WARNING: Always wear ear protection where the sound level exceeds 85dB(A) and limit the time of exposure
if necessary. If sound levels are uncomfortable, even with ear protection, stop using the tool immediately and
check the ear protection is correctly fitted and provides the correct level of sound attenuation for the level of
sound produced by your tool.
WARNING: User exposure to tool vibration can result in loss of sense of touch, numbness, tingling and
reduced ability to grip. Long-term exposure can lead to a chronic condition. If necessary, limit the length of
time exposed to vibration and use anti-vibration gloves. Do not operate the tool with hands below a normal
comfortable temperature, as vibration will have a greater effect. Use the figures provided in the specification
relating to vibration to calculate the duration and frequency of operating the tool.
Sound and vibration levels in the specification are determined according to international standards. The
figures represent normal use for the tool in normal working conditions. A poorly maintained, incorrectly
assembled, or misused tool, may produce increased levels of noise and vibration.
www.osha.europa.eu provides information on sound and vibration levels in the workplace that may be useful
to domestic users who use tools for long periods of time.
Carefully read and understand this manual and any label attached to the tool before use. Keep these
instructions with the product for future reference. Ensure all persons who use this product are fully acquainted
with this manual.
Even when used as prescribed it is not possible to eliminate all residual risk factors. Use with caution. If you
are at all unsure of the correct and safe manner in which to use this tool, do not attempt to use it.
General Safety
WARNING Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions
may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
WARNING: This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced,
physical or mental capabilities or lack of experience or knowledge unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated
(cordless) power tool.
1) Work area safety
a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable
liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose
control.
2) Electrical safety
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter
plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of
electric shock.
b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk
of electric shock.
d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool.
Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the
risk of electric shock.
e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a
cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
f) If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD)
protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
3) Personal safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not
use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication.
A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as dust
mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce
personal injuries.
c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to power
source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on
the switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left
attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the
power tool in unexpected situations.
f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from
moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these
are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.
h) Do not let familiarity gained from frequent use of tools allow you to become complacent and
ignore tool safety principles. A careless action can cause severe injury within a fraction of a second.
4) Power tool use and care
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool
will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be
controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
c) Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from the power tool before
making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety
measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the
power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of
untrained users.
e) Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and
any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool
repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less
likely to bind and are easier to control.
g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking
into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for
operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
h) Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles and
grasping surfaces do not allow for safe handling and control of the tool in unexpected situations.
5) Service
a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts.
This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
Sanding Safety
Sanding Tool Safety
WARNING!
• Hold the power tool by insulated handles or gripping surfaces only, because the sanding belt/sheet
may contact its own cord. Cutting a "live" wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool ‘live’
and could give the operator an electric shock.
• Use clamps or another practical way to secure the workpiece to a stable platform. Holding the
workpiece by hand or against the body makes it unstable and may lead to loss of control.
• Recommendation that the tool always be supplied via a residual current device with a rated
residual current of 30 mA or less.
• If the replacement of the supply cord is necessary, this has to be done by the manufacturer or his
agent in order to avoid a safety hazard.
a. ALWAYS wear appropriate protective equipment, including a dust mask with a minimum FFP2 rating, eye
protection and ear defenders
b. Ensure all people in the vicinity of the work area are also equipped with suitable personal protective
equipment
c. Take special care when sanding some woods (such as beech, oak, mahogany and teak), as the dust
produced is toxic and can cause extreme reactions
d. NEVER use to process any materials containing asbestos. Consult a qualified professional, if you are
uncertain whether an object contains asbestos
e. DO NOT sand magnesium or alloys containing a high percentage of magnesium
f. Be aware of paint finishes or treatments that may have been applied to the material that is being sanded.
Many treatments can create dust that is toxic, or otherwise harmful. If working on a building constructed
prior to 1960, there is an increased chance of encountering lead-based paints

g. The dust produced when sanding lead-based paints is particularly hazardous to children, pregnant
women, and people with high blood pressure. DO NOT allow these people near to the work area, even if
wearing appropriate personal protective equipment
h. Whenever possible, use a vacuum dust extraction system to control dust and waste
i. Be especially careful when using a machine for both wood and metal sanding. Sparks from metal can
easily ignite wood dust. ALWAYS clean your machine thoroughly to reduce the risk of fire
j. Empty the dust bag or container (where applicable) frequently during use, before taking breaks and after
completion of sanding. Dust may be an explosion hazard. DO NOT throw sanding dust into an open fire.
Spontaneous combustion may occur when oil or water particles come into contact with dust particles.
