Accommodated with different sizes and types of Rotors for the
appropriate tests.
g Force
The measurement for samples undergoing the stress of
acceleration in a centrifuge.
RCF (
((
(Relative Centrifugal Force)
))
)
RCF is the centrifugal force that the samples undergoes which
relies on the speed of rotation (N)in rpm and the rotating radius
(R). The rotating radius is measured from the center axis of
rotor to the extreme end of the centrifuge tubes.
Formula:
::
:RCF = 11.18 x r x ( N / 1000)²
Swing-out Rotors:
::
:
Ideal for cell culturing applications because sediment forms on the
bottom of the tubes.
Fixed-Angle Rotors:
::
:
Ideal for pelleting applications because sediment collects
diagonally in the tube. Higher rotational speeds and higher
g-forces are achieved using fixed-angle rotors.
Round bottom Tubes:
::
:
Have a uniform wall thickness and provides a better fit in a rotor
than conical bottom tubes. Round tubes withstand higher g-forces.
Conical bottom Tubes:

How to use Reading Scale for HCT:
::
:
When Rotor No. F-2415 is used for the Hematocrit test of HCT value,
the following direction is the way to read the scale:
1、Remove the capillary tubes from the rotor head carefully;
Warning: Do not let the blood drain out of the tubes.
2、Place the capillary tubes onto grooves (#1) of tubes holder
carefully;let the extreme end (red blood cells) of capillary tubes
reach the straight line (#3) on right hand of the platform;
3、Move the tubes holder (#2) to the position where the extreme
end of Leucocyte (#9) meets the diagonal line (#4) on platform;
4、Move the sliding bar (#5) to meet the demarcation (#7) place
where separates the Leucocyte and red blood cells;
5、The percentage of HCT is then read directly from the scale (#8)
at upper hand of the reading scale.
NOTE:
::
:
-Use clay to block the end of capillary tube which has mark on it;
-Refer laboratory method of reading scale to licensed medical
personnel.

How to change rotors for Universal Centrifuge
When change rotor to meet your application for Universal Centrifuge,
please refer to the following procedures:
1. Disconnect the power supply to prevent the electrical shock.
2. Find the “L” shape wrench (#1) and loosen counterclockwise the
bolt that connected rotor and motor to remove the rotor.
3. Be sure the brass connector and rotor are in good condition.
4. Mount the new rotor by the reverse way. Do not tilt the new rotor to
ensure the balance of rotor after replacement.
5. The direction of motor spinning and the thread of the bolt is
running at the reverse direction, there is no worry about the loosen
rotor during motor spinning.
6. User is required to wrench the bolt as tighter as possible prior to
the spinning in order to avoid the possible body injury.
CAUTION: The change of rotor is limited to the qualified engineers.
7

How to calibrate Speed Indicator PLC-012, PLC-024
This universal centrifuge was initially calibrated by adjusting the rpm in
house to match the practical rotation. If this adjustment becomes
failed after use by the span of time, recalibrate the speed indicator is
required as depicted below:
1、Turn the switch to ON position.
2、Set speed to 1000 rpm by turning the control knob and measure
the correct rpm of rotor spinning by an electronic digital
tachometer. Then see whether or not the setting variable could
match practical variable. Refer to operation established by the
tachometer manufacturer.
3、Adjust the rpm of speed indicator to match the measured rpm by
turning the screw under the speed indicator until they are
matched exactly. Clockwise turning indicates the increase of
scale of rpm, counterclockwise turning indicates the decrease of
scale of rpm
4、Repeat the above procedures until the practical speed matches
the value on tachometer.
WARNING:
::
:
Take care of the HIGH SPEED when calibrate the speed which may
cause personal injury. GE Y recommend the 2 engineers for speed
calibration, one uses digital tachometer to measure the practical speed
and the other one adjust the speed indicator.
NOTE:
::
:
1、The operation of AC motor is easily affected by its surrounding
power consumption, which will result in a fluctuation of speed.
To assure an accurate rpm and its corresponding RCF, do not
place this equipment in the draft, sunlight or near a piece of
equipment that emits heat as well as Electromagnetic
conduction emission.
2、Users are requested to use a digital tachometer to measure the
practical rpm and calibrate the speed any time when it is
required in order to attain the accurate testing result.
3、Always start the timer from ZERO
4、Always open lid only until the motor has stopped completely.
5、When the maximum speed is operated, remember to keep the
rotor balanced in order to avoid the possible broken tubes.
