Install batteries in sensor package
Insert 2XAA batteries in the battery compartment. The LED indicator(on the top of the sensor)
will t rn on for 3 seconds and normally flash once every 8.8 seconds (the sensor transmission
pdate period).
If sensor has been p t o tside for some time, and solar panel has charged p the internal acc m lator
f lly or partially, if yo install the 2 AA back p batteries, the system might not start p properly. So
yo can always make a system reset by press the “Reset” b tton. ?

Figure 3: Battery installation diagram
Note: If no LED light p or is lighted permanently, make s re the battery is inserted the correct
way or a proper reset is happened. Do not install the batteries backwards. Yo can permanently
damage the o tdoor sensor
We recommend lithi m batteries for cold weather climates, b t alkaline batteries are s fficient for
most climates. We do not recommend rechargeable batteries. They have lower voltages, do not
operate well at wide temperat re ranges, and do not last as long, res lting in poorer reception.
Mount ultrasonic anemometer wit piezoelectric assembly
Before you mount
Before installing yo r o tdoor sensor in the permanent location, we recommend operating the device
for one week in a temporary location with easy access. This will allow yo to check o t all of the
f nctions, ens re proper operation and familiarize yo with the device performance.
1. P t the white O-ring on the o t of the pper part of o tdoor sensor array for protection against
moist re or water penetrated inside
2. Mo nting on a pole as Fig re 4. Make s re the mo nting pole is vertical, or very close to it. Use a
level as needed.
Note: S pports poles 1” OD

Figure 4: Sensor mounting diagram
3.
T
here is an arrow icon with”N” words (Fig re 5) representing the direction of North. The sensor
body has to be adj sted so that the “N” indication is facing to real north direction in yo r location.
A compass device is recommended to help adj st direction. Permanent wind direction error will be
introd ced when the o tdoor sensor is not installed in right direction.
Figure 5 Facing Nort diagram
Note: In So thern hemisphere, it is not necessary to change the orientation to SOUTH as its
solar panel is a ro nded type and it is orientation free for its charging capability.
Make s re the mo nting t be for the sensor package is installed vertically ( se a level at 90-
degree offsets aro nd the t be). Adj st the mo nting pipe as necessary. Next also make s re the
mo nting of the anemometer body on the pipe is level. If it is not, wind direction and speed
readings may not operate correctly or acc rately. Adj st the mo nting assembly as necessary.
4. D ring wintertime, to prevent ice formed on the reflection s rface, the optional extension cord be
connected to a 12v/1.0A o tdoor type power adapter as Fig re 6 showed below.
After power by the adaptor, the b ilt-in thermostat heating plate will a tomatically t rns on
below 5°C (40°F) and at tomattically t rns off above 10°C (50°F), the heat plate will melts snow
and ice and keeps its anemometer working as s al.
Note: The o tdoor rated adapter and extended power cable can be p rchased separately:

Reset Button and Transmitter LED
In the event the sensor package is not transmitting, reset the sensor.
Using a bent-open paperclip, press and hold the RESET BUTTON to affect a reset: the LED t rns on
while the RESET b tton is depressed, and yo can now let go. The LED sho ld then res me as
normal, flashing approximately once every 8.8 seconds.
Calibration
The ltrasonic sensor has been calibration before leaving the factory. We do not recommend that
c stomers do calibration by themselves.
C stomers se this feat re only when the wind speed does not ret rn to zero when there is no wind
After the prod ct works normally, se a cloth or sponge with good water absorption (prevent the echo
of the ltrasonic waves) to completely wrap the air inlet.
With an open ended paperclip, press and hold the CAL b tton for three seconds, the top LED light will
be on. After releasing the CAL b tton, place the prod ct on the table. After five seconds, the top LED
light will flash. At this time it is in the calibration mode. Wait for the LED to flash, the calibration is
over, and the prod ct a tomatically enters the normal working mode.
Accessory Part only, not included!

Table: Outdoor sensor specification
The primary power so rce for the o tdoor sensor is the solar panel. When available solar power
(light over recent period) is ins fficient, the batteries will be sed. In o tdoor climates that freq ently
have s stained temperat res below 0°C (or 32°F) the se of Lithi m batteries is strongly s ggested as
these are performing better than Alkaline batteries nder s ch circ mstances.

General safety instructions
Danger of asphyxiation:
eep all packaging materials (plastic bags, rubber bands, etc.) away from children. There is a
danger of suffocation!
Danger of burns:
Caution! Leaking / leaking battery acid can lead to burns! Avoid contact of battery acid with eyes,
mucous membranes and skin. In case of contact, rinse the affected areas immediately with clear
water and consult a doctor.
Ris of electric shoc :
Children must not be unattended with the device, because the device contains electronic parts
which are operated by means of a power source. The device may only be used as described in
the instructions. If not, there is a risk of electric shock.
Danger of fire & explosion:
Use only recommended batteries. Never short-circuit the unit or batteries. Never throw the device
or batteries into a fire! Overheating and improper handling may result in short circuits which can
cause fires and explosions.
Important:
If there is a defect, contact your dealer immediately. Never disassemble the device! The dealer
will contact the service department. Never expose the device to water! Protect the device from
vibrations. Only use recommended batteries. Never mix batteries - Always replace empty
batteries with a complete set of full power batteries. If the unit is not powered for a longer period
of time or is not in use, remove the batteries from the unit. The manufacturer accepts no liability
for incorrectly inserted batteries!
Notes on the return of batteries according to §12 BatterieVO: Batteries do not belong in the
household waste. Please dispose of all batteries as required by law, disposal in domestic waste is
expressly prohibited. Batteries and rechargeable batteries can be dispensed free of charge at
municipal collection points or in the shops on the spot.