Dispose of waste materials carefully and in accordance with local laws and regulations.
k. Work surfaces and sandpaper can become very hot during use. If there is evidence of burning (smoke
or ash), from the work surface, stop and allow the material to cool. DO NOT touch work surface or
sandpaper until they have had time to cool
l. DO NOT touch the moving sandpaper
m. ALWAYS switch off before you put the sander down
n. DO NOT use for wet sanding. Liquids entering the motor housing can cause severe electric shocks
o. ALWAYS unplug the sander from the mains power supply before changing or replacing sandpaper
p. Even when this tool is used as prescribed it is not possible to eliminate all residual risk factors. If you are
in any doubt as to safe use of this tool, do not use it
Additional safety for burnisher
drum sanders
• Reset the guard if the work angle or the position of the person operating the machine changes. Seek
professional guidance if you are unsure how to operate the guards or any other safety features of the
machine correctly
• The maximum speed of the cutting/grinding disc or other accessory must always be higher than the
maximum speed of the machine on which they are mounted
• Do not use any form of spacers or adapters in an attempt to make an incorrectly sized disc fit your
machine
• Ensure the cutting/grinding disc or accessory is fitted correctly and securely before use. Run the machine
with the disc or accessory fitted, but without load, for a reasonable time before attempting to cut/grind.
If excessive vibration occurs, stop the machine, investigate and correct the cause before use. Seek
professional guidance if you are in doubt about how to operate the machine safely
• All discs and accessories must be checked before installation. If a disc is damaged in any way, by being
chipped, fractured, warped or misshapen, DO NOT USE AND DISCARD. If you are unsure about whether a
disc is safe to operate, DO NOT USE AND DISCARD
• Do not allow discs to become wet or contaminated with oil. If you suspect that a disc has degraded in
storage, or if you are unsure about whether its expiry date has passed, DO NOT USE AND DISCARD
• Do not attempt to cut or grind magnesium or any alloy that has high magnesium content
• Hold the machine appropriately to ensure that debris produced does not land on skin or clothing
• Do not operate the spindle lock while the sander is running
• Discs will continue to rotate for some time after the machine has been switched off. Allow the moving
parts to stop completely without interference. Do not try to stop the machine by holding an object against
the disc. NEVER place the sander down until the disc has completely stopped moving
• A sanding wheel or disc will gradually wear down during use, reducing its size. If a wheel or disc
becomes too small to work with easily, stop using it and replace it with a new disc

Intended Use
• Mains powered portable hand tool for dry sanding, polishing, die-polishing and abrasion of flat, curved
and shaped surfaces using a range of replaceable sanding and polishing drums. Suitable for various
metals, woods and other materials.
Unpacking Your Tool
• Carefully unpack and inspect your new sander. Familiarise yourself with all its features and functions
• Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If any parts are missing or damaged,
have such parts replaced before attempting to use this tool
Before Use
WARNING: Ensure the tool is disconnected from the power supply before attaching or changing any
accessories, or making any adjustments.
Fitting the front handle
• The Front Handle (13) must be fitted to the machine before use:
1. Screw the Front Handle to either the Left Side Handle Thread (12) or the Right Side Handle Thread (16) to
suit the task at hand and operator
2. Angle the Front Handle to the required position
3. Ensure the Grip of the Front Handle is tightly screwed in without over-tightening
Fitting and removing the sanding drum
IMPORTANT: The Sanding Drum (15) or other accessory must be securely fitted before use.
IMPORTANT: Always check the condition before fitting and do not fit if damaged or heavily worn beyond
normal use.
1. Remove the existing drum or accessory by pressing and holding the Spindle Lock Button (11) with one
hand
2. Remove the washer and bolt (Image B), by unscrewing the bolt anti-clockwise using the supplied spanner.
It will freely rotate until the spindle lock engages, and then it will unscrew
3. Slide off the existing drum or accessory and catch the two drum pins that fall from the Drum Spindle (10)
4. Slide the new drum or accessory over the Drum Spindle. Insert BOTH drum pins as seen in Image A to

5. Press the Spindle Lock Button and refit the washer and bolt (Image B)
Fitting a sanding sleeve to the sanding sleeve drum
1. Visually check the sanding sleeve for damage or tears
2. Check to see if there is a rotation direction indicated on the inside of the sanding sleeve and match it to
the Rotation Direction Indicator (14) marked on the tool
3. Slide the sanding sleeve over the Sanding Sleeve Drum (17)
4. Check the sleeve is secure on the drum before use
Adjusting the guard
• The Guard (1) must be adjusted so that it is situated between the drum and the operator. Reset the Guard
if the work angle or the position of the operator changes. Seek professional guidance if you are unsure
how to operate the guards or any other safety features of the machine correctly
• The Guard can be moved through a range of 360°, so that it can be placed between the drum and the
operator at any required work angle
• Loosen the Guard Securing Bolt (8), reposition as required and re-tighten the Guard Securing Bolt
Operation
WARNING: ALWAYS wear eye protection, adequate respiratory and hearing protection, as well as suitable
gloves, when working with this tool.
