GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING. Read all safety warnings and all
instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions
may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your mains-
operated (corded) power tool or battery operated (cordless)
power tool.
1. WORK AREA SAFETY
a. Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered and dark
areas invite accidents.
b. Do not operate power tools in explosive
atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable
liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which
may ignite the dust or fumes.
c. Keep children and bystanders away while operating
a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
2. ELECTRICAL SAFETY
a. Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify
the plug in any way. Do not use any adaptor plugs
with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs
and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
b. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded
surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric
shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
c. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions.
Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of
electric shock.
d. Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for
carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool.
Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or
moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the
risk of electric shock.
e. When operating a power tool outdoors, use an
extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord
suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
f. If operating a power tool in a damp location is
unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD)
protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of
electric shock.
3. PERSONAL SAFETY
a. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use
common sense when operating a power tool.
Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under
the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment
of inattention while operating power tools may result in
serious personal injury.
b. Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection.
Safety equipment such as dust mask, non-skid
safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for
appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
c. Avoid accidental starting. Ensure the switch is in the
off position before plugging in. Carrying power tools with
your finger on the switch or plugging in power tools that
have the switch on invites accidents.
d. Remove any adjusting key or wrench before
turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left
attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result
in personal injury.
e. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance
at all times. This enables better control of the power tool
in unexpected situations.
f. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or
jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from
moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be
caught in moving parts.
g. If devices are provided for the connection of dust
extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are
connected and properly used. Use of these devices
can reduce dust related hazards.
4. POWER TOOL USE AND CARE
a. Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool
for your application. The correct power tool will do the job
better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.

b. Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn
it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled
with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
c. Disconnect the plug from the power source before
making any adjustments, changing accessories, or
storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures
reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
d. Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and
do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool
or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power
tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e. Always unplug your power tool when leaving
unattended. Such preventative safety measures
reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally
by untrained users.
f. Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or
binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and
any other condition that may affect the power tools
operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired
before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly
maintained power tools.
g. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly
maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are
less likely to bind and are easier to control.
h. Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc.,
in accordance with these instructions and in the
manner intended for the particular type of power
tool, taking into account the working conditions and
the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for
operations different from those intended could result in
a hazardous situation.
5. SERVICE
a. Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair
person using only identical replacement parts.
This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
Additional safety rules for sanders
Remove the plug from the socket before carrying out any
adjustment, servicing or maintenance.
• Fully unwind cable drum extensions to avoid
potential overheating.
• When an extension cable is required, you must ensure it
has the right ampere rating for your power tool and is in a
safe electrical condition.
• Ensure your mains supply voltage is the same as your
tool rating plate voltage.
• Your tool is double insulated for additional protection
against a possible electrical insulation failure within the tool.
• Always check walls, floors and ceilings to avoid hidden
power cables and pipes.
• After long working periods external metal parts and
accessories could be hot.
• Do not force the sander; let the tool do the work at a
reasonable speed. Overloading will occur if too much
pressure is applied and the motor slows resulting in
inefficient sanding and possible damage to the
sander motor.
• When sanding wood, always connect the dust
extraction filter.
• Take special care to guard against harmful and toxic
dusts when sanding lead-based painted surfaces, woods
and metals, including the following:
- All persons entering the work area must wear
a mask specially designed for protection against
toxic dust and fumes such as those arising from
the sanding of lead paint .
- Children and pregnant women must not enter
the work area.
- Do not eat, drink or smoke in the work area.
• Before using the sander with metal always remove the
extraction filter from the outlet as sparks may ignite the
dust or the internal bag.
• Do not continue to use worn, torn or heavily clogged
sanding sheets.

• Do not touch the moving sanding sheet.
• Ensure that you have removed foreign objects such
as nails and screws from the work before
commencing sanding.
• Rags, cloths, cord, string and the like should never be left
around the work area.

Unpacking
Due to modern mass production techniques, it is unlikely
that your GMC Power Tool is faulty or that a part is missing.
If you find anything wrong, do not operate the tool until the
parts have been replaced or the fault has been rectified.
Failure to do so could result in serious personal injury.

