WARNING: Always wear ear protection where the sound level exceeds 85dB(A)
and limit the time of exposure if necessary. If sound levels are uncomfortable,
even with ear protection, stop using the tool immediately and check the ear
protection is correctly tted and provides the correct level of sound attenuation
for the level of sound produced by your tool.
WARNING: User exposure to tool vibration can result in loss of sense of touch,
numbness, tingling and reduced ability to grip. Long term exposure can lead to a
chronic condition. If necessary, limit the length of time exposed to vibration and
use anti-vibration gloves. Do not operate the tool with hands below a normal
comfortable temperature, as vibration will have a greater effect. Use the gures
provided in the specication relating to vibration to calculate the duration and
frequency of operating the tool.
Sound and vibration levels in the specication are determined according to
EN60745 or similar international standards. The gures represent normal
use for the tool in normal working conditions. A poorly maintained, incorrectly
assembled, or misused tool, may produce increased levels of noise and
vibration. www.osha.europa.eu provides information on sound and vibration
levels in the workplace that may be useful to domestic users who use tools for
long periods of time.
General Safety
WARNING Read all safety warnings and all instructions.
Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock,
fire and/or serious injury.
WARNING: This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with reduced, physical or mental capabilities or lack of
experience or knowledge unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible
for their safety. Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play
with the appliance.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded)
power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
1) Work area safety
a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite
accidents.
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres,
such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power
tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool.
Distractions can cause you to lose control.
2) Electrical safety
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in
any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded)
power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of
electric shock.
b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as
pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators.
There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or
grounded.

c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions.
Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or
unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp
edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk
of electric shock.
e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord
suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces
the risk of electric shock.
f) If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use
a residual current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD
reduces the risk of electric shock.
3) Personal safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when
operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired
or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment
of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal
injury.
b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection.
Protective equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat,
or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal
injuries.
c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-
position before connecting to power source and/or battery pack,
picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger
on the switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites
accidents.
d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool
on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool
may result in personal injury.
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This
enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your
hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes,
jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and
collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used.
Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.
4) Power tool use and care
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your
application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the
rate for which it was designed.
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off.
Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and
must be repaired.
c) Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack
from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing
accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures
reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow
persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to
operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of
untrained users.
e) Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving
parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the
power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired
before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power
tools.
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools
with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance
with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions
and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations
different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
WARNING: When used in Australia or New Zealand, it is recommended
that this tool is ALWAYS supplied via Residual Current Device (RCD) with
a rated residual current of 30mA or less.
5) Service
a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using
only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the
power tool is maintained.

Sanding Tool Safety
WARNING: Hold the power tool by insulated handles or gripping surfaces
only, because the sanding belt/sheet may contact its own cord. Cutting a "live"
wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool ‘live’ and could give the
operator an electric shock.
WARNING: Use clamps or another practical way to secure the workpiece to a
stable platform. Holding the workpiece by hand or against the body makes it
unstable and may lead to loss of control.
a. ALWAYS wear appropriate protective equipment, including a dust mask with
a minimum FFP2 rating, eye protection and ear defenders
b. Ensure all people in the vicinity of the work area are also equipped with
suitable personal protective equipment
c. Take special care when sanding some woods (such as beech, oak,
mahogany and teak), as the dust produced is toxic and can cause extreme
reactions
d. NEVER use to process any materials containing asbestos. Consult a
qualied professional, if you are uncertain whether an object contains
asbestos
e. DO NOT sand magnesium or alloys containing a high percentage of
magnesium
f. Be aware of paint nishes or treatments that may have been applied to the
material that is being sanded. Many treatments can create dust that is toxic,
or otherwise harmful. If working on a building constructed prior to 1960, there
is an increased chance of encountering lead-based paints
g. The dust produced when sanding lead-based paints is particularly hazardous
to children, pregnant women, and people with high blood pressure. DO
NOT allow these people near to the work area, even if wearing appropriate
personal protective equipment
h. Whenever possible, use a vacuum dust extraction system to control dust and
waste
i. Be especially careful when using a machine for both wood and metal
sanding. Sparks from metal can easily ignite wood dust. ALWAYS clean your
machine thoroughly to reduce the risk of re
j. Empty the dust bag or container (where applicable) frequently during
use, before taking breaks and after completion of sanding. Dust may
be an explosion hazard. DO NOT throw sanding dust into an open re.