WARNING: Using the steel wire brush drum with steel and other ferrite metals may cause sparks, which may
ignite flammable gas or flammable material, for example paper, wood dust and metal swarf. Ensure the work
area is free of such materials and ensure there is a suitable extinguisher to hand.
IMPORTANT: Ensure the Motor Vents (6) are kept clean during use. Metal swarf and wood dust entering the
tool can damage or destroy it.
IMPORTANT: Stop frequently while operating to clean the work area and prevent a build-up of swarf and dust.
Where possible have a dust extraction system operating around the work area.
Switching ON & OFF
Note: DO NOT switch the tool ON or OFF when the sanding drum is in contact with the workpiece. Always
allow its full speed before applying load, and to stop completely before placing the sander down. ALWAYS hold
the tool securely, using both hands, on the handles provided.
1. To switch the tool ON, grip the Rear Handle (4) and Front Handle (13) firmly and depress the ON/OFF Trigger
Switch (5)
2. To switch the tool OFF, release the ON/OFF Trigger Switch
• The tool can be locked into the ON position using the Lock-On Button (3):
1. Depress the ON/OFF Trigger Switch then press in the Lock-On Button to engage
2. To disengage the Lock-On Button, depress then release the ON/OFF Trigger Switch
Adjusting the tool speed
• The speed of the machine is controlled using the Variable Speed Control (2): a higher number indicates a
higher speed setting. See fig. I
WARNING: Always set the speed control dial to the correct speed for the task at hand.
WARNING: Never exceed the maximum speed of the installed sanding drum or accessory.
Polishing tips
IMPORTANT: To achieve a perfectly smooth polished surface do not skip more than one grit size when
switching from a coarse grit to a fine grit.
• Ensure the area to be polished is clean and dry
• Choose only polishing compounds that are compatible with the material that requires polishing, and with
the method of application. Read and understand all information supplied with your polishing compound
before use
Sanding tips
WARNING: NEVER use this machine for wet sanding.
WARNING: ALWAYS use adequate respiratory protection when sanding.
• Allow the machine to reach the required speed before bringing the sanding paper into contact with the
workpiece
• Start with a coarse grit paper, and work through progressively finer grit papers until the desired finish is
achieved
• Apply only moderate pressure to the sander. Pressing too hard onto the work surface may overheat the
motor or damage the work surface
• Sand evenly over the work surface.

Maintenance
WARNING: ALWAYS disconnect from the power supply before carrying out any inspection, maintenance
or cleaning.
General inspection
• Regularly check that all the fixing screws are tight
• Inspect the supply cord of the tool, prior to each use, for damage or wear. Repairs should be carried out
by an authorised GMC service centre. This advice also applies to extension cords used with this tool
Cleaning
• Keep your tool clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to wear quickly, and shorten the
machine’s service life. Clean the body of your machine with a soft brush, or dry cloth. If available, use
clean, dry, compressed air to blow through the ventilation holes
• Clean the tool casing with a soft damp cloth using a mild detergent. Do not use alcohol, petrol or strong
cleaning agents
• Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts
Note: Be especially careful to clean the machine thoroughly if used for both wood and metal. Sparks from
metalwork can easily ignite wood dust.
Lubrication
• Slightly lubricate all moving parts at regular intervals with a suitable spray lubricant
Brushes
• Over time the carbon brushes inside the motor may become worn
• Excessively worn brushes may cause loss of power, intermittent failure, or visible sparking
• To replace the brushes:
1. Remove the Brush Cover (7) from both sides of the tool
2. Remove the worn brushes and replace with new
3. Replace the Brush Covers
• Alternatively, have the tool serviced at an authorised GMC service centre

WAARSCHUWING: Bij een geluidsintensiteit van 85 dB(A) of hoger is het dragen van gehoorbescherming en
het limiteren van de blootstellingstijd vereist. Bij oncomfortabel hoge geluidsniveaus, zelfs met het dragen
van gehoorbescherming, stopt u het gebruik van de machine onmiddellijk. Controleer de pasvorm en het
geluiddempingsniveau van de bescherming.
WAARSCHUWING: Blootstelling aan trilling resulteert mogelijk in gevoelloosheid, tinteling en een vermindert
gripvermogen. Langdurige blootstelling kan leiden tot chronische condities. Limiteer de blootstellingsduur en
draag anti-vibratie handschoenen. Vibratie heeft een grotere invloed op handen met een temperatuur lager
dan een normale, comfortabele temperatuur. Maak gebruik van de informatie in de specificaties voor het
bereken van de gebruiksduur en frequentie van de machine.