Switching on and off
1. Connect the plug to the power supply.
2. Push the on/off switch (4) forward to start the motor.
3. Pull the on/off switch (4) back to stop the motor.
4. Hold the tool securely and make sure that you have full
control at all times.
Changing the base
WARNING. Always ensure that the tool is switched
off and the plug is removed from the power point before
making any adjustments or maintenance procedures.
There are two interchangeable bases: a 150mm base
(3) fitted to the tool on purchase and a 125mm base (10)
supplied with the tool as an accessory.
1. Turn the sander upside down
and remove the four hex
screws using the hex key (9)
provided. Take off the base
assembly.
2. Place the replacement base
assembly on the tool and
secure it with the 4 hex
screws using the hex key (9)
supplied.
Fitting a sanding sheet
WARNING. Always ensure that the tool is switched
off and the plug is removed from the power point before
making any adjustments or maintenance procedures.
1. Before fitting sandpaper, remove any dust or debris from
the base.
2. Match the holes in a suitable
sheet with the holes in the
base.
3. Simply press the sheet to the
base to attach it.
4. To remove the sheet, peel it
away from the base.
Tip. To maximise the life of the
hook and loop base peel the
paper off slowly rather than rapidly removing it to avoid
damage to the hook and loop system.
CAUTION. Take care to regularly clean out the build up of
dust on the base underneath the sandpaper and not to let
the sandpaper wear completely down before replacing it.
Failure to observe these two precautionary measures can
lead to damage to the hooks and loops on the platen and
the sandpaper will not attach properly.
WARNING. Never use the sander unless the entire base is
fitted with sandpaper or another type of pad.
Using the sander
1. Grip the main handle (6) in one hand and push down on
the auxiliary handle (1) with the other hand. Take care to
hold the sanding surface parallel to the work.
2. Do not press down heavily. This will slow down the motor
and could damage it.
3. Let the sandpaper do the work.
4. Take care that the whole base is resting on the workpiece
when you switch on the sander. After switching off, keep
the base on the sander until the motor stops.
WARNING. Do not use the sander in wet or damp
conditions.
The manufacturer recommends the use of a residual current
device with a tripping current of 30mA or less.

Adjusting the speed
The speed can be adjusted to
suit the material being sanded.
To adjust the speed, move the
variable speed control (5) until
you are satisfied that the speed
is what you need for the job in
hand.
Adjusting the auxiliary
handle
The sander has two handles, the main handle (6) with
rubber grip and the auxiliary handle (1) which can be
adjusted to suit the operator’s needs.
1. To adjust the auxiliary handle
(1) loosen the auxiliary handle
lock (2) enough so that you
can easily move the handle
into the desired position.
2. Re-tighten the auxiliary handle
lock (2).
Selecting the right grade of sandpaper
• Different grades of sanding paper can be purchased from
your local hardware store. Available grades are: Coarse,
Medium and Fine.
• Use a coarse grit to sand down rough finishes, medium
grit to smooth the work and fine grit to finish off.
• It is best to make a trial run on a scrap piece of material
to determine the optimum grades of sandpaper for
a particular job. If there are still marks on your work
after sanding, try either going back to a coarser grade
and sanding the marks out before recommencing with
the original choice of grit, or try using a new piece of
sandpaper to eliminate the unwanted marks before going
on to a finer grit and finishing the job.
WARNING. Always ensure that the tool is switched
off and the plug is removed from the power point before
making any adjustments or maintenance procedures.
Dust extraction
WARNING. Always ensure that the tool is switched
off and the plug is removed from the power point before
making any adjustments or maintenance procedures.
1. Attach the dust canister (7)
to the dust extraction port (8)
of the sander by pushing and
twisting the bayonet fitting.
WARNING. For optimum dust
extraction, remove and empty
the canister (7) when it is no
more than half full.
2. Remove the cap from the end
of the canister (7) to access the internal dust bag (12)
when you wish to replace or clean the bag. The bag (12)
can be washed. Make sure the bag is completely dry
before replacing it.
3. The dust extraction adaptor piece (11) can be fitted into
the dust extraction port (8) in place of the dust canister
(7).

