Introduction
Gemas Starting Block presents a powerful new patented feature, revolutionising the way the
swimmers start from their blocks. Diving from the starting block with the body propelled by the
knee at a 90° angle drastically increases the explosiveness of the start. Studies have shown that
this feature allows faster races than a standard platform.
Gemas Starting Block , both platform and footrest were determined at optimum angles to
improve the start. It also has upper surfaces that are comfortable enough but hard enough to give
the swimmer a feeling of complete safety. The length of the platform has been extended by 74 cm
to accommodate new starting styles.
The diameter and position of the handgrips have also been carefully considered to respond to
all the requirements of different hand positions. A door at the back of the block allows easy access
to the interior to assembly.

2 –INSTALLATION
Installation and assembly work must be done by authorized service or
experienced people. Otherwise, the manufacturer and the seller cannot be
held responsible for the problems that may arise from incorrect installation
and operating. Repair, maintenance and parts replacement cannot be claimed
under warranty.
Before starting the assembly, make sure that the following conditions are met by
taking safety precautions for the device to work smoothly and for your safety of life and
property.
2.1 Positioning of the starting blocks
The starting blocks are positioned according to the measures indicated:
400 mm from the swimming pool border (410 mm with the touchpad).
The handle of block must be aligned with the border of the touchpad. If touch plates are
missing or the swimming pool with touchpads is too small, align the starting block with the
border of the swimming pool.
The rectangular fixations permit a movement of the block as +/-10mm ; this makes a possible
correction of the alignment.
2.2 Fixation of the starting block
To ensure proper functioning of the starting block system,fixation must be absolutely rigid.
Place the drilling template (1.2. Starting Block Fixing Set 1) on the edge of the swimming pool
and mark the points to be drilled.
Drill the 4 holes respectively with drills 5, 10 and 16mm (1.2. Starting Block Fixing Set 2)
Minimal depth: 90mm, maximal depth: 95mm.
Place the starting block on the 4 fixing points by slotting the Internal Threaded Anchor M8 x 90
(1.2. Starting Block Fixing Set 3) that screws into the holes Ø16.
Secure the block from its base using the Stainless Washer M8 (1.2. Starting Block Fixing Set
4) and Hex Head Stainless Screw M8 x 40 (1.2. Starting Block Fixing Set 5).

3 –CONTROL AND MAINTENANCE OF THE STARTING BLOCK
3.1.Control without application of pressure
Connect the buzzer (11) to the connection cable (9). If there is no pressure on the platform,
the buzzer (11) remains silent. If the buzzer (11) emits a sound, proceed as described in
paragraph 3.5.
3.2 Pressure sensitivity control
Press with the Dynamometer (12) against the middle of the platform (3). Read on the
Dynamometer (12) the pressure necessary to activate the buzzer (11). If the sensitivity is out of
the range of 13kg and 18kg, see paragraph 3.7.
3.3 Connection to the timing system
If a satisfactory result has been obtained in tests 3.1 and 3.2, connect the connection cable (9)
to the timing system.
3.4 Inspection
Every 6 months : Check cable connections.
Once a year : Check rigidity of block fixation.
3.5 Troubleshooting (Detection Of A Short Circuit)
If the buzzer (11) emits a sound while there is no pressure on the platform, proceed as follows:
Insert the two holes at the front of the weight sensing plate (4) and unscrew each of the
adjustment screws (6) until they do not touch the contact head any more.If the sound continues,
check for whether there appears a short circuit (mechanical or electrical connection) in the cable or
between the fixed, moving plates of the weight sensing plate (4).