Spontaneous combustion may occur when oil or water particles come into
contact with dust particles. Dispose of waste materials carefully and in
accordance with local laws and regulations.
k. Work surfaces and sandpaper can become very hot during use. If there is
evidence of burning (smoke or ash), from the work surface, stop and allow
the material to cool. DO NOT touch work surface or sandpaper until they
have had time to cool
l. DO NOT touch the moving sandpaper
m. ALWAYS switch off before you put the sander down
n. DO NOT use for wet sanding. Liquids entering the motor housing can cause
severe electric shocks
o. ALWAYS unplug the sander from the mains power supply before changing or
replacing sandpaper
p. Even when this tool is used as prescribed it is not possible to eliminate all
residual risk factors. If you are in any doubt as to safe use of this tool, do not
use it
Additional safety for burnisher drum sanders
• Reset the guard if the work angle or the position of the person operating
the machine changes. Seek professional guidance if you are unsure how to
operate the guards or any other safety features of the machine correctly
• The maximum speed of the cutting/grinding disc or other accessory must
always be higher than the maximum speed of the machine on which they are
mounted
• Do not use any form of spacers or adapters in an attempt to make an
incorrectly sized disc t your machine
• Ensure the cutting/grinding disc or accessory is tted correctly and securely
before use. Run the machine with the disc or accessory tted, but without
load, for a reasonable time before attempting to cut/grind. If excessive
vibration occurs, stop the machine, investigate and correct the cause before
use. Seek professional guidance if you are in doubt about how to operate the
machine safely
• All discs and accessories must be checked before installation. If a disc is
damaged in any way, by being chipped, fractured, warped or misshapen, DO
NOT USE AND DISCARD. If you are unsure about whether a disc is safe to
operate, DO NOT USE AND DISCARD
• Do not allow discs to become wet or contaminated with oil. If you suspect
that a disc has degraded in storage, or if you are unsure about whether its
expiry date has passed, DO NOT USE AND DISCARD
• Do not attempt to cut or grind magnesium or any alloy that has high
magnesium content
• Hold the machine appropriately to ensure that debris produced does not land
on skin or clothing
• Do not operate the spindle lock while the sander is running
• Discs will continue to rotate for some time after the machine has been
switched off. Allow the moving parts to stop completely without interference.
Do not try to stop the machine by holding an object against the disc. NEVER
place the sander down until the disc has completely stopped moving
• A sanding wheel or disc will gradually wear down during use, reducing its
size. If a wheel or disc becomes too small to work with easily, stop using it
and replace it with a new disc

Intended Use
• Mains powered portable hand tool for dry sanding, polishing, die-polishing
and abrasion of at, curved and shaped surfaces using a range of
replaceable sanding and polishing drums. Suitable for various metals, woods
and other materials.
Unpacking Your Tool
• Carefully unpack and inspect your new sander. Familiarise yourself with all
its features and functions
• Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If any
parts are missing or damaged, have such parts replaced before attempting
to use this tool
Before Use
WARNING: Ensure the tool is disconnected from the power supply before
attaching or changing any accessories, or making any adjustments.
Fitting the front handle
• The Front Handle (13) must be tted to the machine before use:
1. Screw the Front Handle to either the Left Side Handle Thread (12) or the
Right Side Handle Thread (16) to suit the task at hand and operator
2. Angle the Front Handle to the required position
3. Ensure the Grip of the Front Handle is tightly screwed in without over-
tightening
Fitting and removing the sanding drum
IMPORTANT: The Sanding Drum (15) or other accessory must be securely
tted before use.
IMPORTANT: Always check the condition before tting and do not t if damaged
or heavily worn beyond normal use.
