INSTALLATION

2. DO NOT place articles on or against this appliance.
3. DO NOTuseorstoreammablematerialsnearthis
appliance.
4.Childrenandadultsshouldbealertedtothehazards
ofhighsurfacetemperatures,burnsandclothing
ignition.
5.Childrenshouldbecarefullysupervisedwhenthey
are in the area of the appliance.
6. NEVER hang anything including clothes or other
ammableitemsontheappliance.
7. DO NOT operate this appliance unless it is fully
assembledwithreectorinplace.
8. DO NOT SPRAY AEROSOLS IN THE VICINITY OF
THIS APPLIANCE WHILE IT IS IN OPERATION.
9.Installationandrepairshouldbedonebyaqualied
serviceperson.Theappliancemustbeinspected
beforeuseandatleastannuallybyaqualied
serviceperson.Morefrequentcleaningmaybe
required as necessary. It is imperative that control
compartment,burnersandcirculatingairpassages
oftheapplianceandlightbekeptclean.
Priortoassemblingyourappliance,thefollowingmustbe
reviewed. Compliance with the following should result in
satisfactory appliance operation. This instruction manual
shouldberetainedforfuturereference.Theinstallation
must conform with local codes or authority having
jurisdiction.
1. The appliance is intended for residential and
nonresidential outdoor spaces. The installation
must conform with New Zealand Standard 5261 “Gas
Installations”.
2. Adequate clearance around air openings into the
combustionchamber,clearancesfromcombustible
materials,provisionsforaccessibilityandfor
combustionandventilatingairsupplymustbe
maintained at all times when the appliance is
operating.
3. Properclearancefromcombustiblematerialsmustbe
maintained at all times. The minimum clearances are
as follows:

Combustiblematerialsareconsideredtobewood,
compressedpaper,plantbres,plastic,plexiglasor
othermaterialscapableofbeingignitedandburned.
Suchmaterialsshallbeconsideredcombustibleeven
thoughameproofed,re-retardanttreatedorplastered.
Additionalclearancemayberequiredforglass,painted
surfacesandothermaterialswhichmaybedamagedby
radiant or convection heat.
4. Theappliancemustbeplacedonalevelandadequate
footingandbereadilyaccessible.
5. Thegasmanifoldsupplypressuremustberegulated
at2.75kPautilisinganapprovedregulator
(supplied with appliance).
6. Theappliancemustbeinspectedbeforeeachuse,and
atleastannuallybyaqualiedserviceperson.
a.Theapplianceareamustbekeptclearandfreeof
combustiblematerials,gasolineandother
ammablevapoursandliquids.
b.Gasoricesandburnermustbekeptclearofdirt
andcobwebs.Flowofcombustionandventilation
air through the perforated portions of the appliance
mustnotbeobstructed.Cleaningwithasoft
brushbeforeuseandatleasteverysixmonthsis
recommended.
c.Allgasconnectionsshouldbecheckedforleaks
utilisingasoapsolution.Neveruseaameforthis
purpose.
d.Theamepatternattheemittergridshouldbe
visuallycheckedwhenevertheapplianceis
operated.Ifamesextendbeyondsurfaceofthe
emittergridorblacksootisaccumulatingonthe
emittergridorreector,theapplianceshould
beturnedoffimmediately.Theapplianceshouldnot
beoperatedagainuntiltheunitisservicedandor
repaired.
e.Anycleaningagentusedontheapplianceshouldbe
ofanon-combustibleandnon-corrosivenature.
Warm soapy water is ideal. While washing the
appliance,besuretokeeptheareaaroundthe
burnerandpilotassemblydryatalltimes.Ifthe
gas control is exposed to water in any way, do NOT
trytouseit.Theapplianceshouldberegularly
cleaned and protected to reduce oxidation, ideally a
covershouldbeusedwhennotinuse.
f. The emitter grid normally does not require cleaning
and should NEVERbepainted.Thereectormay
becleaned,butneverpainted.