3.6 Troubleshooting (No Contact)
If the buzzer (11) does not emit a sound during the sensitivity adjustment, proceed as follows :
Make sure that the platform and the weight sensitivity plate (4) are correctly assembled ;
adjustment screws (6) must be a visible in front of the platform.
Make sure that the 2 adjustment screws are not too far from contact head.
3.7 Sensitivity adjustment
If the sensitivity is out of the range of 13kg and 18kg (as indicated in paragraph 3.2), make an
adjustment by proceeding as follows:
Connect the buzzer (11).
If the measured pressure is higher than 18kg,tighten the adjustment screws (6) of the weight
sensing plate (4) and test fully on the surface.
If the pressure is lower than 13kg, loosen the screws (6) and test the weight at every facet.
It is recommended to proceed systematically with the adjustment to obtain a regular play
between the 2 contacts.
4 –PREVENTION AND MAINTENANCE
Equipment installed in aquatic complex, often sealed with a high moisture level, require special
attention in regards to their maintenance. In fact, the stainless steel parts found on ladders, fences
or swimming starting blocks can have corrosion if they are not frequently cleaned. Stainless steel is
an excellent product that needs to be very clean to keep its stainless quality. In order to use the
product smoothly and elegantly for a long time, Kit 2 (031002) Rust Remover + Protector +
Polisher in the Stainless Steel Care and Cleaning Chemicals section of the GEMAŞ product catalog is
recommended.
4.1. Maintenance
When you receive your new equipment, it is important to establish a maintenance program to
avoid the stainless steel parts to deteriorate. Indeed, lack of maintenance can make the chromium
oxide film inefficient, which could cause corrosion on your equipment. A dirty surface is the biggest
ally of corrosion and your biggest enemy. Dirt, grease and deposit left by users or by contaminated
water deposit must be removed by cleaning the surface with fresh water (do not use the pool’s
water) and wiped, if possible, with a clean dry cloth. A basic cleaning of the starting blocks’ inner
and outer surfaces (without disassembling) must be done regularly, preferably every week. A
thorough cleaning with removal of the top (see manual) must be done regularly, several times a
year, depending on the degree of contamination of the stainless steel. Concerning dismantling, it is
imperative to use tools that are specially designed for stainless steel.Applying hydrophobic
(insoluble in water) Kit 2 (031002) Rust Remover + Protector + Polisher in the Stainless Steel Care
and Cleaning Chemicals section of the GEMAŞ product catalog, also increases the protection of
sensitive areas of the weight sensing plate against corrosion.
4.2 Cleaning
If your equipment is already showing significant dirt deposits, you need to get rid of them
because the oxygen from the air gets in contact with the chromium in the stainless steel to form
the protective chromium oxide film.For this reason, the surface must be clean. A thorough cleaning
with fresh water should be sufficient then wipe with a cotton cloth. The protective film or aesthetic
coating of the product should not be damaged.After a thorough cleaning, clean the stainless steel
with fresh water twice a week during a few months and then decrease the frequency.Make sure the
pad you use is not rough to prevent it damaging the protective film or the aesthetic finish of the
product. Never use a metal brush, steel wool, sandpaper or any abrasive material for cleaning.

4.3. Reminder
A weekly basic cleaning is required.
A thorough cleaning must be done regularly,twice a year.
You must use fresh water for cleaning.
Never use abrasive material to clean the stainless steel parts.
Drying the stainless steel parts must be done using a clean dry cloth.
Use specially dedicated stainless steel tools for dismantling the starting blocks.
In order to use the product smoothly and elegantly for a long time, Kit 2 (031002) Rust
Remover + Protector + Polisher in the Stainless Steel Care and Cleaning Chemicals section of
the GEMAŞ product catalog is recommended.

Giriş
GEMAŞ Atlama Platformu, yüzücülerin atlama platformundan atlayış biçiminde devrim yaratan
güçlü ve yeni bir özellik sunar. Vücut diz tarafından 90 ° açıyla itilirken atlama platformundan suya