Geluids- en trillingsniveaus in de specificaties zijn bepaald in overeenstemming met internationale normen. De
waarden gelden voor een normaal gebruik in normale werkomstandigheden. Een slecht onderhouden, onjuist
samengestelde of onjuist gebruikte machine produceert mogelijk hogere geluids- en trillingsniveaus. www.
osha.europa.eu biedt informatie met betrekking tot geluids- en trillingsniveaus op de werkplek wat mogelijk
nuttig is voor regelmatige gebruikers van machines.
Lees voor gebruik deze handleiding en alle etiketten op het gereedschap zorgvuldig na. Bewaar deze
handleiding bij het product voor toekomstig gebruik. Zorg ervoor dat iedereen die dit product gebruikt, de
handleiding heeft doorgenomen.
Zelfs indien het gereedschap wordt gebruikt volgens de aanwijzingen, is het onmogelijk om alle risicofactoren
te elimineren. Wees dus voorzichtig. Gebruik dit gereedschap niet als u twijfelt aan de juiste en veilige
gebruikswijze.
Algemene veiligheid
WAARSCHUWING Lees alle bediening- en veiligheidsvoorschriften. Het niet opvolgen van alle
voorschriften die hieronder vermeld staan, kan resulteren in een elektrische schok, brand en/of ernstig letsel.
WAARSCHUWING: De machine is niet geschikt voor gebruik door personen met een verminderde mentale
of fysieke gesteldheid of een gebrek aan ervaring, tenzij de persoon wordt begeleid of geïnstrueerd door een
persoon verantwoordelijk voor de veiligheid
Bewaar deze voorschriften voor toekomstig gebruik.
De term “elektrisch gereedschap” in alle hieronder vermelde waarschuwingen heeft betrekking op uw
elektrische gereedschap dat op de stroom is aangesloten (met een snoer) of met een accu wordt gevoed
(snoerloos).
1) Veiligheid in de werkruimte
a) Houd de werkruimte schoon en zorg voor een goede verlichting. Rommelige en donkere ruimtes leiden
vaak tot ongelukken.
b) Werk niet met elektrisch gereedschap in explosieve omgevingen, bijvoorbeeld in de aanwezigheid
van ontvlambare vloeistoffen, gassen of stof. Elektrisch gereedschap brengt vonken teweeg die stof of
dampen kunnen doen ontbranden.
c) Houd kinderen en omstanders uit de buurt wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap bedient. Door afleiding
kunt u de controle over het gereedschap verliezen.
2) Elektrische veiligheid
a) De stekkers van het elektrische gereedschap moeten passen bij het stopcontact. Pas de stekker niet
aan. Gebruik geen adapterstekkers bij geaard elektrisch gereedschap. Het gebruik van ongewijzigde
stekkers en passende stopcontacten vermindert het risico op een elektrische schok.
b) Vermijd lichamelijk contact met geaarde oppervlakken zoals pijpen, radiatoren, fornuizen en
koelkasten. Het risico op een elektrische schok neemt toe als uw lichaam geaard wordt.
c) Laat elektrisch gereedschap niet nat worden. Wanneer elektrisch gereedschap nat wordt, neemt het
risico op een elektrische schok toe.
d) Beschadig het snoer niet. Gebruik het snoer nooit om het elektrisch gereedschap te dragen, te
trekken of om de stekker uit het stopcontact te trekken. Houd het snoer uit de buurt van hitte, olie,
scherpe randen of bewegende delen. Een beschadigd of in de knoop geraakt snoeren verhoogt het risico
op een elektrische schok toe.
e) Wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap buiten gebruikt, maak dan gebruik van een verlengsnoer dat
geschikt is voor gebruik buitenshuis. Gebruik een verlengsnoer dat geschikt is voor gebruik buitenshuis
om het risico op een elektrische schok te verminderen.
f) Indien het onvermijdelijk is elektrisch gereedschap te gebruiken in een vochtige omgeving, gebruik
dan een energiebron met een aard lek beveiliging (Residual Currency Device). Het gebruik van een
RCD vermindert het risico op een elektrische schok.
g) WAARSCHUWING: Wanneer de machine in Australië of Nieuw-Zeeland gebruikt wordt, met een
lekstroom van 30 mA of lager, is het gebruik van een aardlekschakelaar aanbevolen
3) Persoonlijke veiligheid
a) Blijf alert en gebruik uw gezonde verstand wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap bedient. Gebruik
het elektrisch gereedschap niet wanneer u vermoeid bent of onder invloed van drugs, alcohol of
medicijnen. Onoplettendheid tijdens het bedienen van elektrisch gereedschap kan leiden tot ernstig letsel.