1. Remove the existing drum or accessory by pressing and holding the Spindle
Lock Button (11) with one hand
2. Remove the washer and bolt (see Image II), by unscrewing the bolt anti-
clockwise using the supplied spanner. It will freely rotate until the spindle lock
engages, and then it will unscrew
3. Slide off the existing drum or accessory and catch the two drum pins that fall
from the Drum Spindle
4. Slide the new drum or accessory over the Drum Spindle (10). Insert BOTH
drum pins as seen in Image I to secure
5. Press the Spindle Lock Button and re-t the washer and bolt (see Image II)
Fitting a sanding belt to the sanding belt drum
1. Visually check the sanding belt for damage or tears
2. Check to see if there is a rotation direction indicated on the inside of the
sanding belt and match it to the Rotation Direction Indicator (14) marked on
the tool
3. Slide the sanding belt over the Sanding Belt Drum (17)
4. Check the belt is secure on the drum before use
Adjusting the guard
• The Guard (1) must be adjusted so that it is situated between the drum
and the operator. Reset the Guard if the work angle or the position of the
operator changes. Seek professional guidance if you are unsure how to
operate the guards or any other safety features of the machine correctly
• The Guard can be moved through a range of 360°, so that it can be placed
between the drum and the operator at any required work angle
• Loosen the Guard Securing Bolt (8), reposition as required and re-tighten the
Guard Securing Bolt
Operation
WARNING: ALWAYS wear eye protection, adequate respiratory and hearing
protection, as well as suitable gloves, when working with this tool.
WARNING: Using the steel wire brush drum with steel and other ferrite metals
may cause sparks, which may ignite ammable gas or ammable material, for
example paper, wood dust and metal swarf. Ensure the work area is free of such
materials and ensure there is a suitable extinguisher to hand.
IMPORTANT: Ensure the Motor Vents (6) are kept clean during use. Metal swarf
and wood dust entering the tool can damage or destroy it.
IMPORTANT: Stop frequently while operating to clean the work area and
prevent a build-up of swarf and dust. Where possible have a dust extraction
system operating around the work area.
Switching on and off
Note: DO NOT switch the machine on or off when the sanding drum is in
contact with the workpiece. ALWAYS allow the motor to reach its full speed
before applying load, and to stop completely before placing the sander down.
ALWAYS hold the machine securely, using both hands, on the handles provided
• To switch the machine on, grip the Rear Handle (4) and Front Handle (13)
rmly and depress the On/Off Trigger Switch (5)
• To stop the machine release the On/Off Trigger Switch
• The tool can be locked into the ‘On’ position using the Lock-On Button (3).
Depress the On/Off Trigger Switch then press in the Lock-On Button (3)
to engage. To switch off, release by depressing and releasing the On/Off
Trigger Switch
Adjusting the tool speed
• The speed of the machine is controlled using the Variable Speed Control (2):
a higher number indicates a higher speed setting
WARNING: Always set the speed control dial to the correct speed for the task
at hand.
WARNING: Never exceed the maximum speed of the installed sanding drum
or accessory.
Polishing tips
IMPORTANT: To achieve a perfectly smooth polished surface do not skip more
than one grit size when switching from a coarse grit to a ne grit.
• Ensure the area to be polished is clean and dry

• Choose only polishing compounds that are compatible with the material that
requires polishing, and with the method of application. Read and understand
all information supplied with your polishing compound before use
• When the entire surface has been covered, stop the machine and allow the
compound to dry (follow manufacturer’s guidance)
Sanding tips
WARNING: NEVER use this machine for wet sanding.
WARNING: ALWAYS use adequate respiratory protection when sanding.
• Allow the machine to reach the required speed before bringing the sanding
paper into contact with the workpiece
• Start with a coarse grit paper, and work through progressively ner grit
papers until the desired nish is achieved
• Apply only moderate pressure to the sander. Pressing too hard onto the work
surface may overheat the motor or damage the work surface
• Sand evenly over the work surface.

Maintenance
WARNING: ALWAYS disconnect from the power supply before carrying out any
inspection, maintenance or cleaning.
General inspection
• Regularly check that all the xing screws are tight
• Inspect the supply cord of the tool, prior to each use, for damage or wear.
Repairs should be carried out by an authorised Silverline service centre. This
advice also applies to extension cords used with this tool
Cleaning
• Keep your tool clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to
wear quickly, and shorten the machine’s service life. Clean the body of
your machine with a soft brush, or dry cloth. If available, use clean, dry,
compressed air to blow through the ventilation holes
• Clean the tool casing with a soft damp cloth using a mild detergent. Do not
use alcohol, petrol or strong cleaning agents
• Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts
Note: Be especially careful to clean the machine thoroughly if used for both
wood and metal. Sparks from metalwork can easily ignite wood dust.