GB 4. The sander can then be connected to a household
vacuum cleaner or workshop dust extraction system.
Maintenance
WARNING. Always ensure that the tool is switched
off and the plug is removed from the power point before
making any adjustments or maintenance procedures.
1. Keep the tool’s air vents unclogged and clean at
all times.
2. Regularly check to see if any dust or foreign matter has
entered the grills near the motor and around the
on/off switch. Use a soft brush to remove any
accumulated dust. Wear safety glasses to protect
your eyes whilst cleaning.
3. If the body of the tool needs cleaning, wipe it with a soft
damp cloth. A mild detergent can be used but nothing like
alcohol, petrol or other cleaning agent.
4. Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts.
CAUTION. Water must never come into contact with
the tool.
General inspection
Regularly check that all the fixing screws are tight. They
may vibrate loose over time.
Replacing the carbon brushes
1. To access a carbon brush, first prise open a side clip (9)
using a flat screwdriver then removing the clip.
2. Use a small flat screwdriver to unscrew the brush cap
and remove the carbon brush assembly.
3. Insert the new brush assembly
and replace the brush cap,
tightening it with a screwdriver.
Replace the side clip (9).
4. Repeat the operation for the
second brush on the other
side of the tool.
Note. After replacing the
brushes, you may notice
sparking and a burning smell when the tool is first used.
This is not a hazard. The excessive sparking and the
burning smell will both soon subside as the new brushes
bed in.
Power cord maintenance
If the supply cord needs replacing, the task must be carried
out by the manufacturer, the manufacturer’s agent, or a
power tool repair centre in order to avoid a
safety hazard.

Algemene veiligheidsregels
WAARSCHUWING. Lees alle instructies door. Het niet
opvolgen van alle instructies die hieronder vermeld staan,
kan resulteren in een elektrische schok, brand en/of
ernstig letsel. De term “elektrisch gereedschap” in alle
hieronder vermelde waarschuwingen heeft betrekking op
uw op de stroom aangesloten (met een snoer) elektrische
gereedschap of uw met een accu (snoerloos) bediende
elektrische gereedschap.
Bewaar deze instructies
1. Werkgebied
a. Houd het werkgebied schoon en zorg voor een goede
verlichting. Rommelige en donkere ruimtes leiden vaak
tot ongelukken.
b. Werk niet met elektrisch gereedschap in explosieve
omgevingen, zoals bijvoorbeeld in de aanwezigheid
van ontvlambare vloeistoffen, gassen of stof. Elektrisch
gereedschap brengt vonken teweeg die stof of dampen
kunnen doen ontbranden.
c. Houd kinderen en omstanders uit de buurt wanneer u
elektrisch gereedschap bedient. Door afleiding kunt u
de controle over het gereedschap verliezen.
2. Veiligheid met betrekking tot elektriciteit
a. De stekkers van het elektrische gereedschap
moeten passen bij het stopcontact. U mag op geen
enkele manier de stekker aanpassen. Gebruik geen
adapterstekkers bij geaard elektrisch gereedschap. Het
gebruikmaken van ongewijzigde stekkers en bijpassende
stopcontacten vermindert het risico op een elektrische
schok.
b. Vermijd lichamelijk contact met geaarde
oppervlakken zoals pijpen, radiatoren, fornuizen en
koelkasten. Het risico op een elektrische schok neemt
toe als uw lichaam geaard wordt.
c. Laat elektrisch gereedschap niet nat worden.
Wanneer elektrisch gereedschap nat wordt, neemt het
risico op een elektrische schok toe.
d. Beschadig het snoer niet. Gebruik het snoer nooit
om te dragen, te trekken of om de stekker uit het
stopcontact te trekken. Houd het snoer verwijderd van
hitte, olie, scherpe randen of bewegende delen. Door
beschadigde of in de knoop geraakte snoeren neemt het
risico op een elektrische schok toe.
e. Wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap buiten gebruikt,
maak dan gebruik van een verlengsnoer dat geschikt
is voor gebruik buitenshuis. Het gebruik van een snoer
dat geschikt is voor gebruik buitenshuis vermindert het
risico op een elektrische schok.
3. Persoonlijke veiligheid
a. Blijf alert, houd uw aandacht gericht op wat u aan
het doen bent en gebruik uw gezonde verstand
wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap bedient. Gebruik
het elektrisch gereedschap niet wanneer u vermoeid bent
of onder invloed van drugs, alcohol of medicijnen. Eén
moment van onoplettendheid tijdens het bedienen van
elektrisch gereedschap kan leiden tot ernstig persoonlijk
letsel.
b. Maak gebruik van veiligheidsmateriaal. Draag altijd
oogbescherming. Veiligheidsmateriaal dat onder
de juiste omstandigheden gebruikt wordt, zoals een
stofmasker, niet-slippend veiligheidsschoeisel, een helm
of oorbescherming, vermindert persoonlijk letsel.
c. Zorg ervoor dat het apparaat niet per ongeluk wordt
gestart. Kijk of de schakelaar in de uit-stand staat
voordat u de stekker in het stopcontact steekt. Het
dragen van elektrisch gereedschap met uw vinger op de
schakelaar of het aansluiten op de stroom van elektrisch
gereedschap met de schakelaar ingeschakeld kan tot
ongelukken leiden.
d. Verwijder alle stel- of moersleutels voordat u het
elektrische gereedschap inschakelt. Een moer- of
stelsleutel die zich op een draaiend onderdeel van
het elektrische gereedschap bevindt, kan leiden tot
persoonlijk letsel.
e. Reik niet te ver. Blijf altijd stevig en in balans staan. Zo
houdt u meer controle over het elektrische gereedschap
in onverwachte situaties.
f. Draag geschikte kleding. Draag geen loshangende
kleding of sieraden. Houd uw haar, kleding en

