar este tipo de situaciones que pueden tener efectos negativos en
la transmisión.
Con ayuda del programa AVM FRITZ!Powerline podrá manejar y mejorar la calidad
de su red Powerline.
