GLOBALSTAR GSP-1700 : OVERVIEW

Power the phone on/off
Press and hold the end/power key until phone
screen turns on.
Wait about30 seconds and check yourscreen for
service bars and a red house.
When you see these 2 icons on the screen, your
phone is registered with the Globalstar Satellite
network and you can make a phone call.
Looking for signal
1. Go outside to an area with a clear view of the sky.
Nearby obstructions such as tall buildings, trees or
mountains, can prevent calls.
2. Rotate and fullyextend the antenna, pointing
towards the sky. Turn on your phone bypressing and
holding the end/power key.
***If the symbol, is displayed you are Roaming and
have to use international (+) dialing.***

GETTING STARTED
CORRECT INCORRECT
If one-touch dialing is set to “on”, dial any of the 99
location numbers without pressing the send key.
To one-touch dial a location number
1. Set one-touch dial to “on”
1a. From standby mode, press the left
smart-key button for Menu.
1b. Press for Preferences.
1c. Press for Calling
1d. Press for One-Touch Dial
1e. Press or to select “yes”.
Press again to select “no”.
1f. Press left smart-key button for Ok.

1. Dial the Country code > Area code
For example: 1-866-651-7768
Then press the send key

VIEW TEXT OR VOICE MESSAGES
2. Press and hold the location number.
Indicates signal strength ranging from a strong
signal (four lines) to an extremely weak signal
(one line)
No service available. If service is unavailable,
the phone sounds a beep when you try to make
a call
Roaming – Service is established outside the
home area
Home – Service is established inside the home
area
Notification of a text message (not available in
all markets)
Battery charge. Ranges from four vertical bars
(full charge), to one bar (minimal charge), to no
bars and blinking (no charge)
Indicates that either the selected text message
is locked or the keypad is locked
Notification of a voice mail message
Ringer volume indicator
Ringer silenced
Indicates that encryption is turned on
Designates the menu option currently selected
Indicates that the text message is unlocked
Call in progress
Indicates that you can scroll between screens
using the volume buttons (located on the side
of the phone) or the and keys