Lubrication
• Slightly lubricate all moving parts at regular intervals with a suitable spray
lubricant
Brushes
• Over time the carbon brushes inside the motor may become worn
• Excessively worn brushes may cause loss of power, intermittent failure, or
visible sparking
• To replace the brushes, remove the Brush Access Panels (7) from both
sides of the machine. Remove the worn brushes and replaced with new.
Replace brush access plugs. Alternatively, have the machine serviced at an
authorised Silverline service centre
Note: One set of Spare Brushes is supplied with this tool.
Storage
• Store this tool carefully in a secure, dry place out of the reach of children
Disposal
Always adhere to national regulations when disposing of power tools that are no
longer functional and are not viable for repair.
• Do not dispose of power tools, or other waste electrical and electronic
equipment (WEEE), with household waste
• Contact your local waste disposal authority for information on the correct
way to dispose of power tools

WAARSCHUWING: Bij een geluidsintensiteit van 85 dB(A) of hoger is het
dragen van gehoorbescherming en het limiteren van de blootstellingstijd
vereist. Bij oncomfortabel hoge geluidsniveaus, zelfs met het dragen van
gehoorbescherming, stopt u het gebruik van de machine onmiddellijk.
Controleer de pasvorm en het geluiddempingsniveau van de bescherming.
WAARSCHUWING: Blootstelling aan trilling resulteert mogelijk in
gevoelloosheid, tinteling en een vermindert gripvermogen. Langdurige
blootstelling kan leiden tot chronische condities. Limiteer de blootstellingsduur
en draag anti-vibratie handschoenen. Vibratie heeft een grotere invloed op
handen met een temperatuur lager dan een normale, comfortabele temperatuur.
Maak gebruik van de informatie in de specicaties voor het bereken van de
gebruiksduur en frequentie van de machine.
Geluid- en trillingsniveaus in de specicatie zijn vastgesteld volgens EN60745
of een gelijksoortige internationale norm. De waarden gelden voor een normaal
gebruik in normale werkomstandigheden. Een slecht onderhouden, onjuist
samengestelde of onjuist gebruikte machine produceert mogelijk hogere
geluids- en trillingsniveaus. www.osha.europa.eu biedt informatie met
betrekking tot geluids- en trillingsniveaus op de werkplek wat mogelijk nuttig is
voor regelmatige gebruikers van machines.
Algemene veiligheid voor
elektrisch gereedschap
WAARSCHUWING: Lees alle bediening- en veiligheidsvoorschriften.
Het niet opvolgen van alle voorschriften die hieronder vermeld staan, kan
resulteren in een elektrische schok, brand en/of ernstig letsel.
WAARSCHUWING: De machine is niet geschikt voor gebruik door personen
met een verminderde mentale of fysieke gesteldheid of een gebrek aan
ervaring, tenzij de persoon wordt begeleid of geïnstrueerd door een persoon
verantwoordelijk voor de veiligheid

De term “elektrisch gereedschap” in alle hieronder vermelde waarschuwingen
heeft betrekking op uw elektrische gereedschap dat op de stroom is
aangesloten (met een snoer) of met een accu wordt gevoed (snoerloos).
1) Veiligheid in de werkruimte
a) Houd de werkruimte schoon en zorg voor een goede verlichting.
Rommelige en donkere ruimtes leiden vaak
tot ongelukken.
b) Werk niet met elektrisch gereedschap in explosieve omgevingen,
bijvoorbeeld in de aanwezigheid van ontvlambare vloeistoffen,
gassen of stof.
Elektrisch gereedschap brengt vonken teweeg die stof of dampen kunnen
doen ontbranden.
c) Houd kinderen en omstanders uit de buurt wanneer u elektrisch
gereedschap bedient. Door afleiding kunt u de controle over het
gereedschap verliezen.
2) Elektrische veiligheid
a) De stekkers van het elektrische gereedschap moeten passen bij het
stopcontact. Pas de stekker niet aan. Gebruik geen adapterstekkers
bij geaard elektrisch gereedschap.
Het gebruik van ongewijzigde stekkers en passende stopcontacten
vermindert het risico op een elektrische schok.
De geluidsintensiteit voor de bediener kan 85 dB(A) overschrijden en de
gehoorbescherming is noodzakelijk.
Met het oog op onze aanhoudende productontwikkeling kunnen de specicaties
van GMC producten zonder voorafgaande kennisgeving worden gewijzigd.

