■The icemaker water valve will buzz when the
icemaker fills with water. If the ower switch
is in the ON osition, it will buzz even if it has
not yet been hooked u to water. Kee ing
the ower switch in the ON osition before
it is hooked u to water can damage the
icemaker. To revent this, move the ower
switch to the OFF osition. This will sto
the buzzing.

Automatic Icemaker
The icemaker will roduce seven cubes
er cycle—a roximately 100–130
cubes in a 24-hour eriod, de ending on
freezer com artment tem erature, room
tem erature, number of door o enings
and other use conditions.
If the refrigerator is o erated before the
water connection is made to the icemaker,
set the ower switch to OFF.
When the refrigerator has been connected to
the water su ly, set the ower switch to ON.
The icemaker will fill with water when
it cools to freezing. A newly-installed
refrigerator may take 12 to 24 hours
to begin making ice cubes.
You will hear a buzzing sound each time
the icemaker fills with water.
Throw away the first few batches of ice to
allow the water line to clear.
Be sure nothing interferes with the swee
of the feeler arm.
When the bin fills to the level of the feeler
arm, the icemaker will sto roducing ice.
It is normal for several cubes to be joined
together.
If ice is not used frequently, old ice cubes
will become cloudy, taste stale and shrink.

Preparing for Vacation
Set the icemaker ower switch
to OFF and shut off the water su ly
to the refrigerator.
If the tem erature can dro below freezing,
have a qualified servicer drain the water
su ly system (on some models) to revent
serious ro erty damage due to flooding.
When you shoul set the icemaker power switch to OFF
■When the ice storage bin is removed
for more than a minute or two.
■When the water su ly will be shut off
for several hours.
■When the refrigerator will not be used
for several days.