handschoenen weg van bewegende delen. Loshangende
kleding, sieraden of lang haar kunnen in bewegende
delen terechtkomen.
g. Als er onderdelen voor stofafvoer- en
stofverzameling worden meegeleverd, sluit deze dan
aan en gebruik deze op de juiste wijze. Het gebruik
van deze onderdelen kan het risico op stofgerelateerde
ongelukken verminderen.
4. Gebruik en verzorging van elektrisch gereedschap
a. Forceer elektrisch gereedschap niet. Gebruik
elektrisch gereedschap dat geschikt is voor het werk dat
u wilt uitvoeren. Geschikt elektrisch gereedschap werkt
beter en veiliger op een passende snelheid.
b. Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap niet als de
schakelaar het apparaat niet in- en uitschakelt. Elk
elektrisch gereedschap dat niet bediend kan worden met
de schakelaar is gevaarlijk en moet gerepareerd worden.
c. Haal de stekker uit het stopcontact voordat u
instellingen aanpast, accessoires verandert of
het elektrische gereedschap opbergt. Dergelijke
voorzorgsmaatregelen verminderen het risico op het per
ongeluk starten van het elektrische gereedschap.
d. Berg elektrisch gereedschap dat niet in gebruik is
op buiten bereik van kinderen en laat mensen die
niet bekend zijn met het elektrische gereedschap of
met deze instructies het elektrische gereedschap
niet bedienen. Elektrisch gereedschap is gevaarlijk in de
handen van onervaren gebruikers.
e. Haal altijd de stekker van het elektrisch gereedschap
uit het stopcontact indien u dit onbeheerd achterlaat.
Dergelijke preventieve veiligheidsmaatregelen
verminderen het risico op het per ongeluk starten van het
elektrische gereedschap door ongeoefende gebruikers.
f. Onderhoud uw elektrisch gereedschap. Controleer op
foutieve uitlijning of het vastslaan van bewegende
delen, gebroken onderdelen en elke andere afwijking
die de werking van het elektrische gereedschap
zou kunnen beïnvloeden. Indien het elektrische
gereedschap beschadigd is, moet u het laten repareren
voordat u het weer gebruikt. Veel ongelukken worden
veroorzaakt door slecht onderhouden elektrisch
gereedschap.
g. Houd snijwerktuigen scherp en schoon. Goed
onderhouden scherp snijdende snijwerktuigen slaan
minder snel vast en zijn gemakkelijker te bedienen.
h. Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap, de accessoires
en onderdelen, etc. volgens deze instructies en
zoals is bedoeld voor elk specifiek type elektrisch
gereedschap, en houd daarbij rekening met
de werkomstandigheden en het uit te voeren
werk. Gebruik van elektrisch gereedschap voor
werkzaamheden die verschillen van die waarvoor het
apparaat bestemd is, kan leiden tot een gevaarlijke
situatie.
5. Onderhoud
a. Laat uw elektrische gereedschap onderhouden
door een gekwalificeerde vakman en gebruik alleen
identieke vervangende onderdelen. Zo bent u er zeker
van dat de veiligheid van het elektrische gereedschap
gewaarborgd blijft.
Bijkomende veiligheidsregels voor
schuurmachines
Verwijder de stekker uit het stopcontact voordat u
aanpassingen of onderhoud verricht.
• Rol verlengsnoeren op een kabelhaspel volledig uit om
mogelijke oververhitting te voorkomen.
• Indien u een verlengsnoer nodig hebt, dient u ervoor te
zorgen dat het de juiste ampère heeft voor uw elektrische
gereedschap en in goede staat is.
• Controleer of het voltage van de stroom gelijk is aan het
voltage dat op het gegevensplaatje van uw gereedschap
vermeld staat.
• Uw gereedschap is dubbel geïsoleerd voor
extra bescherming tegen een mogelijk elektrisch
isolatieprobleem binnenin het gereedschap.
• Controleer muren, vloeren en plafonds altijd op verborgen
stroomkabels en pijpwerk.
• Na langdurig gebruik kunnen accessoires en metalen