b) Vermijd lichamelijk contact met geaarde oppervlakken zoals pijpen,
radiatoren, fornuizen en koelkasten. Het risico op een elektrische
schok neemt toe als uw lichaam geaard wordt.
c) Laat elektrisch gereedschap niet nat worden.
Wanneer elektrisch gereedschap nat wordt, neemt het risico op een
elektrische schok toe.
d) Beschadig het snoer niet. Gebruik het snoer nooit om het elektrisch
gereedschap te dragen, te trekken of om de stekker uit het
stopcontact te trekken. Houd het snoer uit de buurt van hitte, olie,
scherpe randen of bewegende delen. Een beschadigd of in de knoop
geraakt snoeren verhoogt het risico op een elektrische schok toe.
e) Wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap buiten gebruikt, maak dan
gebruik van een verlengsnoer dat geschikt is voor gebruik
buitenshuis. Gebruik een verlengsnoer dat geschikt is voor gebruik
buitenshuis om het risico op een elektrische schok te verminderen.
f) Indien het onvermijdelijk is elektrisch gereedschap te gebruiken
in een vochtige omgeving, gebruik dan een energiebron met een
aardlek beveiliging (Residual Currency Device). Het gebruik van een
RCD vermindert het risico op een elektrische schok.
3) Persoonlijke veiligheid
a) Blijf alert en gebruik uw gezonde verstand wanneer u elektrisch
gereedschap bedient. Gebruik het elektrisch gereedschap niet
wanneer u vermoeid bent of onder invloed van drugs, alcohol
of medicijnen. Onoplettendheid tijdens het bedienen van elektrisch
gereedschap kan leiden tot ernstig letsel.
b) Maak gebruik van persoonlijke bescherming. Draag altijd een
veiligheidsbril. Passende bescherming voor de omstandigheden,
zoals een stofmasker, niet-slippende veiligheidsschoenen een helm of
gehoorbescherming, vermindert het risico op persoonlijk letsel.
c) Zorg ervoor dat het apparaat niet per ongeluk wordt gestart.
Controleer of de schakelaar in de ‘uit’ stand staat voordat u
de stekker in het stopcontact steekt. Het dragen van elektrisch
gereedschap met uw vinger op de schakelaar of het aansluiten op de
stroom van elektrisch gereedschap met de schakelaar ingeschakeld kan
tot ongelukken leiden.
d) Verwijder alle stel- of moersleutels voordat u het elektrische
gereedschap inschakelt. Een moer- of stelsleutel die zich op een
draaiend onderdeel van het elektrische gereedschap bevindt, kan leiden
tot letsel.
e) Reik niet te ver. Blijf altijd stevig en in balans staan.
Zo houdt u meer controle over het elektrische gereedschap in
onverwachte situaties.
f) Draag geschikte kleding. Draag geen loshangende kleding of
sieraden. Houd haren, kleding en handschoenen uit de buurt van
bewegende delen. Loshangende kleding, sieraden en los hangende haren
kunnen vast komen te zitten in bewegende delen.
g) Als er onderdelen voor stofafvoer- en stofverzameling worden
meegeleverd, sluit deze dan aan en gebruik deze op de juiste wijze.
Het gebruik van deze onderdelen kan het risico op stof gerelateerde
ongelukken verminderen.
4) Gebruik en verzorging van elektrisch gereedschap
a) Forceer elektrisch gereedschap niet. Gebruik elektrisch
gereedschap dat geschikt is voor het werk dat u wilt uitvoeren.
Geschikt elektrisch gereedschap werkt beter en veiliger op een passende
snelheid.
b) Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap niet als de schakelaar het
apparaat niet in- en uitschakelt. Elektrisch gereedschap dat niet
bediend kan worden met de schakelaar is gevaarlijk en moet gerepareerd
worden.
c) Haal de stekker uit het stopcontact voordat u instellingen aanpast,
toebehoren verwisselt of het elektrische gereedschap opbergt.
