Dr. FerdinandPorsche, the founder of Porsche,whendesign-
ing the350 intended to build a "fast compact car" above
all. The Porsche 356 thus laid down the basic policy ofthe
Porschecars. The356wasa 2+2 type sports car,design-
ed by FerryPorsche, thesonofDr. Porsche. It featured an
engine and transmission adopted from theVW Beetle. The
356 was produced during 17 years, from1948 to 1965,
gradually evolving from the basic 356tothe 356-A,356-B
and 356-C, with almost no modification inits body styling.
With the advent ofthe Porsche356, the world of lightweight
sports cars saws a new kind of car. The356 became a mile-
stone inthe world of automobiles, andhasasa matter of
fact in manydifferentwaysinfluenced the911 that wasin-
troducedonlymuchlater.

Fahrzeug ubernommen wurden. Das Modell 356kamvor14
Jahren indie Produktion (1948-1965) mit Nachfolgetypen 356-A,
356-B und 356-C mit fastkeiner Anderung der Gehauseform.
Mit dem Erscheinen des Porsches 356wardie Welt der
leichtgewichtigen Sportautos ein Gesprachsthema fureinen
grolien Wandel. Mitdem Porsche 356 wurde ein Monument
der weltweiten popularen Autoserie"Porsche"geschaffen und
das traditionelle KonzeptbrachteweitereaktuelleTypen bis
zum Porsche 911 spater heraus.

Ainsi, la Porsche 356 devint le modele des Porsches a venir. La
Porsche 356 etait une voiture de sport de type2+2,construite
par Ferry Porsche, le fils de monsieur Porsche. Elle comprenait

La 356fut produit pendant 17 ans, de 1948 en 1965, se develop-
pantgraduellement dela356de base aux modeles 356-A, 356-B

gen. (8) Niemals Kleber Oder Farben inder Na'he von