b) Maak gebruik van persoonlijke bescherming. Draag altijd een veiligheidsbril. Passende bescherming
voor de omstandigheden, zoals een stofmasker, niet-slippende veiligheidsschoenen een helm of
gehoorbescherming, vermindert het risico op persoonlijk letsel.
c) Zorg ervoor dat het apparaat niet per ongeluk wordt gestart. Controleer of de schakelaar in de ‘uit’
stand staat voordat u de stekker in het stopcontact steekt. Het dragen van elektrisch gereedschap met
uw vinger op de schakelaar of het aansluiten op de stroom van elektrisch gereedschap met de schakelaar
ingeschakeld kan tot ongelukken leiden.
d) Verwijder alle stel- of moersleutels voordat u het elektrische gereedschap inschakelt. Een moer- of
stelsleutel die zich op een draaiend onderdeel van het elektrische gereedschap bevindt, kan leiden tot
letsel.
e) Reik niet te ver. Blijf altijd stevig en in balans staan. Zo houdt u meer controle over het elektrische
gereedschap in onverwachte situaties.
f) Draag geschikte kleding. Draag geen loshangende kleding of sieraden. Houd haren, kleding en
handschoenen uit de buurt van bewegende delen. Loshangende kleding, sieraden en los hangende
haren kunnen vast komen te zitten in bewegende delen.
g) Als er onderdelen voor stofafvoer- en stofverzameling worden meegeleverd, sluit deze dan aan en
gebruik deze op de juiste wijze. Het gebruik van deze onderdelen kan het risico op stofgerelateerde
ongelukken verminderen.
h) Laat vertrouwdheid door het veelvoudig gebruik van gereedschap u niet zelfgenoegzaam maken en
negeer nooit de veiligheidsprincipes. Een roekeloze handeling kan in een fractie van een seconde een
ernstige verwonding veroorzaken.
4) Gebruik en verzorging van elektrisch gereedschap
a) Forceer elektrisch gereedschap niet. Gebruik elektrisch gereedschap dat geschikt is voor het werk
dat u wilt uitvoeren. Geschikt elektrisch gereedschap werkt beter en veiliger op een passende snelheid.
b) Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap niet als de schakelaar het apparaat niet in- en uitschakelt.
Elektrisch gereedschap dat niet bediend kan worden met de schakelaar is gevaarlijk en moet gerepareerd
worden.
c) Haal de stekker uit het stopcontact voordat u instellingen aanpast, toebehoren verwisselt of het
elektrische gereedschap opbergt. Dergelijke voorzorgsmaatregelen verminderen het risico op het per
ongeluk starten van het elektrische gereedschap.
d) Berg elektrisch gereedschap dat niet in gebruik is op buiten bereik van kinderen en laat mensen
die niet bekend zijn met het elektrische gereedschap of met deze instructies het elektrische
gereedschap niet bedienen. Elektrisch gereedschap is gevaarlijk in de handen van onervaren gebruikers.
e) Onderhoud uw elektrisch gereedschap. Controleer op foutieve uitlijning of het vastslaan van
bewegende delen, gebroken onderdelen en elke andere afwijking die de werking van het
elektrische gereedschap zou kunnen beïnvloeden. Indien het elektrische gereedschap beschadigd
is, moet u het laten repareren voordat u het weer gebruikt. Veel ongelukken worden veroorzaakt door
slecht onderhouden elektrisch gereedschap.
f) Houd snijwerktuigen scherp en schoon. Goed onderhouden snijwerktuigen met scherpe messen slaan
minder snel vast en zijn gemakkelijker te bedienen.
g) Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap, toebehoren en onderdelen, etc. volgens deze instructies en
volgens bestemming voor het specifieke type elektrisch gereedschap, en houd daarbij rekening
met de werkomstandigheden en het uit te voeren werk. Gebruik van elektrisch gereedschap voor
werkzaamheden die verschillen van die waarvoor het apparaat bestemd is, kan leiden tot gevaarlijke
situaties.
h) Zorg dat de handvaten en grepen droog, schoon en vrij van olie en vet zijn. Glibberige handvaten en
grepen zijn niet veilig te gebruiken en zorgen voor minder controle in onverwachte situaties.
5) Onderhoud
a) Laat uw elektrische gereedschap onderhouden door een gekwalificeerde vakman en gebruik alleen
identieke vervangstukken. Zo bent u er zeker van dat de veiligheid van het elektrische gereedschap
gewaarborgd blijft.