Dergelijke voorzorgsmaatregelen verminderen het risico op het per
ongeluk starten van het elektrische gereedschap.
d) Berg elektrisch gereedschap dat niet in gebruik is op buiten bereik
van kinderen en laat mensen die niet bekend zijn met het elektrische
gereedschap of met deze instructies het elektrische gereedschap
niet bedienen. Elektrisch gereedschap is gevaarlijk in de handen van
onervaren gebruikers.
e) Onderhoud uw elektrisch gereedschap. Controleer op foutieve
uitlijning of het vastslaan van bewegende delen, gebroken
onderdelen en elke andere afwijking die de werking van het
elektrische gereedschap zou kunnen beïnvloeden. Indien het
elektrische gereedschap beschadigd is, moet u het laten repareren
voordat u het weer gebruikt. Veel ongelukken worden veroorzaakt door
slecht onderhouden elektrisch gereedschap.
f) Houd snijwerktuigen scherp en schoon. Goed onderhouden
snijwerktuigen met scherpe messen slaan minder snel vast en zijn
gemakkelijker te bedienen.
g) Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap, toebehoren en onderdelen,
etc. volgens deze instructies en volgens bestemming voor het
specifieke type elektrisch gereedschap, en houd daarbij rekening
met de werkomstandigheden en het uit te voeren werk. Gebruik van
elektrisch gereedschap voor werkzaamheden die verschillen van die
waarvoor het apparaat bestemd is, kan leiden tot gevaarlijke situaties.
WAARSCHUWING: Wanneer de machine in Australië of Nieuw-Zeeland
gebruikt wordt, met een lekstroom van 30 mA of lager, is het gebruik van
een aardlekschakelaar aanbevolen
5) Onderhoud
a) Laat uw elektrische gereedschap onderhouden door
een gekwalificeerde vakman en gebruik alleen identieke
vervangstukken. Zo bent u er zeker van dat de veiligheid van het
elektrische gereedschap gewaarborgd blijft.

Veiligheid schuurmachines
WAARSCHUWING: Houdt de machine bij de geïsoleerde handvaten vast.
Wanneer de machine door een stroomsnoer schuurt komen onderdelen mogelijk
onder stroom te stoom te staan wat kan resulteren in elektrische schok
WAARSCHUWING: Klem het werkstuk op een stevige werkbank vast. Wanneer
u het werkstuk met de hand vasthoudt of tegen uw lichaam klemt, verliest u
mogelijk de controle over de machine
a) Draag te allen tijde de juiste bescherming. Draag een stofmasker (minimale
beschermingswaarde FFP2), veiligheidsbril en gehoorbescherming
b) Het is de verantwoordelijkheid van de gebruiker om ervoor te zorgen dat
personen die zich in de nabijheid van de werkruimte bevinden ook met de
gepaste persoonlijke bescherming zijn uitgerust
c) Neem speciale voorzorgen bij het schuren van bepaalde houtsoorten (zoals
beuk, eik, mahonie en teak), omdat het stof dat daarbij vrijkomt giftig is en bij
bepaalde personen extreme reacties kan teweegbrengen
d) Bewerk geen materiaal wat asbest bevat. Neem contact op met een
gekwaliceerd persoon wanneer u enigszins onzeker bent of materiaal
asbest bevat
e) Schuur geen magnesium of legeringen met een hoog magnesiumgehalte
f) Ben bewust van verf op andere behandelingen op het te schuren materiaal.
Vele behandelingen produceren schadelijk zaagsel. Bij werkzaamheden aan
een gebouw van vóór 1960 is de kans op loodhoudende verf groter.
g) Het stof dat vrijkomt bij het afschuren van loodhoudende verf is vooral
gevaarlijk voor kinderen, zwangere vrouwen en personen met hoge
bloeddruk. Laat deze personen de werkplaats niet betreden, zelfs niet met
de juiste beschermende kleding
h) Gebruik wanneer mogelijk een stofafzuigsysteem om stof en afval onder
controle te houden
i) Wees vooral voorzichtig wanneer u de machine voor zowel het schuren van
hout als het schuren van metaal gebruikt. Vonken van de metaalbewerking
kunnen houtschuurstof gemakkelijk doen ontbranden. Maak uw machine
altijd grondig schoon om de kans op brand te verkleinen
j) De stofzak dient tijdens gebruik regelmatig, en na elk gebruik geleegd te
worden. Zaagsel is mogelijk een explosierisico. Gooi zaagsel niet in open
vuur. Wanneer stofdeeltjes in contact komen met water of oliedeeltjes
ontstaat mogelijk spontane ontbranding
k) Werkvlakken en schuurpapier kunnen tijdens het gebruik erg heet worden.
