1 CONSTRUCTIVE FEATURES
• The unit’s bearing structure is made from galvanised steel sheet,
externally and internally insulated with heat and soundproofing material.
This structure houses the main components (heat exchanger, fan drive
assembly and condensate drainage pump) and is designed for letting
outdoor air in and distributing air to an adjacent room.
• Statically and dynamically balanced centrifugal fan with backward-
curving blades, mounted directly on the electric motor. The blades are
designed for very low-noise and efficient operation also at slow speed.
• 230V electric motor with thermal protection on the windings. It has
4 speeds to optimise unit performance in terms of noise and energy.
• High efficiency heat exchanger made with copper piping and aluminium
fins, complete with air vent valves.
• Plastic water drip tray moulded inside the polystyrene air directing
structure.
• Condensate drainage pump with a useful head of 250 mm, complete
with float and a level switch for controlling the level of condensate inside
the tray and alarm management.
Operating logic assures a lowering of fan speed when the drainage
pump is working (float switch trips, first level) to facilitate the flow of
condensate from the exchanger fins.
• Electrical components housed in an external box, consisting of the
electronic board that controls the unit and a relay for pump operation.
The box is located by the side of the water connections to reduce the
need for installation clearance.
• Plastic water drip tray moulded directly inside the polystyrene air
directing structure.
• Air intake and outlet polystyrene panel, RAL 9001 colour, preformed
high density polystyrene foam air passages complete with air suction
grid, a washable polypropylene filter and adjustable air outlet fins. The
panel differs between the version configured for a wired controller, where
the louver position is manually adjusted, and the version with infrared
remote control where adjustment is motorized. On the front there is also
a series of LEDs indicating the operating status of the unit.
OPERATING LIMITS
• Water circuit
- Minimum temperature of water inlet: 4°C.
- Maximum temperature of water inlet:
- main heat exchanger: 70°C
- secondary heat exchanger: 80°C
Note: To ensure optimal comfort (homogeneous air temperature
in the room), it is recommended not to exceed an exchanger inlet
temperature of 55°C:
- Maximum operating pressure: 16 bar.
• Room air:
- Minimum temperature of room air intake: 5°C
- Maximum temperature of room air intake: 32°C
Warning: during a shutdown for installation, in the event of a
connection to a fresh air intake or an ambient temperature close
to 0°C there will be a risk of the pipes freezing. Provide drainage
for the plumbing circuit.

5 PERFORMANCES
In order to define the performances of IWC subject to conditions different from rated conditions, a computer program for the correct choice of the units
is provided by Galletti SpA.
With a few input data it will be possible to get information on the behaviour of an IWC referring to the desired operating conditions.
It will be sufficient to enter the following data:
• Dry bulb inlet air temperature
• Wet bulb inlet air temperature or alternatively the relative humidity
• Inlet water temperature
• Outlet water temperature or alternatively the water flow
• Ethylene glycol percentage (default 0)
• Fan speed
• Available static head (default 0)
• Directivity factor and distance
Output data
• Air flow rate
• Total cooling / heating capacity
• Sensible cooling capacity
• Water flow
• Pressure drop, water side
• Outlet air temperature
• Sound power level
• Sound pressure level under the specified conditions
• Power input
The selection report generated by the software includes the drawing with overall dimensions and description of the unit.

7 WATER CONNECTIONS
• Connection ½” (MODELS IWC 3-4-5) ¾” (MODELS IWC 6-8) gas female on the unit.
- Water inlet: bottom connection.
- Water outlet: top connection.
• The installation of a motorized valve is essential for operation in the cooling mode in order to avoid the risk of leakage from the condensation tank during
unit shutdowns caused by a thermostat interruption or in case of a condensation pump failure (for instructions on installing the valve, see paragraph on
“accessories”).
Warning: secure the unit connections correctly with a backup wrench when tightening to avoid twisting the pipes inside the unit.
• Carefully insulate the inlet and outlet water pipes as well as the devices installed in the network (on/off valves…). Use a material that is suitable for the
operating conditions and water temperature.
• The unit is provided with an air vent valve above the connections. Depending on installation, it may be necessary to place other vent valves in the
plumbing system.

9 ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
GENERALITIES
• Class 1 Unit.
• The electrical installation must comply with current standards and regulations (paying particular attention to standards NF C 15-100, CEI 364).
DETAILS OF CONNECTIONS
• Several cable clamps are provided to secure the cables at the entry to the control panel.
• Connect the cables to the terminal boards provided.
• Make sure that the cables are properly connected to the terminals. Improper connection of cables may cause functional problems, superheating and
fire.
• When replacing the panel cover, be careful not to damage the cables.
POWER SUPPLY
• 230V / 1 + Ground / 50Hz with protection device and disconnector (not supplied), in accordance with current regulations and norms. Protection must
be assured by a bipolar switch (not supplied).
Note: The unit is designed to be connected to a main power supply with a TT (earthed neutral) or TN-S earthing system according to NF C 15-100. For a
neutral IT system (isolated neutral), provide differential protection.
• During operation, a voltage change of ± 10 % is admitted.
• The cross sections reported are merely indicative. They should be checked and modified, if necessary according to the installation conditions and
in accordance with the current regulations.