Veiligheid schuurmachines
• Houdt de machine bij de geïsoleerde handvaten vast. Wanneer de machine door een stroomsnoer
schuurt komen onderdelen mogelijk onder stroom te stoom te staan wat kan resulteren in elektrische
schok
• Klem het werkstuk op een stevige werkbank vast. Wanneer u het werkstuk met de hand vasthoudt of
tegen uw lichaam klemt, verliest u mogelijk de controle over de machine
• Het is aanbevolen de machine via een aardlekschakelaar met een maximale lekstroom van 30 mA
aan te sluiten op een stroombron.
• Laat het stroomsnoer wanneer nodig bij de fabrikant of een geautoriseerd service center vervangen
om de kans op persoonlijk letsel te voorkomen

a) Draag te allen tijde de juiste bescherming. Draag een stofmasker (minimale beschermingswaarde FFP2),
veiligheidsbril en gehoorbescherming
b) Het is de verantwoordelijkheid van de gebruiker om ervoor te zorgen dat personen die zich in de nabijheid
van de werkruimte bevinden ook met de gepaste persoonlijke bescherming zijn uitgerust
c) Neem speciale voorzorgen bij het schuren van bepaalde houtsoorten (zoals beuk, eik, mahonie en
teak), omdat het stof dat daarbij vrijkomt giftig is en bij bepaalde personen extreme reacties kan
teweegbrengen
d) Bewerk geen materiaal wat asbest bevat. Neem contact op met een gekwalificeerd persoon wanneer u
enigszins onzeker bent of materiaal asbest bevat
e) Schuur geen magnesium of legeringen met een hoog magnesiumgehalte
f) Ben bewust van verf op andere behandelingen op het te schuren materiaal. Vele behandelingen
produceren schadelijk zaagsel. Bij werkzaamheden aan een gebouw van vóór 1960 is de kans op
loodhoudende verf groter.
g) Het stof dat vrijkomt bij het afschuren van loodhoudende verf is vooral gevaarlijk voor kinderen, zwangere
vrouwen en personen met hoge bloeddruk. Laat deze personen de werkplaats niet betreden, zelfs niet
met de juiste beschermende kleding
h) Gebruik wanneer mogelijk een stofafzuigsysteem om stof en afval onder controle te houden
i) Wees vooral voorzichtig wanneer u de machine voor zowel het schuren van hout als het schuren van
metaal gebruikt. Vonken van de metaalbewerking kunnen houtschuurstof gemakkelijk doen ontbranden.
Maak uw machine altijd grondig schoon om de kans op brand te verkleinen
j) De stofzak dient tijdens gebruik regelmatig, en na elk gebruik geleegd te worden. Zaagsel is mogelijk
een explosierisico. Gooi zaagsel niet in open vuur. Wanneer stofdeeltjes in contact komen met water of
oliedeeltjes ontstaat mogelijk spontane ontbranding
k) Werkvlakken en schuurpapier kunnen tijdens het gebruik erg heet worden. Leg het werk even stil als het
werkvlak tekenen van brand (rook of as) vertoont, en laat het materiaal afkoelen. Raak het werkvlak of
schuurpapier niet aan voordat het is afgekoeld.
l) Raak het bewegende schuurpapier niet aan
m) Schakel de machine uit voordat u het neerlegt
n) Gebruik geen nat schuurpapier.Vloeistoffen gaan mogelijk de motor in wat kan resulteren in elektrische
schok
o) Ontkoppel de machine van de stroomtoevoer voor het maken van enige aanpassingen en/of het
verwisselen van schuurpapier
p) Zelfs wanneer het gereedschap gebruikt wordt zoals is voorgeschreven, is het niet mogelijk alle
resterende risicofactoren te elimineren. Gebruik de machine bij enige twijfel niet
Slijproller veiligheid
• Pas de positie van de beschermkap aan wanneer de werkhoek veranderd wordt. Wanneer u onzeker
bent over de juiste gebruikswijze van de beschermkap of enig ander deel van de machine, raadpleegt u
professionele hulp
• De maximale snelheid van het bevestigde accessoire hoort te allen tijde hoger te zijn dan de maximale
snelheid van de machine
• Gebruik geen adapters of sluitringen om accessoires met onjuiste afmetingen passend te maken
• Zorg ervoor dat de snij-/slijpschijf juist en veilig is gemonteerd. Laat de machine met gemonteerde snij-/
slijpschijf zonder belasting gedurende 30 seconden draaien voor u met slijpen begint. Indien te veel
trillingen optreden, zet u de machine uit en verhelpt u de trillingen voor gebruik.Wanneer u enigszins
onzeker bent betreft de juiste gebruikswijze van de machine raadpleegt u professionele hulp
• Alle schijven en accessoires dienen voor elk gebruik gecontroleerd te worden. Wanneer een accessoire
beschadigd is vervangt u het onmiddellijk! Wanneer u niet zeker bent of het accessoire veilig te
gebruiken is, gebruikt u het accessoire niet en vervangt u het
• Accessoires mogen niet in contact komen met water of vet. Wanneer u vermoedt dat het accessoires
tijdens opberging verzwakt is, gebruikt u het niet
• Slijp geen magnesium of legeringen met een hoog magnesiumgehalte
• Houdt de machine juist vast om er voor te zorgen dat het afval niet op uw huid of kleding terecht komt
• Druk de spindelvergrendeling niet in wanneer de machine in gebruik is
• Accessoires blijven na uitschakeling nog enige tijd doordraaien. Laat het accessoire tot stilstand komen.