delen aan de buitenkant heet zijn.
• Forceer de schuurmachine niet; laat het gereedschap
het werk doen op een redelijke snelheid. Er ontstaat
overbelasting als u teveel druk uitoefent en de motor
draait langzamer wat resulteert in minder efficiënt
schuren en mogelijke schade aan de motor van de
schuurmachine.
• Wanneer u hout schuurt, dient u altijd het stofafvoerfilter
te bevestigen.
• Bescherm u vooral goed tegen schadelijke en giftige
stoffen wanneer u oppervlakken, hout en metaal schuurt
dat is geverfd met loodhoudende verf, en let ook op het
volgende:
• Alle personen die de werkruimte binnenkomen, moeten
een masker dragen dat speciaal bestemd is voor
bescherming tegen giftige stof en dampen zoals die
voortkomen uit het schuren van loodhoudende verf.
• Kinderen en zwangere vrouwen mogen het werkgebied
niet binnengaan.
• U mag niet eten, drinken of roken in het werkgebied.
• Voordat u de schuurmachine op metaal gebruikt, dient
u eerst de afvoerfilter van de afvoer te verwijderen,
omdat vonken het stof of de interne zak kunnen doen
ontbranden.
• Blijf versleten, gescheurde of zwaar dichtgeslibde
schuurbanden niet gebruiken.
• Raak een bewegende schuurband niet aan.
• Zorg ervoor dat u vreemde objecten zoals spijkers en
schroeven uit het werk hebt verwijderd voordat u begint
met schuren.
• Lappen, kleden, snoeren, koorden en dergelijke mogen
nooit in het werkgebied rondslingeren.

Uitpakken
Vanwege de moderne massaproductietechnieken is het niet
waarschijnlijk dat uw GMC-gereedschap gebreken vertoont
of dat er een onderdeel ontbreekt. Als u ziet dat er iets
niet in orde is, gebruik het gereedschap dan niet totdat de
onderdelen vervangen zijn of het defect is hersteld. Indien u
dit niet doet, kan dit leiden tot ernstig persoonlijk letsel.