Leg het werk even stil als het werkvlak tekenen van brand (rook of as)
vertoont, en laat het materiaal afkoelen. Raak het werkvlak of schuurpapier
niet aan voordat het is afgekoeld.
l) Raak het bewegende schuurpapier niet aan
m) Schakel de machine uit voordat u het neerlegt
n) Gebruik geen nat schuurpapier. Vloeistoffen gaan mogelijk de motor in wat
kan resulteren in elektrische schok
o) Ontkoppel de machine van de stroomtoevoer voor het maken van enige
aanpassingen en/of het verwisselen van schuurpapier
p) Zelfs wanneer het gereedschap gebruikt wordt zoals is voorgeschreven,
is het niet mogelijk alle resterende risicofactoren te elimineren. Gebruik de
machine bij enige twijfel niet
Slijproller veiligheid
• Pas de positie van de beschermkap aan wanneer de werkhoek veranderd
wordt. Wanneer u onzeker bent over de juiste gebruikswijze van de
beschermkap of enig ander deel van de machine, raadpleegt u professionele
hulp
• De maximale snelheid van het bevestigde accessoire hoort te allen tijde
hoger te zijn dan de maximale snelheid van de machine
• Gebruik geen adapters of sluitringen om accessoires met onjuiste
afmetingen passend te maken
• Zorg ervoor dat de snij-/slijpschijf juist en veilig is gemonteerd. Laat de
machine met gemonteerde snij-/slijpschijf zonder belasting gedurende 30
seconden draaien voor u met slijpen begint. Indien te veel trillingen optreden,
zet u de machine uit en verhelpt u de trillingen voor gebruik. Wanneer u
enigszins onzeker bent betreft de juiste gebruikswijze van de machine
raadpleegt u professionele hulp
• Alle schijven en accessoires dienen voor elk gebruik gecontroleerd te
worden. Wanneer een accessoire beschadigd is vervangt u het onmiddellijk!
Wanneer u niet zeker bent of het accessoire veilig te gebruiken is, gebruikt u
het accessoire niet en vervangt u het
• Accessoires mogen niet in contact komen met water of vet. Wanneer u
vermoedt dat het accessoires tijdens opberging verzwakt is, gebruikt u het
niet
• Slijp geen magnesium of legeringen met een hoog magnesiumgehalte
• Houdt de machine juist vast om er voor te zorgen dat het afval niet op uw
huid of kleding terecht komt
• Druk de spindelvergrendeling niet in wanneer de machine in gebruik is
• Accessoires blijven na uitschakeling nog enige tijd doordraaien. Laat het
accessoire tot stilstand komen. Probeer het accessoire niet te stoppen
door deze te belasten. Leg de machine NOOIT neer voordat het accessoire
volledig tot stilstand is gekomen
• Een snij/slijpschijf/wiel zal door gebruik verslijten en kleiner worden. Vervang
een schijf/wiel wanneer het te klein wordt voor een gemakkelijk gebruik

Gebruiksdoel
• Gesnoerde slijproller voor het schuren, polijsten en slijpen van platte, en
gevormde oppervlakken, met gebruik van verschillende verkrijgbare schuur
en polijstwielen. Te gebruiken op verschillende metalen, houtsoorten en
andere materialen
Het uitpakken van uw gereedschap
• Pak uw toestel / gereedschap uit. Inspecteer het en zorg dat u met alle
kenmerken en functies vertrouwd raakt.
• Controleer of alle onderdelen aanwezig zijn en in goede staat verkeren. Als
er onderdelen ontbreken of beschadigd zijn, zorg dan dat deze vervangen
worden voor u dit toestel / gereedschap gebruikt.
