1.Alwaysturnopowertotheairconditioningorheatingsystem
priortoinstallingthermostat.
2.DeterminetheHVACequipmenttype.Compatibleequipment
is:
a.1StageHeat/1StageCoolConventionalSystem
b.2StageHeat/2StageCoolConventionalSystem
c.3StageHeat/2StageCoolConventionalSystem
d.1StageHeat/1StageCoolHeatPumpSystem
e.2StageHeat/2StageCoolHeatPumpSystem

3.Refertothewiringdiagramstodeterminethenumberof
wiresnecessarytoinstallthisthermostat.
4.Ensurethepowertotheairconditioningorheatingsystemis
turnedo.
5.Removefrontofthermostatbodyfromsub-base.
6.Guidethermostatwiresthroughcenterholeinsub-base.
7.Placethethermostatsub-baseagainstwallinthedesired
thermostatlocation.
8.Markplacementofmountingholesasappropriate.
9.Removethermostatsub-basefromwallandinstallwall
anchorsasrequiredatmountingholelocations.
10.Re-insertwiresthroughcenterholeofsub-baseandreplace
sub-baseonwall.

11.Fastensub-basetowallusingsupplied#6screwsintowall
anchors.
12.Refertowiringdiagramsandwirethermostatsub-basetothe
attachedHVACequipment.
13.Topreventelectricalshortsandpotentialdamagetothe
thermostat,ensureallofthesub-basewire connectionsare
secureandarenottouchinganyotherterminal.Pushany
excesswirebackintowallcavityandinsulatewireopening
withsuitablematerial.
14.Onthermostatbody,locateswitchSW1onthermostatcircuit
board.
15.SetswitchSW1-2toHPforheatpumpsystemorSTDfor
conventional(orStandard)system.
Forheatpumpsystem,setswitchSW1-1toE/Bforheat
changeovervalveorG/Oforcoolchangeovervalve.For
conventional(orStandard)system,setswitchSW1-1toE/Bfor
ElectricorG/OforGas.
16.Attachfrontbodyofthermostattosub-baseofthermostat,
beingcarefultoaligntheterminalpinsonthefrontbodywith
theterminalblockonthesub-base.
17.RestoresystempowerandcontinuetoTestthethermostat.

Conventional HVAC System
1.HoldtheMENUbuttonandthenpresstheResetpinhole.
WhenINSTALLATIONMODEisdisplayed,releasedtheMENU
button.Alloutputsshallbeturnedo.
2.“HVAC:ELECHeat/Cool”indicatesyousetElectric
ConventionalSystem,“HVAC:GASHeat/Cool”indicatesyou
setGasConvectionalSystem.Ifitisincorrect,pleasereview
thepositionsofswitchSW1.
3.“FAN”shouldbehighlighted.PresstheUPorDOWNbuttonto
toggletheFANoutput(ON/OFF).AftertestingtheFANoutput,
keepitinONsettingtotestotheroutputs.
4.PresstheNEXTbuttontohighlight“COOL:Stage1”.Pressthe
UPorDOWNbuttontotoggletheCOOLStage1output(ON/
OFF).
5.PresstheNEXTbuttontohighlight“COOL:Stage2”.Pressthe
UPorDOWNbuttontotoggletheCOOLStage2output(ON/
OFF).
6.PresstheNEXTbutton.Allcooloutputswillbeturnedo.The
fanoutputwillbeturnedoforaGASSystem.Thefanoutput
willbekeptinitscurrentstateforanElectricSystem.
HEAT:Stage1”ishighlighted.PresstheUPorDownbuttonto
toggletheHEATstage1output(ON/OFF).
7.PresstheNEXTbuttontohighlight“Stage2”.PresstheUPor
DOWNbuttontotoggletheHEATStage2output(ON/OFF).
8.PresstheNEXTbuttontohighlight“Stage3”.PresstheUPor
DOWNbuttontotoggletheHEATStage3output(ON/OFF).
9.PresstheResetpinholetoexitINSTALLATIONMODE.

6.PresstheNEXTbutton.Allcooloutputswillbeturnedo.The

enablethisProgrammableThermostattoworkwiththeexisting
wiring.

Installation and Wiring
1.Mounttheaccessoryatornearbytheequipmentstrip.
2.Labeleachwiretobeconnected,eg.RH,RC,C,Y,W,G.
3.ThetwoleadsoftheDiobePairareconnectedtothermostat
terminals,YtoY,WtoW.Selectoneoftheexistingthermostat
wired(eitherthe“W”or“Y”)toconnecttooppositesideofthe
DiobePair.Thisthermostatwireshouldbeconnectedtothe
“W”or“Y”terminaloftheaccessory,andthetwoterminalsare
shortedbyajumperwireontheAccessory.
4.Theleftoverwirefromtheabovestep(eitherthe“W”or“Y”
dependingonwhichwasusedfortheDiablePair)willnowbe
usedforthe“C”wire.
5.The“G”isdirectconnectedfromthethermostattothe
equipment.Ifthe“G”wireisnotavailable,donotconnectthis
wire.