Aan- en uitschakelen
1. Steek de stekker in het stopcontact.
2. Druk de aan/uit-schakelaar (4) naar voren om de motor
te starten.
3. Trek de aan/uit-schakelaar (4) naar achteren om de
motor te stoppen.
4. Houd het gereedschap goed vast en zorg ervoor dat u
de machine steeds onder controle hebt.
De zool verwisselen
WAARSCHUWING. Zorg er altijd voor dat het gereedschap
is uitgeschakeld en dat de stekker uit het stopcontact is
gehaald voordat u instellings- of onderhoudprocedures
uitvoert.
Er zijn twee verwisselbare zolen: een zool van 150 mm
(3) die bij aankoop op het gereedschap is gemonteerd en
een zool van 125 mm (10) die met het gereedschap is
meegeleverd als accessoire.
1. Draai de schuurmachine
ondersteboven en verwijder
de vier zeskantige schroeven
met de meegeleverde
zeskantige sleutel (9). Neem
de zool van de machine af.
2. Plaats de vervangende zool
op het gereedschap en zet
hem met behulp van de
meegeleverde zeskantige
sleutel (9) vast met de 4 zeskantige schroeven.
Schuurpapier bevestigen
WAARSCHUWING. Zorg er altijd voor dat het gereedschap
is uitgeschakeld en dat de stekker uit het stopcontact is
gehaald voordat u instellings- of onderhoudprocedures
uitvoert.
1. Voordat u schuurpapier bevestigt, dient u eerst eventueel
vuil van de zool te halen.
2. Leg de gaten van een
passend vel op de gaten in
de zool.
3. U hoeft nu alleen het vel op
de zool te drukken om het te
bevestigen.
4. U kunt het vel verwijderen
door het van de zool af te
trekken.
Tip. Om de levensduur van het klittenband te
maximaliseren kunt u het schuurpapier er beter langzaam
aftrekken dan snel, zodat het klittenbandsysteem niet
beschadigd wordt.
LET OP. Zorg ervoor het opgehoopte stof op de zool
onder het schuurpapier regelmatig te verwijderen en
het schuurpapier niet volledig af te slijten voordat u het
vervangt. Als u deze twee voorzorgsmaatregelen niet
neemt, kan dit leiden tot schade aan het klittenband op de
plaat, waardoor het schuurpapier niet meer goed vast blijft
zitten.
WAARSCHUWING. Gebruik de schuurmachine alleen als
de hele zool bedekt is met schuurpapier of een andere
afdekking.
De schuurmachine gebruiken
1. Neem de hoofdhandgreep (6) in één hand en duw de
hulphandgreep (1) naar beneden met de andere hand.
Let goed op dat u de schuurmachine parallel aan uw
werk houdt.
2. Oefen niet teveel druk uit. De motor gaat dan langzamer
lopen en kan beschadigd raken.
3. Laat het schuurpapier het werk doen.