Voor gebruik
WAARSCHUWING: Schakel de machine uit en ontkoppel deze van de
stroombron voordat u accessoires verwisselt of aanpassingen maakt
Het bevestigen van het voorhandvat
• Het voorhandvat (13) dient voor gebruik op de machine bevestigd te worden
1. Schroef het handvat op het linker of rechter bevestigingspunt (12/16) van
de machine vast, afhankelijk van het uit te voeren werk en voorkeur van de
gebruiker
2. Houdt het handvat in de juiste hoek op de machine
3. Draai het handvat stevig, maar niet te strak vast
Het bevestigen en afnemen van het schuurwiel
BELANGRIJK: Het schuurwiel (15) of ander accessoire dient goed op de
machine bevestigd te worden
BELANGRIJK: Controleer de staat waarin het accessoire verkeerd voordat u
het op de machine bevestigd
1. Verwijder het bestaande wiel/accessoire door de as-vergrendelknop (11) met
de ene hand in te drukken
2. Verwijder de sluitring en bout (zie afbeelding II), door de bout met gebruik
van de inbegrepen steeksleutel linksom los te draaien. De bout draait vrij
rond tot de as-vergrendeling ingrijpt
3. Schuif het bestaande wiel/accessoire van de pin en vang de twee pinnen die
van de as vallen op
4. Schuif het nieuwe wiel/accessoire op de as (10). Plaats beide pinnen als
weergegeven in afbeelding I
5. Druk de as-vergrendelknop in, plaats de sluitring terug en draai de bout vast
(zie afbeelding II)

1. Controleer de schuurband op slijtage en beschadiging
2. Controleer of de schuurband voorzien is van een rotatierichting aanduiding
en zorg ervoor dat deze overeenkomt met de indicator (14) op de machine
3. Schuif de schuurband over het wiel (17)
4. Zorg ervoor dat de schuurband stevig bevestigd is voordat u de machine gebruikt
Het verwisselen van de beschermkap
• De beschermkap (1) hoort tussen het wiel en de gebruiker te zitten. Wanneer
de werkhoek of de positie van de gebruiker verandert past u de positie van
de beschermkap aan. Raadpleeg professionele hulp wanneer het gebruik
van de beschermkappen onduidelijk is
• De beschermkap kan over 360° versteld worden, tussen het wiel en de
gebruiker, voor een veilig gebruik bij elk uit te voeren werk
• Draai de vergrendelbout (8) los, plaats de beschermkap in de gewenste
positie en draai de bout weer vast
Gebruik
WAARSCHUWING: Bij het gebruik van de machine is het dragen van een
veiligheidsbril, een stofmasker, gehoorbescherming en geschikte handschoenen
aanbevolen
WAARSCHUWING: Het gebruik van het staalborstel wiel op staal en andere
ferrieten produceert mogelijk vonken, wat ontvlambare gassen en materialen als
papier en zaagsel mogelijk doet ontbranden
BELANGRIJK: De motor ventilatiegaten (6) dienen schoon gehouden te
worden. Metaalstof en zaagsel wat de ventilatiegaten binnendringt, kan de
motor beschadigen en vernietigen
BELANGRIJK: Stop het werk regelmatig om de werkruimte schoon te maken
en de ophoping van zaagsel en stof te voorkomen. Maak wanneer mogelijk
gebruik van een stof ontginningssysteem
Het in- en uitschakelen van de machine
LET OP: Schakel de machine niet aan of uit wanneer het wiel het werkstuk
raakt. Laat de motor volledige op snelheid komen voordat u de machine belast.
Laat de machine volledig tot stilstand komen voordat deze neergelegd wordt.
Houd de machine stevig, met beide handen bij de handvaten vast.
• Om de machine te starten pakt u de handvaten (4+13) stevig vasten knijpt u
de trekker schakelaar (5) in
• Laat de trekker schakelaar los om de machine uit te schakelen
• De machine kan in de aan-stand vergrendeld worden met gebruik van de
aan-stand vergrendelknop (3). Houdt de trekker schakelaar ingeknepen
wanneer u de vergrendelknop indrukt. Knijp de trekker schakelaar opnieuw
in en laat deze los om de functie en de machine uit te schakelen
Snelheidscontrole
• Verstel de snelheid van de machine met gebruik van het
snelheidscontrolewiel (2): een hoger nummer duidt op een hogere snelheid
WAARSCHUWING: Stel de snelheid van de machine, passend bij het uit te
voeren werk
WAARSCHUWING: De maximale snelheid van het bevestigde wiel/accessoire
dient nooit overschreden te worden
Polijst tips
BELANGRIJK: Voor het verkrijgen van een perfecte jne afwerking, slaat u niet
meer dan één korrelgrofte maat over bij het wisselen van een grof schuurvel
naar een jn schuurvel
• Zorg ervoor dat het te polijsten oppervlak schoon en droog is