Probeer het accessoire niet te stoppen door deze te belasten. Leg de machine NOOIT neer voordat het
accessoire volledig tot stilstand is gekomen
• Een schuurwiel/schijf zal door gebruik verslijten en kleiner worden. Vervang een schijf/wiel wanneer het
te klein wordt voor een gemakkelijk gebruik

Gebruiksdoel
• Gesnoerde slijproller voor het schuren, polijsten en slijpen van platte, en gevormde oppervlakken, met
gebruik van verschillende verkrijgbare schuur en polijstwielen. Te gebruiken op verschillende metalen,
houtsoorten en andere materialen
Het uitpakken van uw gereedschap
• Pak uw toestel / gereedschap uit. Inspecteer het en zorg dat u met alle kenmerken en functies vertrouwd
raakt.
• Controleer of alle onderdelen aanwezig zijn en in goede staat verkeren. Als er onderdelen ontbreken of
beschadigd zijn, zorg dan dat deze vervangen worden voor u dit toestel / gereedschap gebruikt.
Voorafgaand aan het gebruik
WAARSCHUWING: Schakel de machine uit en ontkoppel deze van de stroombron voordat u accessoires
verwisselt of aanpassingen maakt
Het bevestigen van het voorhandvat
• Het voorhandvat (13) dient voor gebruik op de machine bevestigd te worden
1. Schroef het handvat op het linker of rechter bevestigingspunt (12/16) van de machine vast, afhankelijk van
het uit te voeren werk en voorkeur van de gebruiker
2. Houdt het handvat in de juiste hoek op de machine
3. Draai het handvat stevig, maar niet te strak vast
Het bevestigen en afnemen van het schuurwiel
BELANGRIJK: Het schuurwiel (15) of ander accessoire dient goed op de machine bevestigd te worden
BELANGRIJK: Controleer de staat waarin het accessoire verkeerd voordat u het op de machine bevestigd
1. Verwijder het bestaande wiel/accessoire door de as-vergrendelknop (11) met de ene hand in te drukken
2. Verwijder de sluitring en bout (zie afb. B), door de bout met gebruik van de inbegrepen steeksleutel
linksom los te draaien. De bout draait vrij rond tot de as-vergrendeling ingrijpt
3. Schuif het bestaande wiel/accessoire van de pin en vang de twee pinnen die van de as vallen op
4. Schuif het nieuwe wiel/accessoire op de as (10). Plaats beide pinnen als weergegeven in afbeelding A
5. Druk de as-vergrendelknop in, plaats de sluitring terug en draai de bout vast (zie afb. B)

Het bevestigen van een schuurkoker op de schuurcilinder
1. Controleer de schuurcilinder op slijtage en beschadiging
2. Controleer of de schuurcilinder voorzien is van een rotatierichting aanduiding en zorg ervoor dat deze
overeenkomt met de indicator (14) op de machine
3. Schuif de schuurcilinder over de schuurtrommel (17)
4. Zorg ervoor dat de schuurcilinder stevig bevestigd is voordat u de machine gebruikt
Het verwisselen van de beschermkap
• De beschermkap (1) hoort tussen het wiel en de gebruiker te zitten. Wanneer de werkhoek of de positie
van de gebruiker verandert past u de positie van de beschermkap aan. Raadpleeg professionele hulp
wanneer het gebruik van de beschermkappen onduidelijk is
• De beschermkap kan over 360° versteld worden, tussen het wiel en de gebruiker, voor een veilig gebruik
bij elk uit te voeren werk
• Draai de vergrendelbout (8) los, plaats de beschermkap in de gewenste positie en draai de bout weer
vast
Gebruik
WAARSCHUWING: Bij het gebruik van de machine is het dragen van een veiligheidsbril, een stofmasker,
gehoorbescherming en geschikte handschoenen aanbevolen
WAARSCHUWING: Het gebruik van het staalborstel wiel op staal en andere ferrieten produceert mogelijk
vonken, wat ontvlambare gassen en materialen als papier en zaagsel mogelijk doet ontbranden
BELANGRIJK: De motor ventilatiegaten (6) dienen schoon gehouden te worden. Metaalstof en zaagsel wat de
ventilatiegaten binnendringt, kan de motor beschadigen en vernietigen
BELANGRIJK: Stop het werk regelmatig om de werkruimte schoon te maken en de ophoping van zaagsel en
stof te voorkomen. Maak wanneer mogelijk gebruik van een stof ontginningssysteem
Het in- en uitschakelen van de machine
LET OP: Schakel de machine niet aan of uit wanneer het wiel het werkstuk raakt. Laat de motor volledige
op snelheid komen voordat u de machine belast. Laat de machine volledig tot stilstand komen voordat deze
neergelegd wordt. Houd de machine stevig, met beide handen bij de handvaten vast.