2 –MONTAJ –KURULUM
Montaj ve kurulum işlemleri kesinlikle yetkili servis veya tecrübeli kişiler
tarafından gerçekleştirilmelidir. Aksi halde hatalı montaj ve devreye almadan
kaynaklanabilecek sorunlardan üretici ve satıcı firma sorumlu tutulamaz.
Garanti kapsamında tamir, bakım ve parça değişimi talep edilemez.
Cihazın sorunsuz çalışabilmesi, can ve mal güvenliğiniz için montaja başlamadan
önce emniyet önlemlerini alarak aşağıdaki koşulların sağlandığından emin olun.
2.1 Atlama Platformlarının Konumlandırılması
Atlama platformları belirtilen ölçülere göre konumlandırılmalıdır:
Yüzme havuzu kenarından 400mm (Dokunmatik yüzey ile 410 mm) olmalıdır.
Platformun tutamak yeri, dokunmatik yüzeyin kenarlığıyla hizalanmalıdır. Dokunmatik plakalar
eksikse veya dokunmatik yüzeyli yüzme havuzu çok küçükse, atlama platformunu yüzme
havuzunun kenarıyla hizalanmalıdır.
Dikdörtgen şekilli fiksaj sabitlemeleri platformun +/-10mm oynamasına izin verir; bu da
hizalamada olası bir düzeltmeye olanak sağlar.
2.2.Atlama Platformunun Sabitlenmesi
Atlama platformu sisteminin düzgün çalışması için fiksaj işlemi kesinlikle çok sağlam olmalıdır.
Delik şablonunu(1.2.Atlama Platformu Fiksaj Seti 1) yüzme havuzunun kenarına yerleştirin ve
delinecek noktaları işaretleyin.
Sırasıyla Ø5, Ø10 ve Ø16mm matkapla(1.2.Atlama Platformu Fiksaj Seti 2) 4 adet deliği açın.
Minimum derinlik; 90mm, maksimum derinlik 95mm olmalıdır.
İçten Dişli Ankraj M8 x 90(1.2.Atlama Platformu Fiksaj Seti 3) vidalarını Ø16 deliklerine
yuvalayarak atlama platformunu 4 sabitleme noktası üzerine yerleştirin.
Atlama platfomunu tabanından Paslanmaz Rondela M8(1.2.Atlama Platformu Fiksaj Seti 4) ve
Altıgen Başlı Paslanmaz Vida M8 x 40(1.2.Atlama Platformu Fiksaj Seti 5) kullanarak sabitleyin.

3 –ATLAMA PLATFORMUNUN KONTROL VE BAKIMI
3.1.Basınç Uygulanmadan Kontrol İşlemi
Sesli uyarıcıyı(11) bağlantı kablosuna(9) bağlayın. Platform üzerinde baskı yoksa uyarıcı(11)
sessiz kalır. Eğer sesli uyarıcı(11) uyarı verirse, paragraf 3.5’te açıklandığı gibi işleme devam edin.
3.2.Basınç Hassasiyet Kontrol İşlemi
Dinamometre(12) ile platformun(3) ortasına doğru bastırın. Dinamometre(12) üzerinde, sesli
uyarıcıyı(11) etkinleştirmek için gerekli olan basıncı okuyun. Eğer hassasiyet 13-18kg aralığının
dışındaysa, paragraf 3.7’ye bakın.
3.3.Zaman Ayarlama Sistemine Bağlantı
Testlerden(3.1. ve 3.2.) tatmin edici bir sonuç elde edilirse, bağlantı kablosunu(9) zamanlama
sistemine bağlayın.
3.4.Muayene
Her 6 Ayda Bir: Kablo bağlantılarını kontrol edin.
Her Yıl: Platform fiksajının sertliğini kontrol edin.
3.5.Sorun Giderme(Kısa Devre Tespiti)
Platform üzerinde basınç yokken sesli uyarıcı(11) aktive olursa, aşağıdaki şekilde devam edin:
Ağırlık algılama plakasının(4) ön kısmında bulunan ayar civatalarının(6) ikisinide kontak
başlığına temas etmeyecek şekilde sökün. Ses eğer devam ederse, kabloda veya ağırlık algılama
plakasının(4) sabit, hareketli plakaları arasında kısa devre(mekanik veya elektriksel bağlantı) olup
olmadığını kontrol edin.