4. Zorg ervoor dat de hele zool op het werkstuk rust
wanneer u de schuurmachine inschakelt. Houd de
zool op het werkstuk nadat u de schuurmachine hebt
uitgeschakeld tot de motor stopt.
WAARSCHUWING. Gebruik de schuurmachine niet in natte
of vochtige omstandigheden.
De fabrikant raadt het gebruik van een reststroomapparaat
met een afschakelaar van 30 mA of minder.
De snelheid instellen
U kunt de snelheid aanpassen
aan het materiaal dat wordt
geschuurd.
Om de snelheid in te stellen,
beweegt u de variabele
snelheidscontroleknop (5) tot u
de gewenste snelheid voor uw
werkstuk hebt gevonden.
De hulphandgreep instellen
De schuurmachine heeft twee handgrepen, de
hoofdhandgreep (6) met een rubberen greep, en de
hulphandgreep (1) die kan worden ingesteld zoals u wenst.
1. Om de hulphandgreep (1)
in te stellen, maakt u de
vergrendeling (2) van de
hulphandgreep zover los dat
u de handgreep gemakkelijk
in de gewenste positie kunt
zetten.
2. Zet de vergrendeling (2) van
de hulphandgreep weer vast.
De juiste kwaliteit schuurpapier kiezen
• U kunt verschillende kwaliteiten schuurpapier kopen bij
uw plaatselijke leverancier. Beschikbare kwaliteiten zijn:
grof, medium en fijn.
• Gebruik grove grit om ruwe oppervlakken af te schuren,
medium om het werk glad te maken en fijne grit voor de
uiteindelijke afwerking.
• U kunt het beste testen op een stuk afval van het
materiaal om te bepalen welke kwaliteit schuurpapier het
beste is voor een bepaald werkstuk. Als er nog steeds
oneffenheden in uw werkstuk zitten na het schuren, ga
dan eerst terug naar een grovere kwaliteit en probeer
de oneffenheden weg te schuren voordat u met uw
oorspronkelijk geselecteerde kwaliteit grit begint, of
probeer met een nieuw stuk schuurpapier de ongewenste
oneffenheden weg te halen voordat u overgaat naar een
fijnere grit om het werk af te maken.
WAARSCHUWING. Zorg er altijd voor dat het gereedschap
is uitgeschakeld en dat de stekker uit het stopcontact is
gehaald voordat u instellings- of onderhoudprocedures
uitvoert.
Stofafvoer
WAARSCHUWING. Zorg er altijd voor dat het gereedschap
is uitgeschakeld en dat de stekker uit het stopcontact is
gehaald voordat u instellings- of onderhoudprocedures
uitvoert.
1. Bevestig de stofopvang (7)
aan de stofafvoerdoorgang (8)
van de schuurmachine door
de bajonetsluiting te duwen en
te draaien.
WAARSCHUWING. Voor een
optimale stofafvoer dient u de
stofopvang (7) te verwijderen en
te legen als deze nog maar half
vol is.
2. Verwijder de kap van het uiteinde van de opvang (7) om
bij de interne stofzak (12) te kunnen komen als u de zak
wilt terugplaatsen of reinigen. De zak (12) kan worden

gewassen. Zorg ervoor dat de zak volledig droog is
voordat u hem terugplaatst.
3. De stofafvoeradapter (11) kan gemonteerd worden in de
stofafvoerdoorgang (8) in plaats van de stofopvang (7).
4. De schuurmachine kan dan verbonden worden
met een huishoudstofzuiger of een professioneel
stofafzuigingsysteem.
Onderhoud
WAARSCHUWING. Zorg er altijd voor dat het gereedschap
is uitgeschakeld en dat de stekker uit het stopcontact is
gehaald voordat u instellings- of onderhoudprocedures
uitvoert.
1. Houd de ventilatieopeningen van het gereedschap altijd
schoon en open.
2. Controleer regelmatig om te zien of er stof of ander
ongewenst materiaal in de roosters bij de motor en
rondom de aan/uit-schakelaar zit. Gebruik een zachte
borstel om eventueel opgehoopt stof te verwijderen.
Draag tijdens het schoonmaken een veiligheidsbril om uw
ogen te beschermen.
3. Als de behuizing van het gereedschap schoongemaakt
moet worden, neem deze dan af met een zachte,
vochtige doek. U mag een mild reinigingsmiddel
gebruiken, maar geen stoffen als alcohol, benzine of
andere reinigingsmiddelen.
4. Gebruik nooit bijtende middelen om plastic onderdelen te
reinigen.
LET OP. Het gereedschap mag nooit in contact komen met
water.
Algemene controle
Controleer regelmatig of alle bevestigingsschroeven nog
goed vast zitten. Door vibratie kunnen ze na enige tijd los
gaan zitten.
De koolborstels vervangen
1. Om bij de koolborstel te kunnen komen, wrikt u één van
de zijklemmen (9) open met een platte schroevendraaier.
Daarna verwijdert u de klem.
2. Schroef de borstelkap met een kleine, platte
schroevendraaier open en verwijder de koolborstel.
3. Plaats de nieuwe koolborstel,
zet de borstelkap terug
en zet deze vast met een
schroevendraaier. Plaats de
zijklem (9) terug.
4. Herhaal deze handelingen
voor de tweede borstel aan
de andere kant van het
gereedschap.
Opmerking. Nadat u de borstels hebt vervangen, kan het
zijn dat u wat vonken ziet en een brandlucht ruikt wanneer