• Om de machine te starten pakt u de handvaten (4+13) stevig vasten knijpt u de trekker schakelaar (5) in
• Laat de trekker schakelaar los om de machine uit te schakelen
• De machine kan in de aan-stand vergrendeld worden met gebruik van de aan-stand vergrendelknop
(3). Houdt de trekker schakelaar ingeknepen wanneer u de vergrendelknop indrukt. Knijp de trekker
schakelaar opnieuw in en laat deze los om de functie en de machine uit te schakelen
Snelheidscontrole
• Verstel de snelheid van de machine met gebruik van het snelheidscontrolewiel (2): een hoger nummer
duidt op een hogere snelheid. Zie fig. I
WAARSCHUWING: Stel de snelheid van de machine, passend bij het uit te voeren werk
WAARSCHUWING: De maximale snelheid van het bevestigde wiel/accessoire dient nooit overschreden
te worden
Polijst tips
BELANGRIJK: Voor het verkrijgen van een perfecte fijne afwerking, slaat u niet meer dan één korrelgrofte
maat over bij het wisselen van een grof schuurvel naar een fijn schuurvel
• Zorg ervoor dat het te polijsten oppervlak schoon en droog is
• Maak enkel gebruik van een polijstpasta, compatibel met het te polijsten materiaal. Lees de
gebruiksinformatie van de polijstpasta voor gebruik volledig door
Schuur tips
WAARSCHUWING: Gebruik de machine niet voor natschuren
WAARSCHUWING: Bij het gebruik van de machine is het dragen van een stofmasker vereist
• Laat de machine volledig op snelheid komen voordat deze het werkstuk raakt
• Begin met een grover schuurpapier en werk geleidelijk aan naar een fijner schuurpapier, tot de gewenste
afwerking vereist is
• Oefen een matige druk op de machine uit. Het uitoefenen van te veel druk resulteert mogelijk in de
oververhitting van de motor en de beschadiging van het werkoppervlak

Onderhoud
WAARSCHUWING: Verwijder de stekker uit het stopcontact voordat u enig onderhoud of schoonmaak
uitvoert
Algemene inspectie
• Controleer regelmatig of alle bevestigingsmiddelen nog goed vast zitten. Door vibratie kunnen ze na
enige tijd los gaan zitten
• Inspecteer het stroomsnoer voor elk gebruik op slijtage en beschadiging. Reparaties dienen uitgevoerd
worden bij een geautoriseerd GMC service center. Dit geld tevens voor verlengsnoeren, gebruikt met de
machine
Schoonmaak
• Houd uw machine te allen tijde schoon. Vuil en stof doen de interne onderdelen snel slijten, wat de
levensduur aanzienlijk vermindert. Maak de machine met een zachte borstel of droge doek schoon.
Gebruik wanneer mogelijk zuivere, droge perslucht om door de luchtgaten te blazen
• Maak de behuizing met een vochtige doek en een licht schoonmaakmiddel schoon. Gebruik geen alcohol,
benzine of hardnekkig schoonmaakmiddel
• Gebruik geen bijtende stoffen voor het schoonmaken van plastic onderdelen
Let op: Bij het schakelen tussen het schuren van hout en metaal dient u de machine extra goed schoon te
maken. Metaal vonken kunnen houtstof ontbranden
Smeren
• Smeer alle bewegende onderdelen regelmatig met een geschikt smeermiddel
Koolstofborstels
• Na verloop van tijd zullen de koolborstels in de motor verslijten
• Bij overmatige slijtage van de borstels verliest de motor mogelijk vermogen, start het niet meer, en/ of
produceert het overmatig vonken
• Om de borstels te vervangen:
1. Verwijdert u de toegangsdoppen (7) van beide zijden van de machine.
2. De versleten borstels kunnen verwijderd worden en vervangen worden door de nieuwe.
3. Bevestig de toegangsdoppen terug op de machine.
• Als alternatief laat u de borstels bij een erkend GMC-servicecenter vervangen
Let op: Een paar reserve koolstofborstels is inbegrepen