3.6.Sorun Giderme(Temas Yok)
Hassasiyet ayarı sırasında sesli uyarıcı(11) aktive olmazsa, aşağıdaki şekilde devam edin:
Platformun ve ağırlık algılama plakasının(4) doğru bir şekilde monte edildiğinden emin olun.
Ayar civataları(6) platformun ön kısmında olmalıdır.
2 ayar vidasınında kontak başlığından çok uzak olmadığından emin olun.
3.7.Hassasiyet Ayarı
Hassasiyet 13-18 kg aralığının dışındaysa(paragraf 3.2’de belirtildiği gibi), aşağıdaki şekilde
devam ederek bir ayarlama yapın:
Sesli uyarıcıyı bağlayın(11).
Ölçülen basınç 18Kg’dan yüksekse, ağırlık algılama plakasının(4) ayar cıvatalarını(6) sıkın ve
her yüzeyde ağırlığı test edin.
Ölçülen basınç 13Kg’dan düşükse, ağırlık algılama plakasının(4) ayar cıvatalarını(6) gevşetin ve
her yüzeyde ağırlığı test edin.
2 kişi arasında düzenli bir oyun için, ayarlamaya sistematik olarak devam etmeniz önerilir.
4 –ÖNLEYİCİ TEDBİR VE BAKIMI
Su sporları merkezine monte edilen ve genellikle yüksek nem seviyesine maruz kalan ekipman,
bakımı açısından özel dikkat gerektirir. Merdiven, parmaklık ve atlama platformunda bulunan çelik
parçalar, sıklıkla temizlenmezlerse korozyona uğrayabilir. Paslanmaz çelik, paslanmaz kalitesini
korumak için çok temiz olması gereken bir üründür. Ürünü uzun süre sorunsuz ve şık bir şekilde
kullanabilmek için GEMAŞ ürün kataloğunda bulunan Paslanmaz Çelik Bakım ve Temizlik
Kimyasalları kısmındaki Kit 2(031002) Pas Sökücü + Koruyucu + Parlatıcı tavsiye edilir.
4.1.Bakım
Yeni ekipmanı teslim aldığınızda, paslanmaz çelik parçaların bozulmasını önlemek için bir bakım
programı oluşturmak önemlidir. Bakım eksikliği, krom oksit filmini verimsiz hale getirebilir ve bu da
ekipmanda korozyona neden olabilir. Kirli bir yüzey, korozyonun en büyük müttefiki ve sizin en
büyük düşmanınızdır. Kullanıcılardan veya su birikintilerinden kaynaklanan kir, yağ ve tortu; temiz
su ile temizlenerek (havuz suyunu kullanmayın) ve temiz, kuru bir bezle silinerek bertaraf
edilmelidir. Atlama platformlarının iç ve dış yüzeylerinin (sökülmeden) temel temizliği, tercihen her
hafta düzenli olarak yapılmalıdır. Paslanmaz çeliğin kirlilik derecesine bağlı olarak yılda birkaç kez,
üst kısmın çıkarılmasıyla birlikte kapsamlı bir temizlik yapılmalıdır. Sökme işlemi ile ilgili olarak,
paslanmaz çelik için özel olarak tasarlanmış aletlerin kullanılması zorunludur. Hidrofobik (suda
çözünmez) GEMAŞ ürün kataloğunda bulunan Paslanmaz Çelik Bakım ve Temizlik Kimyasalları
kısmındaki Kit 2(031002) Pas Sökücü + Koruyucu + Parlatıcı uygulanması, aynı zamanda ağırlık
algılama plakasının hassas bölgelerinin korozyona karşı korunmasını da artırır.
4.2.Temizlik
Ekipmanınızda kir birikintileri varsa bunlardan kurtulmanız gerekir. Havadan gelen oksijenin
paslanmaz çelikteki krom ile teması koruyucu krom oksit filmi oluşturmasını sağlar. Bu sebeple
yüzeyin temiz olması gerekir.Temiz su ile kapsamlı bir temizlik yapılmalıdır ve pamuklu bir bezle
silinmelidir. Ürünün koruyucu filmine veya estetik kaplamasına zarar verilmemelidir. Kapsamlı bir
temizliğin ardından paslanmaz çeliği birkaç ay boyunca haftada iki kez temiz suyla temizleyin ve
ardından sıklığını azaltın. Temizlemek için asla metal bir fırça, çelik yün, zımpara kağıdı veya
herhangi bir aşındırıcı malzeme kullanmayın.

4.3.Hatırlatma
Haftalık temel temizlik gereklidir.
Yılda 2 kez düzenli olarak kapsamlı temizlik gereklidir.
Temizlik için temiz su kullanılmalıdır.
Paslanmaz çelik parçaları temizlemek için aşındırıcı malzeme kullanılmamalıdır.
Paslanmaz çelik parçaların kurutulması kesinlikle temiz ve kuru bir bezle yapılmalıdır.
Atlama platformunu sökmek için bu işe özel aletler kullanılmalıdır.
Ürünü uzun süre sorunsuz ve şık bir şekilde kullanabilmek için GEMAŞ ürün kataloğunda
bulunan Paslanmaz Çelik Bakım ve Temizlik Kimyasalları kısmındaki Kit 2(031002) Pas Sökücü
+ Koruyucu + Parlatıcı tavsiye edilir.
